    When your mom flipped out on you for saying you didn't want your sister at your shower, I would have shot back with: "Well, she freaked out at my engagement party for no reason and never apologized, what are you going to do if she does that at my bridal shower?" 

    Maybe your sister feels like she's gone too far with this whole victim thing but must keep going with it or she'll have to admit she was in the wrong the whole time.  Considering how far it's gone that would be incredibly embarrassing.  Not that that helps you out any but it's a rational explanation for very irrational actions.
