Interesting Theme Wedding...

Re: Interesting Theme Wedding...

  • The summer after FI and I started dating we went to one of his friend's weddings. I walked into the reception site and there were people cosplaying Star Wars characters. It was probably the nerdiest thing I'd been to at the time... The lady (who is now my friend) is a super big Star Wars cosplayer so they were all her friends. She also walked down the aisle to one of the Star Wars themes... I forget which now. Knowing them as I do now, I am now surprised she didn't go full theme wedding.

Fi and I love SW. We are not having a themed wedding with one exception. I bought him a Death Star cookie jar for his birthday. We have been debating if we should use that as a wedding card box. That would be the only SW item in the wedding.

Ya know, I think a lot of people use theme were they mean motif and vice versa. Using a nerdy cookie jar as a card holder is a motif. Cosplay ing as characters from WoW is a theme. Having a Tardis cake is a motif. Having Tardises on everything, your officiant in a Tom Baker scarf, wearing chucks, etc, is a theme.
Yeah there's 'small touches' and then there's "Wow, looks like some My Little Ponies exploded in here, my condolences".
....But in all seriousness, I would be FUCKING ESTATIC to attend a My Little Pony Wedding.

I'd so go to a My Little Ponies Exploded wedding.

Do they explode in blood and guts or in sparkles and rainbows?
  • My FI asked if we could leave the could leave the ceremony with people holding light sabers down the aisle, like the sword thing, I smiled and told him he wasn't allowed to make decisions anymore....
