  • Ok just took the test. It was hard to tell because it seemed like there might have been a line, but it was so faint I couldn't tell. H couldn't tell either. Kinda like it miiiiight be there but might not. I'm going to try another test in the morning when I have more hormones? ETA if it wasn't totally disgusting to post pee stick pictures I would!
Bah! The morning is a whole night away!!!!

Boo. Not a fun update. I would test either tomorrow morning or the day after.

ETA: I meant to say this earlier but forgot. I feel ya on the boob pain. My have been super sore the past couple days.
  • This just sucks ass. Why the hell can't it just be yes or no? Fml

  • Aggh you're killing us!

Well when I've taken tests they were like NOPE really clearly and quickly, so here's hoping...

You better update first thing in the morning, missy!

  • ...or pick up a clear blue (that reads either pregnant or not pregnant...takes the guess work right out of it)

    This.
  • Buy another test! Buy another test!

I mean... I'm supportive of you in this time of uncertainty and realize this might be slightly more stressful for you than it is for us.

Just kidding. Can't wait for Saturday's test!

When I was 25 I had super sore boobs for weeks. Made me super nervous, even tho I take the iron-clad birth control shot. Turns out, they were just growing a bunch. It was like I had hit puberty the sequel. But yeah sore boobs is the worst thing ever. Ever.

Yeah, that too. In my over zealous "what did the damn pee stick say??" fit, I've forgotten all about the other half. Bad Smile!

  • So H is making me kind of sad. He just kept saying if it is positive we will make it work. Then when it wasn't clear he was like well we can try in the summer. :(

He probably doesn't understand that a false positive is really rare, and thinks he's reassuring you, even though a faint positive is probably positive.

I'm sorry. That is kind of insensitive of him. (((Hugs)))

Right, he's probably attempting to be supportive but missing the mark!

Chin up, little lady! Think about how confused you were earlier in the week…then x 100 for your DH. You've had a lot more time to process the potential "what ifs" so he'll likely take some time, too. Just keep talking - regardless of outcome. It'll be all good!

  • When H and I had a pregnancy scare 3 months before our wedding, he was very stoic about it all. If we are, we are and we'll make it work, if we're not, we'll try when we're ready. While I was waffling between hope and panic. I have PCOS, so I wanted it to be positive just so I knew I could conceive, but I also knew we weren't ready. When we were positive I wasn't, I felt silly for feeling disappointed while still feeling a little relieved. I told him I was relieved but also kind of sad, and he admitted he was a little sad too, that for a moment he had actually hoped it would be positive, despite how difficult it would be.

All this to say, your H may feel both ways about it, and he's just not good at expressing that. A positive might make him panic because he has a plan, and now is not the planned time. But he would still be happy to be starting a family with you. And he might be a little disappointed if it's a negative, because he does want to be a father eventually.
  • I am guessing that when he's had a little more time to process it that he'll be more excited. Hugs!

  • I am always so tempted to buy the boxes of 50 tests that people buy when they're trying to get pregnant. Every time I have a preg scare, I buy a box of 2 or 3 and take all of them, and then when I have a preg scare we never have tests in the house.

I've taken preg tests under the following kinds of circumstances:

    1) Period wasn't due for another week but my breasts had been excruciatingly sore for three weeks.
    2) Period wasn't late but I was feeling bloated.
    3) Period wasn't late but I had gotten an IUD and wasn't sure if I was just not getting a period anymore or if it was pregnancy.
    4) No breast tenderness, but I had bad nausea every single day for three weeks and I was feeling super bloated and fat (turns out the nausea was from drinking cranberry juice to prevent UTIs, and the bloated/fat was the result of eating tons of junk food for, like, a month).

Why is this insensitive? I thought she was confused as to whether she wanted to be pregnant now or not?

Just sounds to me like he's unsure too.

  • So I stopped at the Dollar Store on my way home from work to pick up a few things. I almost had to leave without paying because I was laughing so hard. Where other stores have gum and candy at the checkout, this place was loaded with pregnancy tests. Should I buy in bulk?
  • Haha what a climax

Revelation: once I got KU and joined the bump, everyone on my month board was talkig about their stash of pregnancy tests from the dollar store. These women were already pregant, but they just kept needing to make sure they were still pregnant for weeks afterward. I guess if you've had troble conceiving or a history of loss, then pregnant one day doesn't mean pregnant the next...
  • Dollar store tests are often more reliable than the ones with digital read out and they're cheaper too.

If you're not sure if there's a line, take off your ring, put it over the two lines and take a picture. The camera should focus on the ring which will focus on the lines.

FWIW, my second BFP was a really faint line and he's now 3.5 months of snuggly cuteness.
  • Ok so TMI and kind of sad update. Ye have been warned.

Last night at about 1:30 I woke up with the worst cramps I have ever had and my dog was crying and cuddling up to me. I turned on the lights and realized that I had started bleeding. Guys there was blood everywhere. Pretty sure I traumatized my dog.

I started freaking out and called H (who works nights) and he came home right away. We were getting ready to go the the ER but I wanted to wait and see what happened. Eventually the bleeding slowed down and is now like a period.

We both cried a lot last night. I guess he had been secretly hoping I was pregnant. I took the day off from work and we are going to spend it on the couch with our dog and cat.

I will call my I OBGYN when they open and will try to get in today. Assuming things are ok, we have decided to breathe for a couple of months and then will start actively trying.

I'm so sorry this isn't the update you (and most definitely I) were hoping for. Thank you so much for the support. I am astonished that a group of people from the internet would come to mean so much to me. I will be on today and will continue posting like normal and will hopefully be able to bring a happy update to you in a few months.
