Re: AW: pet pictures

  • Here are our fur babies... the cat is Tibbers and the dog is Cooper (short for Dr. Sheldon Cooper. Lol). Don't have many of the cat though.

  • My Raider goose!

He left today to go to my parents while the movers load our truck. Two nights of sleeping without my puppy dog! I'm very sad and miss my son!

  • @Severmilli12 and @SmileDamnit I love your handsome bullies!  I used to have a brindle bullie named Tank.  He was such a sweetheart and I miss him :(

These are my two.   The dog is a white boxer named Hudson Hawk.  He's a lovable comedic genius.  My cousin makes fun of his lopsided face.  The cat is Siamese named Ping.  She has the notorious Siamese attitude and clearly leads a rough life.  As you can see from the 3rd pic, she hates when I pay attention to things that are not her.
Aren't bulldogs the best? FI had never been around one before but now that he's in love with Gus, he's agreed that we will always have one. Hands down the best, most unique personalities of any breed I've ever been around!

I'm sorry to hear about Tank, but glad you have the adorable Hudson Hawk in your family now :)

  • We need more basset pictures! That's what's wrong with the world. Not enough basset hounds.
    Best dogs ever.
I had a beautiful giant basset girl named Spike. 78 pounds of adorable. She looked like a fat torpedo with ears. When she was bad, she'd reach up with a paw and smooth her giant ears over her face to hide. I truly love bassets. And she'd talk, deep in her throat. Rowwr rowr rowwwr rowr, like she was telling stories. Do yours talk? That just cracks me up.
(I want to pet Luna's frecklebelly. Look at the pork chop legs on that girl! And Gabby's smile! Sooooooo cute!)

  • @SmileDamnit, bulldogs are awesome!  Just listening to them snore will keep you entertained for hours.  Although, boxers are brachiocephalic, so they snore too, just not quite as loud as a bullie.

  • @Dignity100‌ can I have both your dogs?? So fluffy!

On the subject of snoring, Raider snores really loud! He'll be on his back like in that one pic up there, laying between us with his head next to mine, and he will just SNORE. Like, you got snot in there or something. I don't have a problem with FI snoring (yet), but I do with my 11 month old puppy dog!

  • These are my two beagles! Scout is the one in front (she's the boss) and Bandit is behind her. They are such good friends!

  • I never pass up an opportunity to talk about my fur babies!  ;)

We have two Boston Terriers:  I adopted Mandy during college, she's 6 years old now.  And we just brought Velcro home two weeks ago.  Velcro is only 10 weeks old!

Whoops, picture didn't post the first time...
  • I love that so many of you have black kitties too! When DH was looking at the shelter they told him the black cats are the hardest to adopt out because people are superstitious. Since he loves our kitty so much he has decided that we can only adopt black cats now. Another kitty picture, from the day we adopted her.

Love all the black kitties too! When I adopted Neffie (my black kitty) they told me I was lucky I wasn't trying to adopt her in October. Apparently shelters won't adopt black cats out the before, the week of or the week after Halloween because people will adopt them for parties or something and then bring them back.
  • We have three. Two are "mine" and one is "his". All were adopted from high-kill shelters in the Houston area. I have been a volunteer at various shelters for many years.

My heart dog is Pippin, the white and brown one with the short tail. He is so much like me, it's crazy. The shelter called him an Australian Shepherd mix, but I'm not sure if that's 100% accurate. He has a coat like a Lab, not a double-coat like shepherds. He is super ball crazy. He will do nearly anything to play with you. He is well-trained in Rally Obedience. Despite being super trainable and so good with his tricks, he's so clutzy and will sometimes walk into walls leaving FI to call him "special". He's almost 7 now and starting to feel middle-aged. I've never met a more expressive dog or a dog that likes being hugged as much as he does.

Puch (pronounced "pooch") is the black one. Our best guess is a German Shepherd/Heeler mix. He is super shy and was my first foster dog. I ended up adopting him after having him in my house for over a year. He was a very difficult case to build trust with. It took me over 2 weeks to be able to touch him without him cowering. No one wanted him then, but now he's considered "the perfect dog". People love to have him around because he's so well-behaved. Now, he loves me and Stephen and comes around to new people much more quickly.

Penny (we have all "P" names) is FI's dog. She was a Christmas puppy for him, adopted at 1 year old on December 20th, 2012. He was looking for a laid-back basset hound type and what he ended up with was a hyperactive Corgi/Pit mix (best guess). She's shorter, but just as long as Pippin. She's a pistol and keeps us on our toes. She plays with Pippin non stop, though Puch cannot be bothered with such antics. She is always getting into something and never backs down, ever. We have to watch her when she goes swimming because she goes and goes until she's literally too exhausted to move.

After that novel, I'm leaving you with pictures. I love my dogs. They're all so different and not without challenges, but I wouldn't trade any of them for anything. That being said, we'll NEVER have three dogs again.

"They say there's no such place... as Paradise. Even if you search to the ends of the Earth, there's nothing there. No matter how far you walk, it's always the same road. It just goes on and on. But, in spite of that... Why am I so driven to find it? A voice calls to me... It says, 'Search for Paradise.' " - Kiba, Wolf's Rain

  • @sugargirl1019 - I can guarantee your vacuum cleaner would not be amused with you if you had my dogs.  I'm pretty fond of them, so I think I'll keep 'em for now ;-)

  • This is my chocolate lab, Daisy. She had a whole other couch with no divider to lay on, but she decided this was better.
    image
And this is Sophie (black calico), and Schultz (orange) the day that I brought them home:
    image
We got Dirty D about 6 months after we got the kittens and they were weird about her at first. Sophie was mostly like, "What is this thing and why is it laying on my new bed?" (About the bed that I'd brought home the day before that was going to be Daisy's bed). But now they fucking LOVE her. Sophie doesn't snuggle her, but she'll walk up to Daisy while she's sleeping and groom her face.

This is a regular occurrence in my house:
    image

And I have two Peking ducks that live at my parents house. They are full-grown and they are sassy little shits now. This is from when they were tiny baby ducklings:

  • My two fur babies! Black Kitty (Lady of the House) & Jojo Binks (Man of the House). They pretend to be BFFs but despite living together for, oh I don't know, EVER they still fight like children sometimes.

I am a crazy cat lady for sure.

  • Argh, stupid droid won't give up my pictures! Cristina was being adorable and I want to show her off. She's a black Maine Coon and registered as Cattery's Lacoona Coil, thus why she's called Cristina. Marco (Cattery's Northern King, he's a red tabby) just got his summer cut and is acting stupid. Plus pouting because one of the rats chopped his nose when he was being rude.
  • My baby girl Paige:
