We're both really sad that our dog can't be with us for our ceremony and reception. So, since we're having a photo booth, we're going to do a cardboard cut-out of a dog's face and people can use her as a prop.

OMG, I am stealing this idea!!!
  • I got credit for the bathroom baskets at my wedding.  I didn't make them.  The wedding before mine left them there.

-I did flip flop baskets (they were a huge hit),
-Hotel bags (they were a little expensive but we had 40 rooms booked and they were greatly appreciated),
-Name hanger (no one got it for me.  I found a good deal on Etsy so I ordered it),
-Ribbons wands (for people to shake outside the church when we left. Found them cheap on oriental trading
-"I do" sticker for my shoes (no one got it for me but found a cheap one on Etsy)

    I think that's it....

  • I love the idea of a flip flops basket. How did you know the size distribution though? And how many did you buy? I've played with the idea but hate the idea of wasting a bunch of money on the wrong sizes!

    I got 5 pairs of 5s
    10 pairs of 6s,7s, 8s, & 9s
    5 pairs of 10s & 11s

55 pairs for 210 wedding guests.  They were gone by the end of dinner.  I got them at the Old Navy dollar flip flop sale.  Pic of the baskets below...

We're doing bathroom baskets and welcome bags in the hotel (all of FI's family is from OOT so it's a bunch of stuff local to my hometown).

We were considering the flip flops, but from what we saw rumored online, the $1 ON sale is going to be June 28th and I will be at a bachelorette weekend then.

We're also having some lawn games out, we have cat and dog masks for our photo booth (not of our dogs unfortunately, but that may have to happen now; it's because he calls me Kit and I call him Pup...cheese, I know), we're doing bubbles for our church exit, and I really super want to rent a shaved ice machine, but FI thinks the candy bar is enough.

Oh and our escort cards are pinwheels that I made myself!

My mom just sent me rhinestone-studded socks with a little bride on them that say "Wedding Girl!" I wouldn't have bought them myself but now I'll definitely be rocking them when the week comes!

I'm also thinking about getting these adorable leaf-shaped escort card holders. Completely unnecessary, but they're not that expensive and will add a little to the fall theme without looking cheesy.
  • Now I totally want to have the flipflop basket! I was afraid that no one would use them but now I'm kinda sold!

Not sure that I can get there on 6/28 but I'm wondering if DollarTree or someplace like that has them.

I'm also going the bathroom basket and welcome bag route. I don't know what else will pop up, but our big one that we refuse to budge on are the Insomnia Cookies. FI and I (and FSIL and her hubby) LOVE Insomnia. They're always there for us after a night of drinking (not to mention that they DELIVER!!), so it only seems fitting that they're waiting for everyone, all warm/gooey/delicious in their goodness.

  • @ClimbingBrideNY I love that you want to include your dog in your day so you are having a dog photo booth prop. I really love our cat and now I want to find a way to make her a photobooth prop. Not just a cat thing, like a photo of my actual cat. How can I make this work!? <- Example of a silly thing I would legit spend money on.

  • My mom put together bathroom baskets and everything was gone by the end of the night. I bought individual cupcake containers because I didn't want to deal with leftover cupcakes. There were no containers and about 12 cupcakes left. I wasn't sure what the weather would be like for the wedding. Since we travelled across the country I came prepared for rain. I bought an umbrella in my wedding colours. DH wanted our kitty to be the flower girl (yes, he was serious). I said no, so he slipped pictures of kitty onto the STD, invitations and the favours. DH bought a Minnie and Mickey bride and groom that played the wedding march for the cupcake tower topper.

  • We're planning on doing OOT baskets... but really silly..I had 2 custom made wax seal stamps made. One with our names for the Save the Dates. Another designed by me for our belly band for our invitation.

Even though they were DIY, it was such an elegant touch, people were telling us how luxurious they were.

@duhitsd this is what I plan on doing. Taking a good picture of our dog, having it printed at CVS and then gluing it to a thick poster board. Then I'll glue on a stick so she's easy to hold. Hopefully it will work!
I maybe have to enlist the help of my aunt, who is a professional photographer.

We have a giant deer head at our venue that is mounted on the wall.  There is no taking him down, so I figure if he is invited to the party he better be the best dressed guest there,  I bought a top hat, a bow tie and a monocle to put on Mr. Bambi Fancypants.   I don't think this is a splurge though... my wedding day would be ruined without these staples. Lol
I love this --- we have a giant buffalo head mounted on the wall right above the entrance from the lobby. We will be decorating it as well, but I'm not sure exactly how yet --- it may include a veil.

  • The things I can think of - I'm sure I have a TON of other stuff:

    - 'I do' stickers
    - Welcome Bags - we're doing a DW
    - I really want to get a bridal hanger, but I keep going back and forth on it - and if I get one, I was 1/2 thinking about having it say 'Disney Bride' instead of 'Mrs. LastName' so I could sell it when done
    - 'Just Married' shirts - we're going to be at Disney World. silly 'just married' shirts are fine!!
    - Minnie Wedding Ears w/veil (they're pretty awesome if you ask me!)

  • We are having tardises, minions, and the bride riding in on horseback for the wedding. And our American bulldog will be the ring bearer. FI is making him a little saddle sign that reads "Keep Calm and Say I Do!" on one side and "Keep Calm and Get Married" on the other.

Nothing too out of the ordinary. But those are all things that we love. :-)
  • Today I am making myself a tank top that says FUTURE WIFE on it. I am still debating on whether the back should say "she's from the future. she knows all."

Just curious, how do you gracefully get off the horse wearing a wedding dress?

If she's riding side-saddle, it would be easier.
