    More updates:

    Yesterday afternoon, they still hadn't taken him in for surgery so we were afraid the surgery would be really late or they would push it off until today. Another specialist (it seems they had conflicting ideas of what to do) decided not to perform surgery unless absolutely necessary. They are sending him home today with the back brace and he will come back in a couple of weeks to reevaluate to see if he will actually need surgery.

    I'm very glad that he doesn't need surgery right away but we are all a little peeved that the doctors went back and forth so much. We just feel like they should have waited to tell him the final decision until they were all in agreement. He was told on two occasions he needed surgery and told on three occasions he didn't, so it was a lot of emotions.

    There are a million reasons why they were probably going back and forth.
