Wedding Woes

Ugh

Dinner last night ended in 6let and I walking out the door for soccer while M2 banshee screamed at the table.  She wanted to go, but hadn't touched a thing.  Max was listless just hanging onto DH.  I'm not sure he ever even had dinner.  I went to bed last night hoping and praying today would be better.

Max was up at 4 saying "all done."  Since he went to bed at 6 he probably was.  I snuggled with him on the couch until M2 started running through the house at 545 screaming because she couldn't find me.  DH is having a crap day and after being out all last week and taking Mon and Tues afternoon off he's got to stay late to get crap done.

MIL is pissed at me.  She wanted to bring grandma over next week to show her the remodel.  Next week is a shitshow and told her it's a really bad week. Then I sent a schedule of the month and she's all "you have something every day! how can we come?"  Weekends are free (but you know she has football games to watch), afternoons and evenings are free (but she has to be home to make dinner for her retired husband), I don't know what to tell you.  Kids have school 4 out of 5 days a week.

Re: Ugh

  • Ugh, I'm sorry, 6.  Rough week all around, it sounds like.  Sounds like MIL needs cough syrup/Benadryl even more than the kids do.  (Kidding about the kids, not so much about MIL.)
  • Boo, 6.  That all sucks. :(
  • Is Max ok?  Getting sick or just wanted his dad?
  • "This is our schedule and it's not a changeable one.  Sorry, you'll be missed."  And let go of the stress.  It's really not your problem if she can't match the schedule your family has.  I know it's easier said than done, but putting your energy towards not feeding into the issues she causes with that will help some.

It sounds like M2 is going through an independence spurt.  :)  Sorry, it has to be difficult.
  • 9 more days, 6.  NINE MORE.  You're ticking them off like a champ.  :)
  • Max has some virus. He's already perked up, but it's raining. Again. Good news is I thought I lost a $50 target gift card, but it had just put it away for safe keeping.
  • Yeah for gift card.  Use it for something just for you that you want but don't need!
  • boo on sleep and sickness issues.

Buffy is at grandma's today because she's not sick enough I need to stay home, but to miserable to go to school, IMO.

I am amazed at how many people don't get that schedules are set.  I mean, I work until 6:45, so...no, unless I take time off, no, I can't do dinner at 7 pm.  Either give me notice so I can take time or schedule it differently or accept I won't be there.  Not rocket surery.
