@minskat30 - Family labor is awesome!! My BF's family is in the contracting business, so when we went to tile our bathroom they just had a bunch of leftover trim from past jobs we got to use, and his brother helped us re-do our fence AND our bathroom in basically a tenth of the time it would have taken us ourselves. . . So so great.

Tonight my little sister will be in town! I love her, but unfortunately she is boy crazy, so I am her second priority this weekend, as her and her BF are staying with other friends that live down here. Oh well, I get to see her for dinner at least. I've been there. I get it.

Tomorrow, I had better end up on the top of some awesome viewpoint, because I haven't been hiking in almost two months!! This is NOT how I planned to spend my summer! We'll see how the dog does sleeping in the tent with us. . .Should be cozy.

ETF: I type faster than TK can handle, apparently.

That is my mom's song to me. She says that she had to go through the pain of the marriage with my dad (who ended up being gay and leaving her for a man after cheating for years... but't that's a different story for a different time.) and if she didn't she wouldn't have me (the dance). I'm her dance! I bawl every time I hear that song! Lol.

Ahhh so swamped at work but have been checking in and reading this thread off and on all morning.

Weekend for me:
Tonight - pub time to celebrate a friend's unemployment. He quit his job to go back to grad school and get his PhD in quantum computing. Yeah. Sometimes I swear my life is the Big Bang Theory. lol. But we're really excited for him, and this particular bar is where we went to lament his potential layoff when they announced that his department was going to be essentially shut down over a 2 year period.
Saturday - We have to pack, clean, and find a towel for FI. I don't think we're going to do anything social, but you never know. We may do a low-key game night or something, but no plans for now.
Sunday-CANCUN!!!!!

ETA: I was on the phone with my mom earlier, and I asked if she'd seen the pics I'd sent her. She didn't realize I'd texted her, so she puts me on speaker phone and starts searching through her phone for pics of the ring. She's at work, so I can hear people talking to her, and they can hear me... so anyway, she finds the pics, starts gushing over the ring, and then starts showing her coworkers the ring while I'm still on the phone... hahahaha.

Also, my coworker just showed me the cutest video ever of a dog doing yoga with his human. I need a dog ASAP.

@EisleyJoGo - Amen! My sister's H does drywall but he's got a lot of friends/family in construction so hopefully that will cut down our reno costs (the home is a bit of a gut job but with great bones and an AWESOME location). Have fun camping!

@ellis1228 - Can you pack me in your suitcase? Please? I miss Cancun. I really miss Le Blanc (a resort we stayed at two times). It was like heaven. I didn't lift a finger...which might explain the gain of 10lbs.

Happy Friday!!!

I had the best day ever yesterday! So many good things happened, so I am going to share. My BF's team won their championship game, and my BF had the winning hit! AHHHH! So happy. AND, I won the 50/50 raffle at the game. I won $150. But wait, there is more! My roommate called at the game and said our landlord decided not to charge all of us for the numerous things my ex-roommate's dog ruined!!!! I made/saved around $500 last night!!!! WOOHOOO!! I feel rich.

My BF and I already agreed that if we move into a house and either one of us thinks its haunted...we are OUT OF THERE! That freaks me out so much.

Happy Friday!!!! Its been a stressful week starting a new job but I really like it so far! Tonight FI and I are going to an Irish pub with his parents for kilt night. Should be interesting...

On Saturday, I have a hair appt at 10:30 to get my hair colored for hopefully the last time before the wedding. After that we are running to Joannes to look for mint fabric so my sister can make the GM's bow ties. Saturday night we are going to see the TMNT movie.

Sunday I am running to my hometown to give my sis the fabric and to try another wedding hairstyle! Then we are working on our premarital counseling workbook and hopefully escort cards. Our RSVP date is tomorrow zoning hoping to have most of them in by Tuesday.

Today I'm on dog duty to make sure I give her her meds and see if they are helping. She was having a bad cough/hacking thing for the past couple of day's, and my stepdad's coworker told him that usually means something serious like cancer or something. So our family came to the decision that if it was something serious that couldn't just be treated with a round of meds, that since she is an older dog, we would put her down to keep her experiencing more pain than necessary. At 14, she's already at the higher end of her lifespan. But we went to the vet last night and it is thankfully just a bad respiratory infection. Also, there was a woman in the waiting room at the vet who had an 8 month old English Bulldog puppy and she was pretty much the most adorable thing ever and now I just really want one.

In addition to dog duty, my brother got his wisdom teeth pulled yesterday and he had two small teeth behind his top wisdom teeth, so he got those pulled as well. So I'm keeping him company and helping him out since he's all swollen and hurting. Other than that, I don't think anything too exciting is happening this weekend.

@minskat30 and @EisleyJoGo - my FI's family owns a general contacting/construction management company, which makes me feel SO MUCH better about any future home renovations or repairs! They can do a lot themselves and know the people to do the rest, and we can get materials dirt cheap. They actually finished my FSIL's basement with stuff left over from a few different jobs and it looks fantastic.

@Blue & White - Don't know how I missed that before, but I seriously hope you have called and talked to someone about the cable guy's customer service/general rudeness. How does he not realize that if he is going to set up cable somewhere that someone actually LIVES there, and CHOSE to live there? What a douche.

Woohoo! It's the freakin weekend! We get the girls back tonight from their dad's (ugh, I hate summers for this reason). We are going to see the new TMNT movie this weekend. We have a birthday party tomorrow afternoon with my youngest, and church on Sunday. I'm sure there will be some back to school shopping going on too as there's less than 2 weeks until school starts now!

@Blue We're going to CW at 745! And the tickets were super cheap. Seriously, $7 for an adult 3D movie? That's just nuts. Can't wait and the girls are SO excited.
