To be fair though, you get a notification every time someone replies to your post. Yet another notification of everyone sending her an @username page isn't going to make her come back faster, amirite? I think we're all at least a tiny bit curious of how she's doing, definitely. But she will come back in time! I would be hesitant to post after the shit show that happened myself.

Really? I don't get notifications, unless my @name is used...

I get notifications for replies to threads I've started (even without my @name), but I only see the notifications when I log in to TK.

  • Who's coddling?

I get a notification every time someone responds to my own thread as well as a @hkb

Sadly I have never found that option - not for lack of trying!

Oh well I just try to monitor the rare post...

If I started many threads that would probably get annoying anyway!

I think you can change what you do and do not get notifications on.

  • I think so too. I like getting all the notifications but I'm sure others don't. Smichek probably wants to turn hers off.

See, I tend to believe that the adult thing to do is admit when you've fucked up. She hasn't done that. Also, I am genuinely curious as to how her husband and the people in the other car are doing. And finally, if a poster routinely posts about everything going on her life, including multiple threads about the same accident, it's natural to wonder why she isn't posting. It's even weirded when she's obviously been signing on and lurking.

  • You guys need to start doing FFF again, for real.
  • She'll be back in her own time.  I figured she's young, a tad dramatic, and genuinely so worried about her new husband she had tunnel vision that day.

When she comes back, I want to know the family and husband are in good health and her day was relatively drama-free.  Until then, I doubt tagging her in posts will drag her out.  She'll come around.

    Does FFF stand for:
    Fight For Freedom?
    Forced Family Fun?
    Fast Food Freestyle?
    Fred Flintstone Format?
    Anniversary

  • If people want to dig, nobody here can stop them. Posting is another story, but you can't tell people not to dig if they want to.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

I'm not telling people not to dig, but rather telling them to keep that information to themselves.

I'm sure rajah (and others) are legitimately curious as to how her day turned out. She had so much effing drama surrounding every single bit of the wedding and made sure to let everyone know about it. Why would her actual wedding day be any different?

    stuck out of the box...

And then everyone made sure to let her know when she was posting too much, too often, too soon, with too much drama. Why do you think she'd come running back to share happy pictures with everyone? You all wanted her to lay off.

    ************************
Because that's her MO. She absolutely deserved to be called out for the callous way she treated the whole accident.

"Callous" being one possible interpretation and opinion. There are other opinions as well.
    Opinions don't equal the truth.

I guess I don't understand the point of the digging. I mean, sure, it's a free internet and all, but what was the purpose? Just to say neener-neener, I looked at your pictures, and you have skinny ankles, or whatever? I honestly don't get why anyone would make the effort.

If I dig for things it's because my Spidey senses are tingling and I'm suspicious of something(s).
Fair enough. So basically, just to satisfy curiosity.

Forced Family Fun, for sure. Like so:

But heavens forbid anyone should make anyone feel bad.

We can't have those, because they make people feel bad.
If only there was a place where FFF existed...
    But what does it mean?

    Thank you!

I feel sorry for Smichek. I completely understand where she is coming from as a stressed out, new teacher. She's had some real shit in her life. Is there lots of drama, sure. But it's a ton of stuff to deal with. I can't say I'd have done any better at her age.

I wish I could help make things better for her.

For me, yes. I can't speak for others. When something is suspicious to me, I want to investigate.
This. I'm very guilty of digging for info on others (no one on here!). There is a natural curiosity. Unless anyone on here is psychic or has ESP, unless you post about digging, no one on here would know you are doing it. We could all be sitting here with Google open in another window looking up each other. IMHO, once you allude to digging, it invites the curiosity of many others and a ton more questions. It could potentially wade into murky territory. Again, just my take an opinion on it.
