FB morons. arrgrhhh

This is a converstaion I just had with an old friend from elementary school.

Her:
Sarah Lee! How are you?
Me: I am fine, how about you?
Her: Pretty good haven’t seen you in years. I heard your engaged
Me: That’s good, yes I am.
Her:  wow good for you congratulations
Me: Thank you.
Her:  So when is the big day? Can me and my boyfriend come? Haha jk girl
Me:  It was going to be this September but due to medical reasons  we pushed it back to April 2011. We are very excited.
Her: Is everythiong okay?
Me: Yeah were fine, my epilepsy has become active again so I have been put on major restrictions for the next few months. I have dr appointments every other week and blood work 3 times a week. I can no longer work in my current position and have been forced to take a new position. So were just taking things one day at a time unti things are straighteened out.
Her: Oh man I remember when you used to take seizure at ******** they were scarey dude
Me: hah yeah its been ten years since my last one until recently.
Her: well that sucks so can we come to your wedding? lol
Me: We haven’t exactly hashed out a guest list yet. We still have quite awhile before we begin even thinking about that yet.
Her: well whats two extra people
Me: My venue has a limited seating arrangement so we are trying to focus on famiy first and then invite accordingly.
Her: I be ooking forward to my invite :)
Her: So what does your fiance do for a iving?
Me: He is a tattoo artist at ******* ***, he is manager and he recently made partners.
Her: oh im sorry hun
Me: for?
Her: wel that must be tough with him not having a real job and all
Me: excuse me?
Her: I cant help but to think of the term starving artist haha
Me: Thank you for your concern but we are far from starving
Her: I just mean the money cant be that good. Mark my boyfriend has just gotten a promotion at **** **** he is head of oi l changes departmnet. He makes like 1200 a month now
Me: Please congratulate your boyfriend on his promotion for me. I am actually on my way out though; it was nice talking to you.
Her:  yeah hope everything gets better for you maybe the 4 of us can go to dinner our treat
Me: Our schedules have been crazy lately, I am afraid we won’t have time but thank you for the offer.

I was amazed that 'real' people like this existed.
I was almost tempted to lash back with: well FI makes X amount a week, but refrained for obvious reasons. Clearly, I edited names and places for obvious reasons.

Re: FB morons. arrgrhhh

  • i would have been tempted too.  People are dumb.
  • Wowza. Congrats to you for keeping your cool!
  • Wow, I really can't believe that!

What happened with that friend and her kid destroying your computer?
"In the old days my ass would be in your back yard picking cotton, so excuse me if I don't put much stock in how f*cking awesome the old days were." -Nuggs
  • OOOH! HE'S THE HEAD OF OIL CHANGES?!?! ZOMG!! SOON HE'LL BE RUNNING THE WORLD!

Um... yeah.  She's a fucking idiot.
  • Yea, no longer felt sorry for not keeping in touch with her over the years.

lvb, she gave me 250 and i havent spoke to her since.

On a side note, the snow is here!
  • OOOH! HE'S THE HEAD OF OIL CHANGES?!?! ZOMG!! SOON HE'LL BE RUNNING THE WORLD!

This was my thought exactly. haha
  • You are more restrained than me.  I would have to lash out with some comment about what my FI made.  How annoying.  So sorry about your epilespy and douchebag worthless FI but where is my invite???

I had to bite my tongue recently when some drunk idiots were spilling drinks in front of my store.  The guy starts shouting "Look at the tool in a suit.  Yeah I sell shoes in a suit!  Hahaha.  Yeah I make $40/hr in a hard hat. and he probably makes $4/hr."

I wanted so badly to tell them that the man they were laughing at is our #1 sales person, and we make straight $10% commission and our #1 sales man sold almost 900,000 last year.  And he does not have to perform any physical labor for it either.

