Have you worn any of your wedding stuff since?

Re: Have you worn any of your wedding stuff since?

  • Not yet. It's hard to rewear white satin shoes. I would definitely wear the jewelry again, I just haven't had the opportunity.

I guess I did wear the corset again on the honeymoon...

  • It's only been 3 1/2 weeks since my wedding but I already know I won't fit back into it. I've worn my earrings since, and I was going to wear my headband on NYE but decided against it. I'll definitely wear the shoes again.

My dress had a plain skirt so I could shorten it without losing the beading and ruching, and maybe wear it when H and I go to Hawaii in the summer. I think I'll definitely put it on on our 1st anniversary, shortened or not.

  • My dress was a corset back and when my sister strapped me in, she tied a hell of a knot and cut off the excess. H had to cut the ribbon to get me out of the dress. So I'd have to get a new ribbon to wear it again. :(
Wha wha wha WHAT?! But whyyyyy?!
It would have taken a LONG time to get me out without cutting it. There were more important things happening at that moment.

  • Not yet, but I intend to wear my shoes at some point (I got them because I'd been looking for a pair like them for years and knew I could re-wear them).

  • If anyone can help me style my ivory satin shoes with a more normal dress, I'll love you forever. I adored these shoes.... To the point where my mom was looking at my photos online and saying, "You have a lot of shoe pictures." Damn straight I did...

  • The jewelry I wore for my wedding is part of my normal jewelry rotation, so they've been worn quite a bit since the wedding. One pair of shoes has been worn probably a half dozen times since the wedding, and the other pair made an appearance at another wedding a couple months ago. I've packed the dresses up for donation, so hopefully someone will be able to wear and enjoy them.

  • I'm wearing a bunch of stuff I already own and wear, so I'll continue to do so after my wedding. My wedding shoes (sparkly turquoise heels) have already been on a few nights out and I don't think I'm buying special jewelry, so that's that.

My mom is OBSESSED with the idea of me wearing a tiara though and after I flat-out refused, she went out and bought me a sparkly headband, so if I get roped into wearing it, I definitely won't be wearing it again.

@thisismynickname I have a navy, green & white floral dress that I'd totally wear those shoes with! It's like a sheath shape (tight), knee length.

  • I will for sure wear my shoes once summer hits - they are floral pumps, so they don't exactly go with six inches of snow :)

My earrings will be reworn for special, fancy schmancy occasions.

Thinking back to not wearing my white satin shoes... they are dyable type so I'm thinking of taking them and getting them black.  I would def wear them then.
  • I have worn my shoes (blue snakeprint Stuart Weitzman pumps).  I don't wear heels often, but these are the only "designer" shoes I own and they are a million times more comfortable than any of my other heels, so they are now my go-to dress shoes.  But, I bought more expensive shoes with the intent of getting something that wouldn't kill my feet on my wedding day and that would be wearable afterward.  I figured why shouldn't I spend money on shoes that I'll wear again, and that could seriously impact my wedding day comfort, when it was okay to spend $1000 on a dress that I'll wear once... so I did include good shoes as a significant budget item.

DH bought me my wedding jewelry (tanzanite & diamond - photo below).  I had originally planned to wear it more often, but it's somewhat formal and a bit too fancy to wear every day with t-shirts & jeans.  I do wear it whenever we dress up though.

And, since my blue shoes and blue jewelry from the wedding are now my dressy favorites, I do find them being a factor when shopping for new dresses or dressier clothes. I tend to look for outfits that will go with my shoes & necklace now, instead of the other way around.

My hair clips are a bit too sparkly for everyday, but they are sitting on a shelf with our champagne glasses & wedding albums.

My dress is still hanging in my home office and I still need to get it cleaned (6+ months since wedding).  My intent is to sell or donate it whenever I get around to doing so. But, I will say the urge has come a few times to go try it on, because I absolutely loved my dress.

I am going to have to remember that for next NYE if we do anything fancy.  I usually hate NYE but I will go out and dress up if it means I can wear my awesome headband again.

  • We also cut my headband off. I'm learning that we're impatient.

  • I wore nude open-toed slingbacks from Cole Haan. I've worn them in black for years so I'll inevitably wear these a lot too, once the snow subsides.

There's not much else I could wear- borrowed jewelry, no bra, broken hair piece, etc. Only the dress and it's already too small.

  • I've worn the underwear from my wedding day but that's it. My headband is too fancy for anything I'll ever go to, and I don't wear jewelry so the earrings most likely won't get worn again. My shoes were ivory kitten heel sandals that I never see myself wearing again and should just sell or donate them.

I need to get rid of my dress as well. I absolutely hate my dress and can't even bring myself to look at it since the wedding, let alone put it on again.

  • Nope. None of it. I love my bright green pumps but just haven't found the occasion. They're patiently waiting for me. :)

  • I've worn the shoes...3 times now I think. And the dress once.

The jewelry a few times too but honestly it was mostly stuff I already owned. Nothing too special.

Ditto.  This makes me sad to hear you hate your dress.

I got myself way too stressed about the dress shopping experience and ended up with something I hated by the time the wedding day rolled around. I settled for something that I only kind of loved because I was so concerned about the budget and not going over it. Then the alterations went horrendously so I hated it even more. I will forever regret (sounds so dramatic, I know) not buying the very first dress I tried on. It was stunning and the only one that made my mom cry happy tears. But it would've been about $500 over budget when all was said and done and at the time I couldn't bring myself to do it. Now, I wish I had. I'd wear that dress every damn day.
  • Not married yet, but I've worn the bra/tummy-sucker-inner under dresses for several other weddings already. And I wear my shoes around the house. Both because they are amazing and because they are tight and I'm hoping I can stretch them out before the wedding!

  • I have worn my shoes again (Kate Spade Charm in silver) and the panties I wore underneath, but it was just a black seamless thong.

  • I've worn all my jewellery again already to a staff party and I wore the shawl I made for the same occasion. My shoes were a bit too big but they're actually designed to be flats worn while backpacking once you set up your campsite. They'll get used for sure this summer.

I already rewore my dress a week after the wedding on a hike we did to get some epic pictures. I'll put it on again when I'm around the house one day likely. Otherwise I'll probably never wear it again. I love them so here's a few!

  • My friend had a large joint Bachelor/Batchelorette party in which they asked everyone to come dressed as "sexy brides and grooms". Well I had a knee length white wedding dress I changed into for about the last hour of the night so I could get in some crazy swing dance moves with my husband (the lady I bought my dress gave it to me since she knew I was a dancer. It was a display dress they were getting rid of). So I wore that to the party! I have also worn the earings and shoes.

  • I wore the bracelet to a fancy work event last month. I almost wore the earrings too but opted instead of wear a wedding gift. Which isn't too different.

My dress is still hanging in my closet. Unwashed and un-preserved! I need to do that.

  • I've worn shoes several times. I've worn the dress a couple of times too. My dress wasn't fancy though and is mint green.
  • I wore my necklace and earrings to a Christmas party.

I still tell DH he's gonna find me in my wedding dress one day, begging him to lace the corset up before he can undo it again..

Yep. I've worn the necklace, earrings, and bracelet (simple pearls), bolero (pretty causal, really), and the shoes multiple times.

I mean, what occasion are these shoes NOT appropriate for, really?!
    image

Hint: The answer is none. No such occasion exists.
  • I wore a pearl set for the wedding and have worn it a few times since. I expect to get a lot of wears out of it.

I've worn my shoes a few times.

I put on my wedding dress for our first anniversary and was planning to do so for our second but totally spaced.
