  What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

  Well thank you for responding... Point proven... Rude & completely unnecessary. Much to my surprise (not) I came upon a similar thread where the "Mean Girl" syndrome was in full effect.
  
  I posted my frustration on a chit chat board about my frustration with the amount of nasty women who cannot give an opinion without being mean and snotty. You can give your opinion with out snide sarcastic remarks. It's called having class and being nice.

  Blunt is fine... You don't like something you can say its wrong or not the correct. My problem is the people who feel the need to comment with ugly snide nasty remarks followed by their bandwagon of other rude people who banter back in forth mocking and talking down or about the original post.

  Dude, one of your discussions I (and others) was on your side (wearing the dress after your wedding). Many of the TK regulars disagree with each other at times.

  Reading through other threads and seeing responses to the post. I guess reading through some tonight I was taken aback at how mean some women can be. You are correct the shower thing was a fine and no one was rude. Most likely because it's something that I thought was odd anyway. .. I believe my other post I was thinking about was a response to another tread. Huskypuppy14 your response to this was not at all rude you pointed out an error without jumping down my throat or making off hand snide remarks. You an example as to how to response to someone in a adult way without going all mean girl on them. Thank you.

  I just read through the other threads you've started. No one was rude to you. You didn't incur any wrath. I think you are reading into the tone of a lot of totally benign posts (e.g. the posts aren't explicitly mean but *could* be read as mean or could be read as neutral), and I think you're taking a lot of comments personally.

  
  

  Additionally, you're asking for advice, so people are going to give opinions. Some of those opinions might not be want you want to hear, but you can't police them. As long as people are following the terms of service, you can't demand that they post or not post certain things.
  

  
  

  I also want to point out that you've only been dropping by to ask questions, and you're not otherwise an active participant in the community at all. There's nothing inherently wrong with that--the purpose of the boards is for people to ask questions and get feedback. But as you might imagine, since you're not making any effort in particular to join the community (get to know people, help answer other people's questions), no one's really going to listen to your criticisms.

  Here's the thing. We get one of these "all of you are so mean!!!" posts about once a week. Making a post like this is not going to make people change. If you don't like how the forum is, you don't have to stay here. Now, I'm not saying get out by any means. I'm saying that different Internet forums have different dynamics. If you don't like this one, there are hundreds of others out there. The Internet is a big place. I just don't understand why you hang around somewhere where you hate everyone and think they're all so horrible. Furthermore, if you really think people are so mean, call them out in the individual thread. Creating a new thread looks weak. If you call someone out, own it.
