it's Friday...

Re: it's Friday...

  • My birthday is Sunday and we're finally having people over to the house (which we bought in February).  Had a housekeeper yesterday for the first time which means less cleaning to be done by me this weekend.  We do half days on Friday so I only have 30 more minutes before my 3 day weekend starts.  My plan is to work in the house today and tomorrow (finish decorating) and do some yard work.  On Sunday, DH is taking me to Top Golf in the morning and then people will be over in the evening.  Monday, I plan to relax as much as possible.

    Happy Birthday weekend to me!

Sorry for all of the crankiness abounding.

  • Can I go back to bed? I managed to burn my finger making breakfast for the bday boy, spilled my coffee and chipped my favorite mug, and discovered nutella and my stomach do not get along. Now I just feel like crap and wanna go hide from Friday.

This is literally the worst thing I have ever heard in my life.  Nutella = LIFE.

Is there something in the air?  I'm in a grumpy mood today too.  Actually, I have been all week.  We have friends coming  to visit this weekend, and as much as I love them, all I want is to spend the long weekend on the couch, eating nachos and drinking a box of wine.

  • I woke up at 7:51. I have to be at work at 8. I live 20 minutes from work AT BEST. Friday started out rough.

BUT tomorrow is my birthday, Auburn Football, Bed Reordering Day and POSSIBLY Grill Buying Day, Sunday is brunch with FI, then birthday dinner and my favorite cake, and then Monday is chill day. So life is still good.

So I'm pretty happy about today. I will be happier when I can go home and put on a big t-shirt and watch BridesDay or whatever the hell it's called.

Also, I got some numbers back from a caterer, which prompted my mom to send me this again:

Pretty sure we're not going to go with that caterer.

That sunburn is awful! Fingers crosses the redness dies down. Then spray tan to even out the tan.

I have so many comments to make about the other posts... Something about how tacos and pasta sound really good together right now, like penne pasta.

Sex toys - DH and I were heading through the customs line coming back from the honeymoon and I'm like, “why is my suitcase vibrating??" really loud and confused, wondering out loud. DH opens his eyes really wide and is like oh shit. *inconspicuously opens suitcase to turn sex toy off* I'm sure we were flagged by customs for "rearranging items". Haha.

I work today and tomorrow boo. No plans for the weekend, but we saw maleficent last night finally and that was a surprising movie. I enjoyed it.

  • @slothiegal Would you believe me if I told you this morning was the first time I ever had Nutella? Only had a bite or two before my stomach was turned inside out. At least I didn't have time to devlop an attachment.

I never had it until I lived in Italy for a few months and it was EVERYWHERE.  You're right, though--in this case, better to have never loved at all.

FSS was pretty happy. He was already eating my pancakes for me when I came back from the bathroom. He would live off the stuff if we let him and hates that I never buy it. I may or may not have packed him a nutella sanwhich for lunch just to use it up faster and hey it's his birthday.

  • ummm I just got a call that my dog is .25 mile away. Apparently he escaped the fencing in the backyard. I didn't notice and thought he was out on the deck. Nope he went on a nice little stroll. Funny enough he stopped at another bulldogs home.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • The start to my day sucked because of the commute. There are 2 highways I can take to work. They both converge at a bridge. Highway 1 had a multi vehicle accident so a lot of extra people took Highway 2. There is supposed to be an extra lane on highway 2 during rush hour, but they didn't put the extra lane in today, so there was a huge back up. There is a sinkhole right before the bridge and only 1 lane was open, so another huge back up. Then there was a car on fire. It took me an extra 30 minutes to get to work today.

My actual day at work has been fine. I helped a coworker set up a really cool experiment this morning and I'm doing all the little annoying things that I need to do all afternoon.

I'm technically off all weekend but I have to come into the lab to check the progress of my experiments every day. I'll probably end up working a half-day on Monday to make the rest of my week easier. DH and I are finally going to the fair tomorrow.

  • A nice old man I work with bought me a cupcake so my day is complete. Another coworker was selling them and I was going to be good and not eat one, but you can't turn down a gift. It was a Buckeye cupcake and peanut butter frosting is fantastic.

    College football starts this weekend!
  • Happy birthday weekend, @beharrington‌ !

I woke up in a lazy funk this morning. My project has been delayed for over a month now, and I'm going stir crazy.

On a happy note, DH & I are en route now to San Antonio for a belated birthday weekend! I went to college in SA, so I'm excited to go back and visit some of my favorite places!
  • It's my weekend off and I'm am counting down til 6! I have my hair and makeup trial Saturday afternoon and then I'm going out for a girls night. I figure that will be a good test for hairstyle durability.

Sunday FI and I have to get our seating chart set and then we have a BBQ to attend.

I work Monday and it's the last day of work before I take off for the wedding so I'm sure I'll be super unproductive.
  • Today I went and picked out all the linens and flatware for the wedding.

Then we went to have dinner with a friend, and it turned out to be a surprise dinner with all of our friends from FI's office to congratulate us on the upcoming wedding! Free sushi = best party.

  • We were up late last night watching football so I was dragging ass at work today. Totally worth it since we won. Totally not worth it because today was INPUT AND SEND OUT ALL THE BILLINGS day. At least we got out early.

DH and I went to the mall to replace the khakis he ruined when he left a pen in his pocket when he washed them. I didn't feel like cooking, so we went to one of the restaurants. I got hiccups in the middle of dinner and couldn't finish. :(

  • I'm cranking out this checklist ya'll! Finished the kids' packs (teddy grahams, fruit snacks, crayons, bead maze, blinky ring), and made my flower girl basket and ring bearer pillow! They look totally homemade but whatever, they're done. :-p tomorrow maybe I'll hit up Kinkos for programs, escort cards and the mini coloring books for the kids.
