How often do you wash your hair?

Every other day. My hair is very fine so it shows grease. Newsflash! You can take a shower and not wash your hair!

Yes! and the time it saves in the morning when you don't have to wash your hair is worth it to me.
Yup. It's so worth that 15min shower 2x a week when I only have 2-3min showers other days. Makes getting up at 5:30 more tolerable.

  • I'm a daily girl, in less it's the weekend and I just don't want to bother with showering/pants/leaving the house.

I use product in my hair everyday, so I feel like I gotta wash that out.
  • I wash mine every 2-3 days. I use dry shampoo on the 3rd day if I don't wash it. Although now I sort of want to try baby powder and see how that works.

I have super thick hair that luckily only looks greasy if I use too much product/haven't washed it in awhile.

  • Usually every other day, depending on my workouts. I try and workout every other morning, and then i will shower afterwards. Then the day off from work out I'll skip washing my hair.

I have straight across bangs and I tend to get really warm at night and wake up with disgusting greasy bangs. So on off shower days Ill either pin them back cute, or just wash my bangs depending on their level of yuck.

  • Wash & straighten, 2nd day still straight looks great, 3rd day is when it starts getting a little too oily to wear down, I do a messy bun that day. So like every 3 days.

  • I try to wash it every other day but want to do it daily. I probably do it 4 times a week.

I have never liked dry shampoos. I'm also not a fan of the smell of baby powder. My solution has been corn starch in a shaker. No smell, easy to apply.

  • I have found, if I wash it every other day, and condition on the odd day, it feels just like it was washed.

My hair is thick and aside from bedhead, I can go every other day. I'm not in the no-poo group but they have some good points.

  • At least once a day during the week. There are very specific rules about showering, which includes shampooing your hair, for moving between different research zones at work. If I don't need to move between research zones I rotate between washing my hair one morning than the next day at night, so about every 1.5 days.

  • Every 3-4 days. I used to do every other day, but I'm lazy and my hair kinda got used to going longer between washings.

  • My hair is fine and oily, so I kind of have to wash it every day.  Every once in a while I can stretch it out to two days and use dry shampoo.  But if I go to the gym or work out it's all over and I have to wash it.

  • Every day, but my hair is short so I don't use much shampoo. I have weird hair (if you pull out a small chunk of my hair, you'll find I have thick and fine hairs all mixed in) so gunk and grease get trapped in there and it gets pretty gross if I don't wash it.

See for me, the drying is what takes the longest (and does the most damage), so just conditioning it would totally defeat the purpose.

In other news, my blow dryer picked a really wonderful time to DIE on me yesterday, and there's no way in hell I'm stepping foot into Target until mid-January, so who knows when the next time will be that my hair gets properly blow-dried. :-p I'm thinking I might splurge on a professional one ala Amazon.

I recommend the Jose Eber Infrared blow dryer (from Amazon) it takes me about 7-8 minutes to dry my hair, and my hair is long, medium thickness.  I got mine there for about $80 and it's been worth it.

That's me too. My hair is long and pretty thick too, so if I leave to to air dry it takes literally all day. So I just do it twice a week. It's the one benefit to having dry skin, nails, and hair is that at least I don't get oily/greasy unless I leave it an entire week (did that camping once...shudder.)

  • Every other day.

  • I used to be able to wash my hair twice a week (every 3-4 days), but recently it's been much greasier, and I'm having to wash every 2 days. I hate it! It takes forever to dry, and I really dislike going to bed with wet hair.
    image
  • My hair can get pretty greasy, especially now that it's short again. I tend to wash it every other day. If my bangs get super greasy, I'll do a sink wash.

  • I have curly, dry hair so I don't use shampoo on my hair more than once every week or two. Even then only on my scalp. Before I was working out so much it as even less. I do have to condition my had every day to bring the curls back from the frizzy mess it will become each night.

  • I've trained my hair to go 3-4 days without shampooing. Boom.

This! It takes so long to straighten or curl my hair, so not having to wash it frequently saves my schedule. I've never used dry shampoo - I'm kinda curious.

  • I wash my hair every other day. I am trying to train it, but it isn't going very well! It gets really greasy, so I will just throw it up in a bun on the off days.

  • Every other day, unless I'm camping.

  • At least every other day or its greasy. I hate feeling like a greasehead.
  • Im trying to wash less but as of right now I'm still doing it everyday. Kinda sucks because it takes at least an hour and 20 min to do the full shower/style hair/makeup routine.

I recently bought some dry shampoo that I do like: Pillow Proof by Redken. I used to keep tresseme's dry shampoo on hand for emergencies but I won't go back to that after having used Pillow Proof.

  • I wet my hair daily, but wash it once every 2 weeks or so. My hair is super curly so it needs all the natural moisture it can get.

  • Every single morning. I can't even wash it at night or you'd be able to fry breakfast in it the next morning. It's also pin straight and won't hold a curl. It sucks, because I'd love to be one of those people who can roll their hair or braid it and night and it be curly in the morning.
  • depends on my mood. usually every day sometimes (usually only once a week) i skip doing it but not all the time

  • I prefer to wash it every day, but I've been trying to only wash it every other day lately.  I can tell it's greasy if I don't and it's super flat.  I've tried using dry shampoo, and it works ok.  But H thinks it smells terrible, and I feel like I can only either put in too much (where it looks like I'm going gray) or too little where it doesn't work.

I just saw an ad for Aussie dry shampoo, and I'm hoping to get some of that soon.  I love Aussie products.
  • I have very fine hair, so if I don't wash it every day it looks disgusting. Also, dry shampoo makes it worse. I haven't tried baby powder but I may have to do this on a day off.

My hairdresser suggested that I put conditioner in the roots while my hair is dry, then wet the top and just shampoo the roots. Then rinse it all out and the conditioner will protect the ends from the water, which dries them out. I tried it once but it was awkward so I haven't tried it again since.
