  What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

  Smile: my bosses have been talking about hiring another reporter and potentially making that position focus more on the website/social media side of things. (I work for a small newspaper.) so my boss talked to me and said if I was interested I could maybe move into that position and hire another reporter to take my position. I said I was definitely interested and I really hope it works out.
  
  Groan: I hate Fridays because I have to work on Sat and it's such a slow day, I have a hard time not being lazy and getting stuff done.

  Getting ready to start a new dresser, which is exciting. So many great antique ads to choose from. I am in love with an old Lion's Coffee ad, but hesitating. French advertising things move a lot faster than American, no idea why. 

  So looked at many old advertisements, did some laundry, avoided taking the tree down, went to the grocery store and then the marijuana store (that's always hilarious.) Very nice young men working there, and it still amuses me to see what's on sale and what new produce is in. A new kind of shopping. And it's very cheerful. Good optimistic energy. Chatted nostalgia with a nice older gentleman who was shopping with his grandson, and we made the youngs laugh. It's a marvelous new world, with a good deal more common sense than the old one.

  Getting ready to build a little fire, make a pot of rigatoni, and enjoy my night, and am giving the tree one more night.

  We moved ALL the furniture over today and get to sleep in our new house for the first time tonight. Aaaannnd we plugged in our reclining sofas and BLEW (not trip!) a fuse and cannot get the lights, outlets or fireplace to turn on for half of the first floor. #joysofhomeownership
  
  Hopefully an electrician can come out tomorrow..

  Well DH has been arguing with me for 2 years that he wants a pickup truck and I kept saying no. Because really we don't need it, it's so much more expensive than a car, I'm just a practical person. Why spend so much money on something when your car is fine?! 

  Well I finally gave in tonight and let him buy one! My brother sells cars and he had a 1 year old one we saw online and wanted. We left work early at 3 to go get it and he ended up taking us into the brand new one instead. Such a salesman. But legit, it's brand new with heated seats and touch screen and totally worth the extra 5k hahah

  And I told DH he can no longer EVER complain about my vacation choices, and he must smile his fucking face off in Iceland lol

  Ugh good question.  At first the doctor was worried I had contracted some weird disease in Fiji, so there was some blood work over the past month, but luckily it turns out it's just a case of alopecia areta.  Instead of losing little spots on my head, though, I lost my entire eyebrow.  I guess they don't really know what causes it--and especially not why it happened where it did on me.  Bodies are so weird.

  
  

  But after my shots (ouchy) I treated myself with a trip to the marijuana store today as well, so no more complaining from me!
