(Originally titled wake up Wednesday before I realized wishful Wednesday was the actual Wednesday theme. OOPS! excuse the new girl she's a little slow before noon)

Good morning all! I figured since I'm up and at work before the sun I'd start this thread and hopefully you all are having a less annoying morning than I am!
I have the pleasure of working with the chattiest human in existence this morning and I just. Can't. Take it.
"Yeah on Saturday I did this thing and that thing and my friend wouldn't let me drive home but he made coffee and he was born and raised in Italy and it was great by the way I just did this for my wedding what do you think?"
And since I'm the boss I can't just shake her and scream that it's not even 6:30 am and I need at least two more cups of coffee before being able to deal with you and also I DONT CARE ABOUT YOUR WEDDING. UGH. Good thing the coffee is free and unlimited otherwise I'd be some type of monster (scary thought!)

In other news, after I get off here at 12 I'm working at my friends store because I am a workaholic so I've got a 12ish hour day ahead.
What's everyone else got on their plate this morning?

Re: Wishful Wednesday

  • @untouchablets - I also hate too-chatty CW's, especially first thing in the morning. My brain needs time to wake up.

@Swazzle - I love your attack kitten. I hope he NEVER changes.

@southernpeach89 - SQUEEEEEEEEEEEE - you get to see baby peach later! I also just pictured Princess Peach from Super Mario Bros. and am now putting my bets on "it" being a "she".

I had to go out for a work dinner last night with a few cw's, my boss, and my boss's boss. I think I made a really good impression and I fortunately managed to not totally ruin my diet even though we went to a good Italian place.

Tonight, I'm hoping I get to go straight home from work and don't need to go out with work people again. I have only made it to the gym once in two weeks and am feeling very unmotivated lately. I need to get back into it!

Random O/T - is anyone else watching "Togetherness" ? FI and I just watched the season finale last night and I thought it was SO GOOD. I want to talk about with someone!

  • After work today I am going out to dinner with a friend I haven't seen in almost a year. After that I need to go to Target to buy a new mop.. so fun.

Morning chatter-boxes are the WORST. I am a morning person, 100%, but that doesn't mean I want to hear you go on and on and on about everything!

I have an interview today for a new position- I hope it goes well!

  • @hummingbird125 -My mom thinks it's a girl already too because with our initial ultrasound, the heartbeat was considered fast to my mom lol. My doctor was like, "oh that's normal" but my mom is convinced it's a girl. I know @labro would love to have a niece too.
  • @southernpeach89 - Yay for seeing Baby Peach! Are you guys going to find out if Baby Peach is a boy or a girl when the time comes?

@Hummingbird125 - He was awful last night! I looked away for 2 seconds and he pawed the rice off of my plate and onto the floor where he scarfed it down. So, I built a fortress and he somehow broke it down and was eating from my plate. SO BAD. What's Togetherness about?

@ashleybunny8 - Good luck at your interview!

@TwoDimes - I forget if you guys painted your living room? Our couch comes on Saturday so I've been holding off with buying anything until then so I can see it IRL and in our space. The dining room is partially open to the living room so I've also been waiting on getting curtains and things for in there too. I'm so impatient though, I've been browsing daily for weeks now! As for your invitations and flowers, just remember that you can get gorgeous invitations for very little nowadays especially if you're able to print them yourself. And most people don't even bother keeping the invitation after the wedding so there's also that. I'm not a huge flower person and couldn't have cared less about them at my wedding so I gave the florist free range over them and said to just keep it under my budget. It turned out BEAUTIFUL.

  •  @minskat - BF and I are still on our diet, so our options are limited. We are going to go to Zoe's kitchen, since most of the menu is healthy. I will probably get a quinoa salad with grilled chicken.

    @swazzle @keptinstitches - thank you both!

  • @swazzle -Oh definitely. I'm way too impatient to wait to find out the sex. We will probably do a gender neutral nursery but I would like to know ahead of time so we can start saying the name and getting clothes and all that. It makes me excited to know before the baby is born too.
  • @southerpeach89 yay for being able to see baby peach tomorrow.

I am exhausted I have been this whole week.I blame DLS I wish we would just get rid of it honestly.  Tonight starts vacation and I know today at work is just going to drag, and I don't have that much to do anyway.  I can't wait to be on the beach with a drink in hand!

    Anniversary

  • Good morning.  I really overdid it yesterday, so I was up until 4 AM hurting.  I am online working for a little bit but I'll take some leave to sleep later in the day.  I've got some weird, hard lump under the incision so hopefully that goes away!

    @speakeasy14 - I love that onesie!!

@southernpeach89 - Have fun at your U/S tomorrow!!  I'm sure you'll be sending baby peach all the kisses through the screen.

