Spinoff: Coke or Pepsi

13»

Re: Spinoff: Coke or Pepsi

  • Fountain Coke, then fountain Cherry Coke, then bottled Coke. And then fountain Pepsi; Pepsi in a bottle is too sweet somehow.

I like the Freestyle machines because they have Strawberry Fanta Zero, and if you half and half with the soda water (usually under the Seagram's button) it is delightful. Moe's has the only Freestyle around here, which is dangerous for my waistline.
  • TAB, anyone? I had a committee member in town last weekend who travels with her own TAB because she can't find it anywhere when she travels.

As for me, I don't have a Coke/Pepsi preference, and rarely drink either (gives me the hiccups). I really only drink soda in cocktail form (heaven = gin & ginger ale!).

Vanilla Coke Zero, Pibb Zero (they don't sell it up here :(((((((( ), and coke.

    COKE PRODUCTS ALWAYS FOREVER BYE.

ETA: Soda out of a liter bottle is totally unacceptable.
Vanilla coke is the shit. Especially with booze.

  • Between coke and Pepsi, I'm a coke girl. Of all the cokes, coke zero. All day long.

But really, grape pop is my heat.

  • I have a deep love of Diet Coke. I drink too much of it. McDonald's has helped fuel my addiction with their $1 special (not sure if that's in every market).

I'll always choose water or (unsweetened) iced tea in Pepsi places.

I love Mr. Pibb but I associate it with vacations. We didn't have it in our area growing up so it's a rare vacation treat.

  • We live for dollar drink days in the summer.  We drink way too much pop, especially in the summer.

  • Coke, please.  No, pepsi isn't okay, but if you have Dr. Pepper, that'll do!

Also, in our house it's all coke.

"Hey, babe, can I have a coke please?"  "Sure, what kind?"

     "Orange Fanta/Cherry/Regular, etc.."

@princessofgenovia I have definitely had my fair share of RC!  The real question is, have you ever had it with peanuts inside?

How can you call yourself southernbelle and then go and use the word pop??!!  YOU ARE TURNING MY WORLD UPSIDE DOWN!!! ;)

  • Coke!

Pepsi tastes like overly sweet, flat coke ><
I have a problem where I taste sweet as bitter (my brain gets overwhelmed or something, it's weird though more common than people think), so I can handle maybe 2 or 3 sips of Pepsi before my taste buds start freaking out and my brain goes from sweet to bitter to OMGWHATISTHISPOISONMAKEITSTOP. Coke, though, I can tolerate. Probably because the carbonation always seems to be better and distracts my taste receptors.

Lol!! I'm not totally southern. We moved a lot when I was a kid and I discovered grape pop when we were living in the Midwest. We also lived out east where it is quite officially soda, but "grape pop" just stuck and sounds SO much better than grape soda.

  • Coke all the way, although canned Coke for some reason just tastes amazingly better than the rest.  I will also switch to water or iced tea if the option is Pepsi.

However (and I don't know why), I prefer Pepsi slurpees to Coke ones.

  • Coke> pepsi
    Dr. Pepper> the universe
  • ALWAYS Diet Coke and never Pepsi.  The ranking goes:

    1. Fountain Diet Coke

    2. Diet Coke in a can

    3. Diet Coke in a bottle

Also, I SWEAR McDonalds has the BEST fountain Diet Coke.  I've heard they have a deal with Coca-Cola and have their own special syrup recipe, but that's just a rumor.

My dad did. I hated peanuts until a few years ago, so I always thought he was nuts for doing it.

I have had to train FI to understand that when I say "Do you want a coke?" I'm asking "What kind of carbonated beverage would you like?" because he used to be like "Oh yeah, I want a coke" and then I'd say "What kind?" and he'd just stare at me.
  • This thread inspired me to stop at McDonald's this morning after the DMV to get a diet coke. It's making my morning at work so much better.
  • I don't drink soda very often anymore but I am definitely a Pepsi person. I won't drink Coca-Cola, with the exception of fountain Coke. I don't know why, but that's the only acceptable version for me.

Gin and ginger ale is DH's favorite cocktail. I have always thought he was a weirdo. But apparently he isn't alone.

I love it too! In fact, I had one last night.

  • Gin & ginger ale??? I've never heard of that. I've had Jameson & ginger many times, though, and that's delicious.
  • FYI, Vanilla coke and whiskey right now.
