Have any failures lately?
I tried THESE on Thanksgiving morning and it was a disaster. Here's a picture for those who can't click the link (cucumber roll with avocado spread). The sauce wouldn't spread because the cucumber is mostly water so the spread just like clumped up. The cucumber rolled about half as many times as the picture shows, because any tighter would have broken it in half. They immediately unrolled themselves. I should have taken a damn picture before I threw the whole plate in the garbage.
Re: Pinterest/ recipe fails
I just got a Pinterest account, but I started a separate board for recipe successes, so I know which ones to make again. When I have a terrible recipe, I plan on creating a recipe fail board so I know which ones to not make again, rather than just deleting the pin and repeating the history.
I wanted to share my most favorite pinterest find - these are amazing and so easy to make.(They're on my Pinterest success board)

@charlieyankee03 Maybe....I didn't know there were different kinds of cucumbers!
Latest Pinterest fail was a mac and cheese recipe, but it was my fault for burning the milk...
Latest Pinterest win was this: http://www.halfbakedharvest.com/kale-wild-rice-casserole/
So delicious! I might try it with half light mozzarella, half gruyere next time because with all gruyere it was a bit rich.

My only Pinterest fail: Creamy Avocado Pasta (link)
It's my own fault for not following the instructions properly though. Instead of 2 tablespoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice I think I used two tablespoons (maybe more) of lemon juice concentrate. Oh god...it was so awful and bitter and not even tasty lemony. I couldn't even finish it and I had to toss the entire recipe.
To be honest, I don't trust pinterest recipes! I'm totally jaded by the pintester though (check her out!), where she fails at almost everything. Alot of it is user error haha.
If I'm ever in the mood for something, I just google bobbly flay recipes. He's like my food husband, he doesn't let me down!
It was an expensive fail too because I used avocado oil for the oil part of it and the bottle cost me about 10 bucks!
I'm going to try again, but I'm not sure when.
Ugh, not recently, but when DH and I were doing long distance I made him carrot cake muffins (this recipe, I think-- http://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/cream-cheese-carrot-muffins). I bought a cute little cupcake storage container and took them with me from LA to Chicago........ They were DISGUSTING. DH had one bite and tried to be polite before he finally asked me if he could throw them away.
Whenever I talk about wanting to make something on pinterest, DH always references this fail. I still have no idea what I did wrong. I was so positive all my ingredients/amounts were correct. The only thing I could think of was that the airplane cabin pressure sucked out all of the deliciousness from my cupcakes.
It does get a little frustrating when you see that there are like a dozen different ways to make your own vanilla extract and they all have wee variations. And it's true that popularity might mean nothing, because all those pins might be from people who haven't tried it yet! I try to look at the comments and reviews on the original source site for reassurance.
FYI - Nigella's Guinness Chocolate Cake is the BEST damn chocolate cake I've ever had in my life.
