I love the smell of blowing a candle out because it smells like birthday. And the smells of my grandma's house... fabric softener, WD-40 and chalk in the basement; old couch, meatballs and her vanilla musk upstairs. And old crayons... better than new crayons when they have years of people hand smell on the wrapper from coloring ever so delicately as to not break them.

Yes, birthday candle smell! Oh, that's a great one.

Aaaallll the Halloween candy in a plastic trick or treat pumpkin, and you stick your face in and breathe.

It doesn't work with just one kind of candy. It's the combination of all of them, and plastic pumpkin. I may or may not take the pumpkins outside, so I can combo the dry leaf and woodsmoke night smell right on top of it. Ohmygod, that's a smell!

@ohannabelle your description of your grandmother's house sparked my own memories of my great-grandma's house. Love that old stuff/fresh food smell.

I also love the smell of Publix. It's definitely the best smelling grocery store.

TARGET! Popcorn, new clothes.

When I was a kid and got clothes for Christmas I'd always dig my nose into them and smell. I could tell whether they were from KMart, Target or KidsMart by the way they smelled. KMart smelled more like shoe rubber and KidsMart was sweeter and less popcorny. Target is my favorite.

When I was a kid, I loved the smell of gasoline. Nothing like a whiff of diesel I'd roll down the window at the gas station and stick my nose out. It gave mom a migraine. Now, I can't stand the smell. I wonder how many brain cells I killed at the gas station.

My favorite weird smells: puppys' breath, bandaids, bleach (love water fountains!) and marigolds.

I too love the smell of gasoline and certain plastics. And old cars or motorcycles with carburetors. I like mothballs too because they remind me of my grandma's house. I think my dog smells good. I like the smell of slightly burnt pizzas. New car smell is one of the best things ever. It is literally worth $25,000 to get that smell. The fake smell is terrible.

Also in regards to the farts, I swear it's something in your DNA that makes you like the smell of your own farts, because otherwise I'd be constantly sickened. I fart like... all the time....

My weird smell is ferrets. They have a definite musk about them but I've had 3 in the past and loved them so much and now that smell is so comforting to me.

I think as a result of this I also kinda like skunk smell. Not when it's right up in your face and makes you tear up, but when you smell it passing in the car.

I was in a key store today and they had the sweetest ferrets. Like all them wanted to be picked up and petted. It was so sweet.

Escalator gear oil. Not when freshly applied, but the smell someone carries when they were around it for more than a a half hour or so. Reminds me of my dad coming home from work when I was little. Especially if that smell is on their jacket.

I have ferrets too! I like the way they smell if they are sort of close, but too close, bleh. It's not as bad as people make it out to be though if you keep their cage clean. Also it's incredible how they can stink up a room when they drop a shit. Or the amount of shit they drop in general.

This is what I was going to say! I love the way my cat smells, but I can't describe it.

I also love the smell of asphalt in the summer after a rain, blown out matches, a real Christmas tree (or Yankee Candle's Mistletoe is a good substitute), leather, sun tan lotion, coconut, and pretty much anything FI cooks.

I like the metallic smell that soil gives off after rain, too. I really love the smell of sea urchin, too. I might be alone in eating it, let alone liking how it smells. It smells like the ocean. I usually pick a great white wine to pair with it and I like how the rim of my wine glass continues to smell like uni after I'm long done eating it.

Swimming pools with chlorine. Like when you walk into a hotel and the chlorine content is so high you can smell it from the lobby... yeah I like it. This comes from years of competitive swimming I'm sure.

Original Chapstick smells like childhood. Coconut smells.

I was at an event and a pizza delivery guy passed, I got a nose full of the aroma of fresh pizza. It was heaven.
