I'm good at math.  Let's just say I do a lot of math in my head.  When I put it on paper, I can usually derive math that I've never learned if given enough time.

I'm amazing at typing, both in speed and accuracy.

I'm very good at distinguishing colors (I think most fiber arts people are) - why yes, there is a difference between yellow green and green yellow!

YES. Yellow green is green that's a little more yellow than regular green. Green yellow is yellow that has a little green in it.

  • I am insanely good at doing math in my head, and baking. I have been told that I should open my own bakery numerous times, but it's a stress reliever for me, and I don't want it to become stressful. Anyways, here is one of my creations (It's a Christmas Dark Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Ganache from scratch, Fondant decorations, and Powdered Sugar "Snow"). I can't seem to make the picture smaller.

  • Geology skill: I'm really good at guesstimating the different minerals in a slide. Plus I'm a good judge on whether your counter top is what you actually paid for. Black granite isn't granite! Granite is felsic and black counter tops are mafic.

Nongeology skill: I'm good at entertaining kids, improv, and teaching fun ways of learning science to kids.

  • I've been told that I'm pretty good with directions. I can usually remember how to get somewhere after going there once.

I recently learned that I'm pretty good at games like skee ball and bocce. I've had great success this summer lol

I'm also a pretty decent cook.

  • I'm good at baking. I can make cupcakes and cookies and icing all day. If I wasn't gonna be a nurse, I'd be a baker.

I have a knack for guessing people's MBTI types. Totally useless skill and usually impresses no one, but it helps me relate to other people better, so I continue to do it.

I am the bomb at overthinking EVERYTHING. (Not something I'm proud of, but damn, I do it like a pro.)

I give a kickass bed bath, and my patients always look more comfortable and have a tidier room when I leave.

    I'm a really good listener.

  • I'm also a good story teller.

I have this too! It call it my internal GPS.

We're lucky I have it, because FI is so FUCKING terrible with directions, it's not even funny.

I also have this! I ran cross country in high school, and our coach was terrible about giving us directions for a route to follow. Most of the time we would get lost after about 3 miles and I was the one who got the group back to the school.

  • @CloGreenEyes - I'm impressed by that. What is your MBTI type? I love that stuff. I'm INFJ. It is dead-on accurate as to my personality.

@500Days I used to think I was great with directions and navigation, but I've gotten worse since I've gotten a phone with GPS. I also can't usually learn how to get to a new destination just from being a passenger in the car, although it depends on the number of times I've traveled the route and the length of the route. Like, I knew how to get to high school without any trouble because by the time I could drive there, I'd traveled that route a million times. But getting to my in-law's house? I can do about half of the trip without GPS, but that's it. Driving through West Roxbury and Roslindale is a mess.

@minskat30, hello, fellow INFJ. :) I think the reason I love MBTI is because for me the description is so dead on balls accurate. I thought I was so weird until I took the test in college. Now I feel only slightly weird!

@GoldenPenguin, ENTP! (But I think I may have read that on a previous post somewhere, so I will do the honest thing and disqualify myself!)

    @KeptInStitches, IST-something? I'm gonna go with P.

@Swazzle, I have no idea, and I am ashamed. :( I am gonna go with E...S...F...J?

I'm prepared to go sit in the corner if I'm wrong now, lol.

ETA: I'm so mad! I think an MBTI post was like one of the first things I did when I started posting here, right before TK majorly changed the formatting. I just looked back and most of the responses got eaten in the switch. :(

    @CLoGreenEyes, I'm INTJ.

ETA: But in fairness, my N is my weakest stat, and day-to-day I can occasionally test as a S.
  • @twodimes I just saw this now I don't know it unfortunately :-(

  • Noted, @KeptInStitches‌! My intuition is also my weakest, as I'm sure I'm proving right now, lol.
  • Still fun to see what you think I am online!
  • That brings up an interesting point, I wonder how differently we all act online from IRL. I feel like I'm pretty much the same, maybe a little more introverted and shyer here because...I dunno. I just am. I'm still kind of quiet at first IRL, but usually able to open up a bit faster because faces and voices and whatnot make communication a helluva lot easier.
  • I'm way more outgoing online because of the lack of faces and voices and whatnot.
  • @CLoGreenEyes me next! Me next!

Good job! I go back and forth between ESFJ and ESTJ.

@CLoGreenEyes‌, I'm INFJ too, and it's dead on for me. Be honest, would you have guessed that?

@minskat30‌, I didn't realize you were an INFJ too! It does fit though. Crazy how different we express it!
  • @loves2shop4shoes - I can see it.  Kindred spirits.  :)  INFJ's can be like chameleons so it doesn't surprise me that we express it differently.  I'd say intuition and quiet observation are probably my highest skills...you have a very strong sense of intuition as well, I'd note for the record.
  • @CLoGreenEyes - NAILED IT! Although, I did test as an ENFP, but it was my weakest, and I didn't really identify with it, so I was told that I am ENTP.

My office is located in our campuses leadership center, where they do the MBTI testing, and are all certified, so I got the professional evaluation. It was really fun to go through.

  • @CLoGreenEyes Close! ISFJ... although apparently I'm just barely an introvert. I think the test I took a few weeks ago said I had an 11% preference for introversion over extroversion.
