I love your bedding! West Elm has the best stuff.

I tried Soul Cycle for the first time a week ago- loved it, but yes, the bits hurt :)

Do I see a Knottie NYC field trip to Soul Cycle in our future?!
I will totally come into the city for this. Once it's warmer.
Yes let's do it!  This weekend there is one with all backstreet boys and nsync music.  I'm kind of sad I can't go haha

  • So glad you're back, and that you're killin' it with life!

I have never SoulCycled (I can't wrap my head around the cost, honestly) but I bike when it's nice out to train for triathlons--it gets better. I did, however, buy myself a nice gel-cushioned seat for my bike with anatomical "cut-outs." I'm not sure what SoulCycle offers, but for like, a dollar a minute they should give you whatever you want.
So there is another place, Peleton, that's a similar idea and if you sign up for an account, your first class is free!  It's on 23rd in Chelsea, I'm going to try it out when I get back from LA if you wanna come with!  It's the same idea as Soul Cycle apparently
I could probably be convinced...it's about to be time to get my bike legs back. :)
Ok I think sign up is on the first weds of every month so we'll look into it next week!

  • Welcome back, @laqueredlover! I don't work out, ever, and spinning sounds downright painful. I'll happily continue getting fluffier now that I'm married. What's DH gonna do, divorce me? HA!

If you're feeling adventurous, come to Jersey. I'll introduce you to my ridiculous crafting/makeup room. Why yes, I devoted the entire spare bedroom of our stupidly-expensive-for-the-'burbs apartment to my girly pursuits. And then made DH rent 2 garage spaces so his dude stuff had a place to live that wasn't our living room.

  • So happy to hear that you're doing well!! The bedding looks amazing, and so comfy. I used to know how to crochet but I only ever did scarves.

  • Hey!  I`m glad to get an update on you and hear you are okay.

  • Re sore lady bits: I would totally recommend some bike shorts. They feel like you are wearing a diaper, but they make a HUGE difference.

  • Great to see you back! And glad you're taking these initiatives - I'm sure it feels awesome to have a fresh start.

I always feel like I lost my bits after spin. For days. I can't do it for that reason. I'll do anything BUT spin. I know it's really popular right now, but I just can't. One program that kicked my ass was P90X. Takes some time commitment and self motivation, but if you want to look amazing naked, that's the ticket right there.

  • So glad to hear from you!

I love knitting and crocheting. It's a really relaxing hobby and I get to make fun stuff that can be useful. I've mostly been making blankets now. I made some ridiculously huge crocheted blankets in college. Since my sisters started having children I've been doing lots of baby blankets, which is nice because they are a lot faster than adult blankets.

  • Yeah I told all my friends they will be getting blankets now.

I'm also doing Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred and Kickboxing on top of the spinning to switch it up (and because it's so cold in NYC I don't want to leave my apartment unless necessary for work or to see friends.)

    I'm in!!

I don't go to the one in Chelsea yet, but I wanted to try one of them out. Is that the one on 27th? Because it is across the street from my Kickboxing gym. There is also Swerve, where my favorite boxing instructor now teaches.I was considering following him there, haha.

I want to box.  I want to hit things.  I think it will be cathartic.
I'd rather box than bike. The only things I like about triathlon are A. the swim, and B. the sense of accomplishment when it's done. Biking and running are both kind of meh for me.

Boxing is amazeballs. I had a shrink recommend it to me to work through my issues cause hitting real people is wrong and bad (apparently), but hitting a punching bag is perfectly acceptable.

Its also one hell of a good work out.

(I don't know what is happening with the boxes)

I did kick boxing and my instructor was a registered MMA fighter. We ended up doing some MMA stuff. I got to throw him, which was pretty much one of the highlights of my life. And every single time i left class, I felt fucking AWSOME. It's a good workout plus it gets all the stress out to punch and kick shit, plus you feel totally empowered afterwards.

I remember after one of my classes I went out with some friends and this douchey guy came up to me in the bar and started saying a bunch of rude bullshit. I just smiled and thought to myself "I know six different ways to break your arm, you stupid asshole." Ha!

  • o hai pretty lady  :)

So glad to see you back and kicking ass.  Boxing is awesome.  As in any sport where you can punch things.  (My college offered taekwondo....I earned about 8 credits over the years while kicking douchy boys.  It was so fucking cathartic.)

I actually cannot ride a regular bike but a stationary bike requires no balance!
