Passive aggressive tantrums

Re: Passive aggressive tantrums

  • This is so funny.
Fi's dog (who lives at FFIL's) is such a brat. She howls if you're not paying every bit of attention to her. There's four dogs at their house, and she tattles on them all the time. She's queen b!

  • Pete, my parents' dog, will go to whoever didn't just tell him to lay down. He will put his head under their hand, lean against them, and smile at you. Because you're not his boss.

Daisy sticks her bottom lip out and pouts. She will also look straight at me while I'm calling her to come, and then kind of look around like she's not sure who I'm talking to.

If I'm petting Sophie, Daisy will march over and get in between us and scare Sophie off because she is jealous.

Schultz also does that to Sophie. He will also chase her off at bedtime so he can snuggle my face.

Sophie gets back at both of them by smacking them while she's laying in the remote basket and pretending to be asleep when they turn around.

  • Our puppy is so spoiled that he gets pissy whenever H and I hug or kiss.  He will literally jump up like he's trying to get in the middle of the hug.  He also will do the bark/glare that others have referred to...

@Novella1186 - You might also want to check out Chewy.com - That is where I got our pup's bed and the price was quite good to begin with but it was a fantastic deal when you factored in free shipping and a discount for setting up his food on auto shipment.

Thanks for the resource! Novel has major jealousy issues too! The other day he was sitting on the couch next to FI and I. FI leaned over and kissed me, and while we were kissing, Novel stuck his nose in there and kiss BOTH our mouths. So it was like a really creepy, awkward, three-way kiss. Because he just HAS to be included.

  • We got a second dog because of our yorkie's temper tantrum.

We were watching my parents'* dog for a month or so and our pup really loved having another dog around. The day they picked her back up, he jumped up on our bed and took a HUGE piss. We took that as a sign that he wanted permanent company. And of course we brought home another dog within 2 weeks.

*she was actually my dog that I got in high school, but I couldn't 'take' her to college with me (20 minutes from home) because the on-campus apartments didn't allow freshmen to have cats or dogs. By the time I was living with Fi a few months later, my parents were totally not willing to let me have her back bc she's just that adorable.

  • Our dog throws tantrums all the time. I'm not allowed to have a shower alone with the door closed. If I even try to close the bathroom door, our dogs will howl and scratch it. And the big dog with ram the door with his hard head until he gets what he wants. If I don't let them in our little tub, they then pair up to fish FI's boxers out of his drawer and spread them all around the house. It looks like it rained underwear when they do this. Always FI's underwear, and only his. I've even found underwear caught on the ceiling fan because they will throw it up on the air.
  • My dog, Maverick, totally throws temper tantrums. He will grab my hand or arm softly with his mouth and pull me onto the floor to cuddle him. He could just come lay on the couch but getting me to lay on the floor is way more comfy. haha  He has also just learned that he can use his head to close my books when he wants my attention. FI calls him my defective dog.

We started letting our dog Henry sleep with us when he was a puppy which was a huge mistake because he's now 95 lbs. When we got our second dog, Jake, we figured it would be mean to only let one sleep with us (kicking them both out never crossed our minds). Jake is 85 lbs. So now we have H and I and two massive dogs sleeping in our bed, which is a double.

It gets a little tight sometimes and if Jake takes Henry's spot Henry will stand at the edge of the bed, dig under the covers and find H's back. Then he jabs H with his nose until H moves Jake from Henry's spot. It's hilarious for me as I sleep against a wall so I can't get jabbed.

ETA: if we do kick them out of bed for the night we have to barricade our bedroom door from the outside and close it to prevent the boys from shredding the door or whining all night long.

  • My cat thanked me for taking him to Petco for a trim and de-matting with bath treatment by pissing on one of our tree branches. At least he only got one of the cheapo ornaments and none of the nice ones...
  • My toller fakes a limp. A few years ago she got a growth on her foot that was removed and had a cast for a while. Once it came off, she would still limp around on the foot. When she went to the vet for a check up on the foot, we asked him about it. He said most dogs who had the whole toe removed usually stopped limping by this point, so he agreed she was faking. She stopped after a while but still limps around when she want attention. We tell her to stop and she does. Once when we were on vacation, one of my brother's friends was watching her and she started limping. We told her the dog was faking but she still had her mom come and check. The mom agreed. So now most people know she fakes her limp. That and some times she switches feet between steps.
    This is so fucking adorable.

  • My dog is very vocal (she's a hound mix) and a diva. The other day I was getting a delivery from Sears, and since i had to work I asked my Dad if he could meet the guy at the house and "wrangle the dog" Because she is a sight hound so you can't leave any doors open or she will just run to the next town.

So dad got to the house and she was in our bedroom on her bed, so he figured "ok easy-peasy I'll just close the bedroom door". Delivery guy comes and she starts barking, but not nutty crazy tantrum barks just deliberate, spaced out, repetitive single barks. He walks down the hallway to calm her down expecting her to be on the other side of the door, instead he finds her reclining in the middle of OUR bed, just her head lifted up, demanding that this intruder be expelled from the house from her doggy throne.

  • Oh Novel is adorable! Dogs are so literal. He didn't like the bed, so he told you in the best way he knew, what he thought of it!.

Our late dog Chancey, a Keeshond, was very smart and also was pretty easy to train. He wanted to make us happy, so he did what we wanted.

Once when my husband was whining (a frequent occurrence) Chancey got sick of hearing it, and got up with an indignant attitude, stomped over to the basement steps, went down the steps and out his dog door. He just didn't want to put up with the whining one more time, so he left the house.
