@500Days I love #3 best followed by #2! As far as dress budget, if it makes you feel better - I blew my budget out of the water, FI was ok with it (he hasn't seen the dress unless he's seen it on my phone accidentally).

@goldenpenguin- Your FI is the best. About 2 years ago my car died and FI let me use his car for an entire year, until we saved more money for another car. I would drop him off and pick him up everyday. The guilt was there plenty of times, because I always felt like I should be the only one responsible for getting another car. Same deal- he told me that we're in it together. I still drive that car (I love it, it's a jeep) and FI bought a truck with the money we saved.

@dignity100- I'm pretty sure FI will be okay with it, but I feel like I will regret the expense. I only budgeted $900 and I will go way over with alterations. I cannot fathom spending so much but I have to decide within the next 2 months.

I've been so embarrassed about the whole situation - and I've just started talking about it to even my closest friends. I put myself it a really shitty situation with my car, it's 100% my fault, and it's hard to face that. What I'm learning though, is that 1. more people than I know have been facing serious financial difficulties, but everyone tries to hide it because money is such a taboo thing to talk about, and 2. when you have a real partner in life, that's exactly what they are. I was really scared to talk to him about it, because I was genuinely terrified that he would be like "fuck it, I'm out." But he was the exact opposite. It makes me want to cry, not because I'm upset now, but because I don't know what I've done to deserve the wonderful things he brings to my life. I feel extremely lucky.

Dear NEY,

Ugghhhhh apparently I need to further clarify what I thought was a pretty clear-cut complaint. My opinion (and UO) was that a lot of the WR stuff on here was getting overwhelming, and I listed out my personal exceptions because who doesn't love seeing someone find their wedding dress or get engaged or get married? It was more directed towards stuff like @lilacck28 (if I have to call out someone from recent memory and sorry lilac this isn't a personal snub!) about where and what to register for. There ARE other boards on TK that are really awesome resources for that sort of thing and after what seemed like multiple weeks of a lot of heavy WR stuff it put me over the edge. I love seeing WR stuff, and while not everything is to my taste, I'm super excited for everyone's ideas (past and present) and to see some of the upcoming I'm Married AWs (cough @lennonkdc and @severmilli12 cough cough). My complaint also came the place that I felt was our community wide goal of helping the truly NEY ladies keep the BSC under control and I imagine that gets really hard sometimes when you're seeing multiple posts every week (or day sometimes) about your flowers, or centerpieces, or whatever. So there is my bit.

I would just like to say that I 100% agree with the bolded parts of your post. I love seeing everyone's wedding ideas and plans. But, I definitely avoid all of it on my BSC days.
