Surprised @ how rude....

I'm really surprised at how rude people are on this site. (Not everyone of course) People post questions to get advice and numerous times I've read some awfully rude responses. If people are asking advice it's either because they absolutely have no idea or their on the fence about something and just need input. I myself have posted two questions, each time I have encountered the wrath of the wedding "expert" police. Just because someone is choosing a different path then you doesn't give you the right to talk down & bash them. I have other questions about my non traditional wedding and post wedding celebration/party but I honestly don't know if asking my questions are worth the rude judgemental comments I'm sure I will encounter.

    Nope, never.

People on here tend to be blunt not rude.  There is a difference.

  • Well thank you for responding... Point proven... Rude & completely unnecessary. Much to my surprise (not) I came upon a similar thread where the "Mean Girl" syndrome was in full effect.

I posted my frustration on a chit chat board about my frustration with the amount of nasty women who cannot give an opinion without being mean and snotty. You can give your opinion with out snide sarcastic remarks. It's called having class and being nice.
  • Snark =/= rude.

The answers are snarky. Because BTDT.

Now I want to see the rude threads.

Blunt is fine... You don't like something you can say its wrong or not the correct. My problem is the people who feel the need to comment with ugly snide nasty remarks followed by their bandwagon of other rude people who banter back in forth mocking and talking down or about the original post.

Dude, one of your discussions I (and others) was on your side (wearing the dress after your wedding). Many of the TK regulars disagree with each other at times.

Now, the other discussion about having a shower after you're already married, you even said it was weird. None of the regulars are going to say that it's ok to have a shower once you are a wife. No one was mean to you on either of those discussions.

  • So, if it's not everyone, can you tell us who is mean?
  • Dude. I am two STRONG margaritas in, and I'm gonna need more.

  • I read the OP's other threads and I'm not understanding this post at all. Maybe she is a Robin Hood for other knotties?

  • I think so, Lynda. She sided with the poster calling us mean girls in a thread on E.

  • Reading through other threads and seeing responses to the post. I guess reading through some tonight I was taken aback at how mean some women can be. You are correct the shower thing was a fine and no one was rude. Most likely because it's something that I thought was odd anyway. .. I believe my other post I was thinking about was a response to another tread. Huskypuppy14 your response to this was not at all rude you pointed out an error without jumping down my throat or making off hand snide remarks. You an example as to how to response to someone in a adult way without going all mean girl on them. Thank you.
  • Please excuse my many typos. I should read my post and edit before I hit reply.
  • Excellent point, Phira!

But in all seriousness, no one on these boards will stop giving their opinion when it's asked for!

So let's stop posting useless threads about how we're all just so mean and how we like to bully people.

Meh, being mean would be if I said "OMG, you stupid fuck, pull your head out of your ass".  If I disagree with you about something and am blunt about it, that is not mean, IMO.

  • Go post something political or religious anywhere on the inter webs then come back and tell me how cruel TK is.

Actually don't come back.  I don't see the point in being on a site that you clearly hate so much.
