Worst movie you've seen recently?

A week ago, I was up late on a Saturday night and couldn't sleep. The Canyons was on one of the movie channels. HOLY SHIT. It was actually so bad, that I had to keep watching. All of the acting was awful. The music/soundtrack was equally bad.

  • DH and I just rented "Draft Day".  He loved it, I continued playing on TK on my iPad.  There have been a few other Redbox experimental rentals that we stopped halfway through, but I can't seem to remember them right now....
  • TMNT.

It was so bad we didn't stay for the second movie at the drive in.  I was DONE.

  • My MOH and I were browsing through Netflix the other night for our girls' night and we wanted to watch something scary. MOH picks "The Human Centipede". WHAT THE FUCK, MOH?! Never watch that movie. EVER!!!

  • Noah. There were some brief glimpses of bat-shit crazy Aronovsky brilliance. But mostly it was heinous.

  • My teenage cousin wanted to see Let's Be Cops.  It was even worse than I expected.

I stopped dating someone over that movie. He was insistent that I see it and wouldn't let up. I don't do horror or, umm, that kinda of nastiness. Won't go there.

I almost left FI early in the relationship because of that movie. FSS asked me to watch it with him, I had zero clue how bad it was, but asked FI and called his ex wife if it was ok since it was rated R and FSS was 8. Both of them said it was no big deal the kid had seen worse. I turned it off half an hour in and was ready to leave because of the crappy parenting.

  • We had no idea what it was and then once we realized what was about to happen we shut it off! Seriously it has been bothering me ever since and it has been a week!

  • Ha!  Not a new movie at all, but FI told me he watched Requiem for a Dream last night.  He texted me at the end, and said, "That was the worst movie I have ever seen.

  • FI loves the Riddick movies and I think they are absolutely fucking awful. He and I do not always agree on movies.

    That movie was totally freaky.
  • Worst movie I've ever seen is a tie between Catch That Kid, which I only saw the last 15 minutes of because I was waiting for something else to come on, and Magnolia. I had to watch Magnolia for one of the most bullshit art courses in the history of things.

Honestly, I would have cringed less if I'd had to watch Catch That Kid in its entirety than I did while I sat through Magnolia.

  • Verizon gave us free HBO for 3 months. Magic Mike was on one night so I decided to watch it to see what the fuss was about. I had to turn it off half way through because I just couldn't handle the awfulness of it. Just terrible.

    I kinda liked Magnolia....

I love Aimee Man though. And most of the cast. And the director.

That movie wrecked my soul. I had to watch it for one of my therapy classes in grad school and seriously, it bothered me for days. Even the song gets me now. ::shudders::

My roommate did, too! ...which meant I watched it with her. We sat through the entire thing absolutely speachless. Terribly, terribly heart wrenching.

  • The worst all time movie I ever saw was The Yu-gi-oh movie.  I went with my son and for that I deserve the nicest freaking nursing home on the planet.  We went to the movies together all the time when he was a kid and that was the longest, worst movie everrrrrrr.
  • Identity Thief. I love Melissa McCarthy but that movie was fucking awful. I got embarassment-squicked and turned it off halfway through.

So did I! I think we made it about 20-30 minutes in before throwing in the towel.

  • The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus... It was terrible.
  • Funny that Requiem is mentioned. Remeber that thread about "what's your sexual hell no"....well I didn't know what pegging was. I asked FI to google it because I was scared to, so he did. And when he told me what it was I said "Oh, Ok, I thought it was the 2 chick dildo scene from Requiem for a Dream".

  • The identical. It was so lame. Never saw a more unrealistic movie
  • Santa Claus Conquers the Martians.

    Yeah, it exists.

Also, I once watched a movie on Netflix about Hitler trying to become a supreme vampire by kidnapping the only vampire hybrid heiress in order to control the world.  I don't remember the name of it, but it was horrifyingly terrible.  I wanted to look away but I mean...Hitler becoming a vampire?  Where do people come up with this shit?

  • I recently watched Sinister with Ethan Hawke, it was pretty wretched.  I pretty much knotted the whole time.

  • Latest? The Counselor with the heavenly Michael Fassbender. Oh it was so terrible I could not keep watching it. And Winters Tale? With Colin Farrell and Russell Crowe. I have no idea how they thought that would ever make sense in this life!

Ohhh that movie really bothered me too. That's one of those that bothers me when I wake up in the middle of the night and my brain is like "Oh let's picture this guy hanging outside your doorway"
