I don't know what it is, but every time I hear about that biting soccer player, I just start cracking up. FI make funs of me because I will bite his face (weird, I know) and he says that I am related to this guy.

    *For those that don't follow soccer, the picture in the OP was his first incident I believe (maybe his second), but definitely not the incident that happened in the World Cup.  

    He is being investigated and charged by FIFA. Minimum ban is 2 games, maximum is 24 (which is 2 years). Since it is his third incident (bans of 7 and 10 games previously), I really hope he gets the maximum ban. I learned not to bite people on the field before I was allowed to play, so this is seriously ridiculous.  I also hope his premier team drops him, but mostly because I want Liverpool to be better than that. 

    He also had an intentional handball last year to block a goal in the box against Ghana (who I do not love, GO USA), which knocked them out. He got a red card for that, but I still feel it is cheap. He has also been in trouble for racial slurs. So as you can imagine, he's a real peach. 

    What is the worst about all of this is that his interviews denied that he bit the opponent this time. You have a reputation for biting, you made the clear motion of biting him, teeth marks could be seen on the guys shoulder, you fell to the ground grabbing your teeth. Yet, you expect us to believe that his (unmoving) shoulder hit your teeth. Yes, clearly that is what happened. /s

    I love soccer and am a USA and Timbers fan. Other teams I root for include: FC Barcelona, Argentina (Go Messi!), Germany, Ireland, ManU. FI is a ManU fan, so I root for them because of him.

    What psycho bites another player, especially when there are like 40 cameras, plus hundreds of photographers to capture it?! Forget a ban-this guy should get kicked off the team permanently.

    My least favorite part of soccer. I never was a fan of the falling, so when I play it tends to get rough since I never go down. :(  A few major injuries and concussions later and I'm thinking maybe the pros know something that I don't (not the bitching, but the falling)

    @pinkshorts27--Thank you for the clarification. I knew that wasn't the most recent image, but it is the most absurd. I don't know what it is, but when I think of grown men biting each other on the field I just start laughing. I even laughed when you were describing his biting.

     

    I so hope he gets banned though. If not for the sake of the other players!

    I totally wasn't trying to step on toes. I figured you picked it because it was the most absurd. I didn't want people who didn't follow soccer to think we had such a great view and there were people still exclaiming his innocence. Unfortunately this time we only saw the back of his head move down, we don't have a view of the bite.

    Hopefully FIFA can actually do something right.  And I'll just leave this youtube video of John Oliver right here:

    Wait, he meant to bite the guy?  I figured he just kind of ran into him with his mouth open.  When I was in high school, a girl on the rugby team got a big bite mark on her forehead from a girl on the opposing team.  I think it scarred.

    That is disgusting. I used to work with kids with mental health and behavioral issues so I've been bitten a few times.  It hurts.  The bruises are awful.  I only had one break skin but over a decade later I still have the scar from one of his teeth.

    Yeah, that is clearly a deliberate bite. If he had just run into him it would have been straight on but he pushed him self up so he could get over the shoulder.
