How was everyone's weekend?

Re: How was everyone's weekend?

  • I had my car worked on Saturday and helped my aunt with a puzzle all day. Sunday was not wonderful, FI and I argued most of the day about stupid things. I am adamant he was being a turd head. I hope this week goes by quickly

We worked all weekend. FI worked on his sister's car, I worked on 1001 errands and household projects.

The upside was our evenings. We saw "Motown" Friday night and it was amazing.

Saturday night was a huge PhD graduation party. The graduate (and the party) were inner city Puerto Rican so the amount of cultural pride (and food and music!) were amazing. FI and I learned yet again that we can't dance to save ourselves.

) And last night was an impromptu dinner with FI's family. His mom fed me the most ridiculously wonderful plate of goodies- essentially ripped up sopes covered in crumbly cheese, chorizo and a bit of raw onion. Heaven!

Edited because TK formatting is out to get me.

  • @Inkdancer, I'm sorry to hear about your job. Political BS sucks. :( Hopefully you find a new job that is more awesome.

@inkdancer Ugh, I'm so sorry. If there's any way we can help (searching for new job listings, editing resumes/cover letters), definitely ask. In the meantime, WINE?

  • My weekend was busy...full of dentist appointments and taking my car to the mechanic. Expensive and it took up my entire Saturday. On Saturday night DH and I got to have a nice dinner at a semi-fancy restaurant in the area. That was a nice date night. :) On Sunday I relaxed and watched Game of Thrones.

I am actually having a ton of fun being a temporary house-futurewife. I am cleaning all the things, and I'm making bacon-wrapped sirloin pops with baked potatoes, garlic green beans,  and ciabatta rolls for dinner.

Lol @inkdancer you can come cook dinner here anytime :) Well, I'm glad most of you ladies had a good weekend. Mine was pretty brutal following dislocating my knee on Wednesday and then having to attend a funeral for the father of 2 of FI's good friends on Friday. DS's baptism was yesterday so I spent most of Saturday shopping and preparing food. Today has been pretty much the first time I've been able to actually rest my leg since it happened. The baptism was good, DS did really well and our family and friends had a good time. Three of my friends bailed last minute, though, which was frustrating. Hopefully next weekend will be better, and my knee will get a chance to heal so I can get back to my exercise routine (30lbs+ to lose). ETA: Paragraphs don't want to work today. Great!

@Inkdancer - so sorry to hear about your job. I hope something comes your way quickly. @jdluvr06 - I wish you much luck and success as you guys build your family in whatever way is meant to be. This weekend was DS's Eagle Scout Court of Honor. He didn't joing til the Fall of his Freshman year and you have to complete your Eagle project and turn in all required documentation prior to your 18th bday. He went from start to finish in 3 years 9 months which is a record in his troop. Most boys start far younger than he did and don't have to push so hard. We are super proud of him. At his Board of Review he was asked what one thing he would change about Scouting. He said it should be open to gay boys and men. He said Scouting changed his life and offers experiences and lessons he would have never had without it. He will tell you it changed his life and that it should be available to everyone. These are the Scouts who will change things..... Super proud Mom today. The reception afterward had over 100 people (Thank God another family had an Eagle in the ceremony) and we fed them seriously awesome pulled pork, potato salad, cole slaw, cookies, and cake, and veggies and fruit and dip. Court of Honor down, wedding coming 3 weeks from Saturday - I am ready for this to be done!!!
  • My weekend was great! Got my nails done, went for a massage, did my final dress fitting, visited with my mom (and gorged on sushi and ice cream. Lol), and since my mom just got a second job at a clothing store (government worker by day, stylist by night. Lol) I just got a shit ton of new work clothes for half off! Long weekend is over tomorrow though so it will be PD meetings all day tomorrow. Guess I'll be sitting in the back "knotting" it up tomorrow! Haha

I used to snicker when I'd watch this episode (like, come on, who does that?), and then I moved in with my partner and, well ... yeah. When you don't HAVE to put on clothes, ya often don't.

  • I had an awesome weekend. My sister came to town Friday afternoon. We went from the airport to lunch and then mani/pedi's. Dinner at my parents house afterwards.  Saturday was my bridal shower and Saturday night was my bachelorette party. We did one of the painting parties. So much fun. Followed that up with Karaoke, dancing and tequila shots.
