@cupcait927 You da best. That's within day trip distance! :D

There are also like a million wineries and breweries around Seneca Lake so if you want more suggestions, let me know :)
TK road trip to the Finger Lakes!
That would be the most fun GTG. Everyone can just book a room and we can all get silly on wine and gin all weekend.
Important question. Can we rent an official TK party bus to get us there?
Haha I'm sure we could, but where would it come from? The farthest person away from this winery in upstate NY can rent a bus and then just pick everyone else up along the way? :P
Well yeah. And we can get a second bus to come from the other way. And then at one point the buses would meet up on the same highway. And then someone on one bus would moon the people on the other bus cuz we're mature like that.

These plans need to become a reality, stat.

    LOL!

There's a big difference between the two. . . you know that, right? ;-)

There are places we can get cheese curd, but in a pinch mozzarella does kinda work.

  • reserve my spot for the bus trip winery tour now!!!!

Unrelated, reading this discussion makes me realize just how many cocktails my coconut allergy rules out for me.

    and, also. . . . sparkling. . . . prosecco, cava, champagne, etc.  I have never met a sparkling I didn't like!

So there's a Toronto food truck (clicky) that has a poutine with vindaloo sausage, curds, and this insane british onion gravy.

And now, I'm hungry and craving a drink. DAMMIT TK.

Haha, yes, definitely. I live in OH, but FI lives in PA, and I'm moving there in a month. But for the past almost year, we've been commuting back and forth. He's at my place as much as he can be during the week, since his work schedule is more flexible then, whereas I have an 8-5 M-F thing, so I go to his place on the weekends.

By the time of this magical mystery tour, I'd be living in PA. :P
  • I'll be the mooner!

  • Oh and my other talent: I always have a bottle of Stoli in my bag. Even if it doesn't -- by any logic-- fit in that bag. It's in there.

Yes! Preferably somewhere close to the CA border. I will need your help spotting those dumb ass unmanned speed trap machines.
  • Favorite vacation cocktail: dirty monkey. It's some banana, rum, ice concoction that the cute little Mexican bartenders create at the resort we like to frequent.

I'm a craft beer snob with a dirty secret of Hamm's typically.

    Edit: Words are tough.
People have been telling us these are a must try! So excited to taaaaaaaaaaaste.

I also volunteer to make mixed drinks in camelbaks for everyone's trip.
Not speaking *ahem* from experience or anything....but I may or may not have tried this...and found that sacrificing a tiny amount of mixed drink provides enough room to add a cold gel pack to keep the mixed drinks nice and cold....

Though now that I'm back from a conference in Southern Cal, it's ridiculously cold in FL (we are hitting the 20s tonight, currently in the 30s). I've already had one mug of hot chocolate, and I'm weighing the pros and cons of adding Fireball whiskey vs. peppermint schnapps....any votes?

    Peppermint schnapps, always.
  • I am waiting for the party bus to come get me! It better be making a stop in NC!

Although when I start listing cocktails (and don't get me started on wine! My parents took us on a trip to VA this past spring and we hit up around a dozen wineries/ciderworks) y'all are going to call me a lush. I swear I'm not.

My favorite from our PR trip this summer was the strawberry mojito I drank on the beach. I also had a basil mojito after our rum tasting in Old San Juan. H enjoyed the Coco Loco, but I'm not a coconut fan.

At a friend's house this summer I got kind of smashed on a drink that tasted exactly like pineapple upside-down cake. It had cake vodka and pineapple juice and I'm not sure what else. But it kicked me squarely in the ass before I realized it.

Rum and coke is normally my go-to, with Captain Morgan's or Kraken being my brand of choice. Bacardi is also good.

I also really love when I get a chance to order anything with Ste Germain's. Yummy.

I'm not too picky when it comes to sweet drinks in general.

Right now with the fall/winter weather I'm into spiked cider. Either with dark rum or apple moonshine/liqueur. And plain old hard cider is good too.

My cocktail UO, though: I hate margaritas. They're my mom's favorite but I just think they taste nasty.

Mix that with Kahlua or Anthon Berg and you get After Eights. Boom!

Exactly. I have a bottle of peppermint schnapps just for hot chocolate. That's my favorite winter drink! Fireball is for mixing with Pepsi.
