  • @TwoDimes beautiful dress!

    @Blackbird230 yay for booking a venue!

  • @TwoDimes You're SO gorgeous! I'm so glad that's the one you picked because you look absolutely spectacular in it! It's a show stopper and your FI's mouth is going to drop when he sees you in it! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What dress did your sister pick to wear? I really wish we had gotten a different dress for @southernpeach89. She tried on this amazing dress that looked incredible on her and I wish we had just run with it.

    @Blackbird230 Congrats on penciling in a date! What's the venue like?

  • @labro it's a colonial era Inn. Was a private estate when built, then a National Armory. When it was the armory, they actually turned part of the estate. Let me see if I can dig up some pictures. I'm on a library computer.

  • @Blackbird230 - So exciting!!  I love winter weddings!

    @AuroraRose41 - I got a wedding invite recently for me without Mr. H.  I was really upset by it...like...really?!

    @TwoDimes - That dress is GORGEOUS.  I love the keyhole back on you.

    @ourladyofpotato - I'm doing the same thing - bacon for breakfast and chicken for dinner and then ALL the fish for the next 40 days.

    @Ellis1228 - Purse porn pics?

    @phira and @500days - I am in awe that you all are even still functioning at all after the snow.  I have a friend in Boston who sent me pics yesterday (to show how pointless our "snow" day was back here at home)...it's absolutely insane.

    --------------
    I had a great weekend, even though I was sick for basically all of it.  My little sniffles turned into full-on bronchitis and so I'm still sort of feeling puny.

    Friday I came home from work and found every candle lit and all my Christmas lights on and rose petals everywhere, plus a dozen roses and a basket of chocolate on the table.  He done good.  :-)  We relaxed at home and then had late reservations at a Brazilian steakhouse...so.  good.  I ate enough meat to last me ALL of Lent.

    Saturday we relaxed at home all day...I think we went out so I could grab some cough drops and then spent the rest of the day on the couch.  I made pasta with shrimp marinara for dinner, and we watched The Interview that night.  Sunday I had a hymn festival at church and then my parents came over for lunch.  We spent the rest of the day watching James Bond movies and riffing on them (because it's fun).  He was going to leave yesterday, but then it iced and everything was closed, so we had an extra day.  Last night we stayed up forever late and binged on Season 4 of Game of Thrones.

    Basically, we did everything we could together to relax and create some sense of normality, because...he leaves for Afghanistan at the end of the month.  In the end, I know it was the best decision, and it was a decision we made together, but at the moment I don't really give a crap about that and I just already miss him.  So I'm giving myself the rest of today to be mopey and sad and then tomorrow I'll put on my big girl panties and deal with it.

    And by "mopey and sad," I mean "drinking wine in bed at 4:00 in the afternoon and planning on going to sleep as early as possible."
  • Just walked home from work. 3 miles, snow/slush-covered sidewalks, lots of hills ... I cannot believe they aren't doing shuttles.