You're very diplomatic, and clearly a better person than I...  So why won't you give her an inviiiiite???  ;-)

And sorry to hear about your epilepsy.  :-(  I hope you can get it under control soon!  Best wishes!
  • Glad you got some money from that chick before moving on.  And IMO....I think it is awesome that your FI is a tattoo artist.  And obviously a good one.  Do you have any tattoos?  I have always wanted one, but I want a huge one on my back and am too fickle to commit.

  • What a freakin' bitch.  Yeah, I'll get right on that wedding invite, honey.

  • Wow, 1200$ a month?! Talk about loaded. I guess when youre that rich, manners go straight out the window.
  • Wait, he makes $1200 a MONTH?  Did she mean per week?  Even then.... so what?

Sorry, sounds like she's super annoying.  I'd delete her from my contact list.  And block her.
  • Some people are so rude. I really hate one uppers, and I think, that's why I am so restrained. Or it may be I just dont have the energy to fight back haha.

He is a pretty damn good tattoo artist if I do say so myself. lol I have 8 tattoos, 6 of which, he did. 'Make sure you know what you want before committing.

Thanks girls, we are working on controlling it.

  • Her BF works at walmart doesnt he. I bet he does. It sure is unfortunate that your FI is some lowly tattoo artist when he COULD work at walmart.

    *sarcasm*
  • I changed my status to 'offine' and she was deleted asap. Regardless of how much anyone makes why would anyone just throw it out there like that?
  • Haha Nebb, youre good! :x

  • Some people need to talk about their money to feel important, and without realizing it make themselves look sad and petty. When we were planning our wedding we had "friends" who would always ask how much this or that cost, so that they could tell us how much more what they did for their wedding cost. We learned quickly not to answer the questions. I was told when I said I wasnt wearing a veil that I should just get one from michaels because that sounded like the type of veil I would wear considering the type of wedding we were having. People are assholes.
  • holy crap what a raging mega-bitch!

Head of oil changes? This week he's mopping floors, next week it's the fries..

Seriously. Way to hold yourself together with class. I bet she only started saying that crap because you were indicating that she wouldn't get an invitation. She can suck my left one.

  • People truely make me stabby. While I was tring on dresses at davids bridal, I asked a friend what she though of the dress. Her reply: Its gorgeous! But mine will have to cost atleast $1,000. She couldn't have just left that part out?

These comments usually come from those who are unmarried and have no idead about wedding budgets and how costs can quickly rise. (not all, but most)
  • It was the first time I have every been asked the 'can I come' question. Thank god for p&e and learning some 'kind' ways to dodge an answer with excuses such as the one I used.
  • 1200 a month huh? Wow they are rolling in the dough lol!
    image
  • Im impressed (not in a good way) that she managed to weedle it into the conversation THREE times.
  • Sarah- you are way better then me.  I would have freaked out on that a-hole.  However I vote you have her at the wedding.  You can probable get an awesome gift from her.  I mean her BF is "head of oil changes"  Anyway thanks for making me laugh on such a boring day.
P.S.  Hope all is well with your health...

<div>I was thinking the same thing Nebb.  I wish I could make that kind of cash monies.  </div>
  • Whoa $1200 a month!

You really should invite them.  I bet they'd spend a boatload on a wedding gift for you since they're just rolling in it.

  • $1200 a month is something to brag about? I make slightly more than that in my current job and consider myself to be really poor. Thank God for Dh's job

I had that too "Wow I haven't seen you since high school! So when am I getting the wedding invite" Um..never?
  • I cannot believe she said sorry to you about your bf being a tattoo artist... does she even know what that means?! haha.

And I think that some people on welfare probably make over $1200 a month!

Apparenty not. The dress was initialy over a thousand but ended being on sale.. I was pretty excited for the price. lol

It makes for such an awkward converstaion when someone insists on being invited to your wedding.

I should invite them, I bet my gift would be a years worth of free oil changes. haha
  • Head of oil changes? WOW! Impressive.

My mouth literally dropped open while I was reading this. That girls sucks.
PS. I hope you are feeling ok!
