DIY Wedding map/welcome bags

Might be in another discussion but was wondering about including a map and timeline in my welcome bags. I dont know if i should try to make a little packet myself or just bite the bullet and order some.It seems like i am not finding much online other than invitations.There will be no more then 12 guest all of which are close family staying at several hotels.I would just like to start out the trip everyone on the same page as far as how the night before and day of wedding will go. It seems as tho planing my small wedding in vegas is more work then i thought which i am having a great time doing it.If anyone has ideas or could point me in the right direction that would be great.

A map sounds like a great idea. I included a detailed itinerary in our invites, that way everyone would know where we'd be at what time.

I did a high level itinerary in our invites and will do a detailed map/itinerary in our welcome bag. Check out beautifulweddingannouncements.com as they do smaller orders and you can custom make them at no charge

I'm doing exactly what @hmgiffor‌ is doing...except we're attempting to custom make ours. Note the word attempting. :-)
We're using twine and cardboard covers to make them like little books with program, and itenirary

I created a map that I included with the invitations and then I also designed a postcard with a graphic timeline to go in the welcome bags. The other side has a little message to the guests. I had them printed through Vista Print really inexpensively. Oh, and I also had business cards made with a "Call Anyone But the Bride" list of numbers (Best Man, Maid of Honor, Day of Wedding Coordinator, Groom) in case anyone has questions about anything.

I am trying to attach photos but the board is not letting me.

Still can't attach files. I tried two computers and two different browsers. I think there must be a glitch with the board. It either just sticks on "uploading" or it reverts back to "attach a file" without actually doing so. @vegasgroom, is this something you can look into as a mod or is there another place we can ask about it?

I was planning on making something with all the information for the event and some stuff they can do while there. I found this info graphic that I thought about using but cutting off the top and the bottom and just use "Welcome to Las Vegas...now what? I haven't really tried to do it yet but i'm figuring one side can be this and the other side schedule of all the events planned for the weekend. I figured I can just make it a PDF and have it printed at Staples on some nice cardstock paper

So far so good. We're doing hand drawings I think. In working on a strip map and my fiancé is doing the other drawings. If they look too artsy craftsy we may bail on the idea. We figured since there was no DIY to be done in Vegas this would be the one thing we could be creative with.
We're running out of time though. 66 days!

Wow lots of great ideas that I haven't thought of. This group has been a huge help. Since everything else is pre planed I think I would like a touch of dIy and something personalized so I think I will try to make mine as well. I will post pics when I have something worth showing.

If you go to www.weddingmapper.com you can custom design a map. You will be given the opportunity to plot and label anything you want on a map along with a label. It will then generate a map for you which you can use for anything you like. You can do this for any location in the world.

I quite liked it. I pinned my chapel, hotel, reception location, after party location, airport, etc. They can see from a bird's eye view where everything is taking place.

OK, I think I finally got this to work. *fingers crossed *

The map went in the invitations and the other pieces will go in the welcome bag in a little pocket folder. I've glued a welcome message to the inside and then these cards will be tucked into the pocket. Postcard is 4 x 6 and the "call anyone but the bride" is a business card size. I also made up some "Thank you" message cards to be placed on each plate at the reception.

I bought them from shutterstock.com. I looked around for some free icons but couldn't find any I liked. I'm sure there are other places to get them but I already have a subscription to shutterstock and frankly, I got sick of looking so I just went with what they had.

@dbacksgirl Thanks, I guess ill buy them as well because i have not found any for free saves me some time. Im not a graphic designer by no means but i do have adobe illustrator that im sure i can play around with and learn pretty fast.
