@charlottesmom0626: just FYI, Lucky Jeans has an extra 50% off all sales jeans right now! I'd also keep my eyes out for their other sales. I bought two pairs of jeans in March or April when they had a sale and I think I paid about $120 total.

I used to love AE jeans but the last two pair I've gotten have ended up with holes in the ass/thigh area (...hmmm, maybe that's a junk in the trunk issue, not a band issue, though ;).

I love Joe's. Expensive, but you can get that Nordstrom Rack for under $100.

My mom managed the AE store here since it opened to when it closed. So forever I had AE jeans and I never ONCE had a pair that didn't rip in the thigh/ass. Every fucking pair of those jeans. I remember one day I walked out of the store with a brand new pair on, and didn't even get down the hall before I had to go back to the store because they had ripped. I fucking hate AE jeans.

Come to think of it, I had an AE pair that ripped there too.

Oooh, I'll have to check that out!
  • I started wearing AE jeans religiously at Christmas. The Artist and the Kick Boot are the ones I like best; the Artist rides a little lower than my preference but they have the perfect amount of flare, while the Kick hits a little closer to my waist and has what seems to be a slightly narrower leg. I actually just bought two pair of the Kick a couple of weeks ago - one in short for flat-wearing, and one in regular for heel-wearing. I need some in a "short regular" though... the short feels too short to me.

Skinnies - I've gotten every pair I've ever owned from Hot Topic. I had grey, red and acid wash (yeah, yeah, I'm too old for that shit. I know. It's okay, they were costume. Mostly.). The brand is Lovesick, but they are NOT denim and don't hold their shape well at all. I get a little duck tail by lunchtime in them and have to constantly tug on them to keep them up. So... not really recommended overall.

  • Miss Me brand skinny jeans are my go to. They are expensive but totally worth it as they last (I have an 8 year old pair that still fits/looks like brand new). I love buying anything denim from Buckle, if they have those in your area. Best store ever.
This^ 90% of my jeans are Miss Mes. Love them.

  • Since I'm fashioned impaired, I have to ask: What is the appeal of skinny jeans?? Can you only where them as part of certain outfits? I've never even tried on a pair.

You can wear skinny jeans with a loose top to appear more balanced - lose on to oz right on the bottom. With an awesome pair of heels. If you were to wear a loose top and flare jeans, you tend to look more boho or "groovey" looking, rather than clean with straight lines and the "modern" look.

  • I don't even know how to work skinny jeans, haha. I usually wear them with loose tops, but I pretty much just wore them because I liked them and didn't care about looking goofy. Which my fat ass certainly did look goofy in them.

  • Old Navy for everyday wear, and then I have a pair of Sevens that I found at TJ Maxx for fancy times. I would never pay full price for designer jeans, it's just not practical for me.

Ok. Thanks for the info! !! Maybe I'll try a pair on next time I'm shopping.

  • I also get my jeans from American Eagle. I usually wear their jeggings but I will say their jeggings are a lot thicker than I've found most jeggings to be....they are also a big higher waisted which helps with the sucking in ;)
  • I will find a pair of non-saggy, actually skinny, thick denim jeans.  Somewhere.  Somehow.  I think Levi's, Lucky, and Paige will be my first try-ons.  I forgot how much I used to love Luckies and the denim was pretty good about keeping its shape.

  • I love American Eagle jeans. I like their jeggings and regular skinnies. I have worn this one pair almost every day for close to a year and they still haven't worn out between the thighs. And they are tall enough for me!

  • I just bought 2 pairs of jeans from Loft... I put them on and about died! The most comfortable, soft flattering jeans I've ever owned!
  • My favorite pairs of jeans are by 7 for all mankind.  I only buy them on sale though.  I have a couple of pairs from old navy, and one pair of Joe's Jeans.  I usually buy straight or skinny styles because I have found that flared jeans just make me look stumpy.  Also, has anyone tried the freezer trick?  Where you stick your jeans in the freezer to help them keep their shape and to keep them from stretching out?

  • All of my jeans are from 7 For All Mankind where the size 23 is actually a real fit. Now I know it's a little pricey but they're good that they'll still be well and alive in 10 years!

I started trying the freezer thing this year with brand new jeans, and I really like it. I have never had jeans maintain their wash/fit for so long.