@minskat30 - I want your vacation!!!!  It sounds fabulous!!
  • @speakeasy14 I'm only 12 weeks so a couple of these questions I don't really know the answer to yet but I can do my best lol:

Morning sickness: Yes - Girl, No - Boy- I've had some nausea throughout the 1st trimester but no extreme vomiting so I'll vote more on the side of No.
Hearbeat: Over 140 beats - Girl, Under 140 beats - Boy- The first ultrasound the heartbeat was at 158 so tomorrow it could be different. We shall see.
Belly looks: Watermelon - Girl, Basketball - Boy- My belly is not nearly big enough yet to answer this question lol. Baby Peach is only the size of a Plum right now.
Skin: Worse than normal - Girl, Better than normal - Boy- My skin has been breaking out like a teenager going through puberty. It's gross but I've heard this can go either way.
Cravings: Sweets & Orange juice - Girl, Salty & sour - Boy- I've been craving specifically Fruit and Juice like every day. I do crave pickles too though.
Side sleep on: Right - girl, Left - boy- I sleep on both sides so far.

@TwoDimes I do know that Minted offers a free addressing service at least! And I really love those invitations!

  • That sounds stressful! I like my alone time in the morning lol.

Most of my office is in a conference today, so there's only 3 (including myself) people in the office today. We are ordering lunch for ourselves wewt. I'm leaving work early and taking MIL for a massage. She's off work for stress leave and retiring soon, so wants to use up her benefits lol. Pretty slack day overall.

@TwoDimes Everyone here has sold me on Minted invitations too. The free addressing service alone is worth any budget overage. The invitations you picked out are really cute! I checked their Facebook posts from last year, and it looks like the only time the discount is more than 15% is around Black Friday. They stick to 15% the rest of the year.
@untouchablets Until I have my morning tea, I am silent. I don't understand people who can chatter like that so early in the morning. Where do they get the energy?
@Swazzle That's awesome that you got such a great deal on a dining set! That's practically unheard of! We got ours at Ikea a couple of years ago and definitely spent waaaay more.
@southernpeach89 Awww yay for seeing baby peach! I also vote girl.
@KeptInStitches Congrats to your brother! How exciting!
@labro I'm going to start calling you Martha Stewart. Your house is too cute!
@minskat30 Sounds like you guys are going to have a fantastic vacation!
@allusive007 Less than 50 days?? Omg! That's so exciting!
@GoldenPenguin I volunteer as tribute for any leftover invitations you may have. :)
@CocoBellaF Please take it easy! We need you to heal!
    @speakeasy14 OMG that onesie!

I'm WFH today, and it's soooooo slow. Usually I'm swamped this time of year, but my vendor partners have been slow to start spring promotions. Hopefully we can start the promotions ASAP because I'm boooored and would also like to make some new sales.

UPS delayed the delivery of my silk flowers by one day because they're still behind on shipments from the winter weather last week. Sadness.

I didn't go to the grocery store or cook a nice dinner last night. I was way too lazy by the time I got home... I really need motivation again. I haven't worked out in about 2 weeks, and I have no motivation to clean or cook or anything right now. Bah humbug.

WR things: 1. I've been haggling with Marriott Courtyard for a room block. It's a first come first serve block, so they aren't *actually* blocking any rooms. Originally they wanted to give me the standard room rate on top of that, which makes absolutely no sense. I got them to come down on the price, and now I'm trying to see if they'll throw in something special if we book a room there the night of the wedding. 2. FI and I are going to set up our registries this weekend! I'm so excited!

I guess I'll run to the grocery store since I haven't gotten emails in a while. Tonight I *will* cook a nice dinner, and I *will* restart PiYo!

I wish I could sleep at night....I haven't slept soundly since Friday night and it's really starting to affect my ability to function.

In terms of my morning, I accidentally fell back to sleep after FI left for work and was 45 minutes late to work. All I have is office hours this morning though, so I've been messing around on TK actually working on a guest list.

FI and I spent an hour Monday night creating a tentative list, which of course his sister threw a fit yesterday morning when he told her that some of the [very] extended family was going to be cut. I'm already stressing out about this. We just don't have the money to have a 200+ guest list, which would be necessary if we were to invite his entire family! Right now we decided that the cut-off would be his 2nd cousins. So that's immediate family, aunts, uncles, 1st cousins, his dad's 1st cousins, and their children. Seems reasonable.  Still 66 people. The thing is, if we start inviting children of 2nd cousins for example, we could easily hit 80+ guests just from his dad's family!!! We decided that we wouldn't allow children under 18 either (except for his two 1st cousins who will be under 18, and the two kids we have picked for flower girl and ring bearer).

  • @swazzle - please to come up here & visit & help me find good deals??

I bought my invitation stamps today!!! EEEEEEEEEEE!! I really was hoping to get the vintage flower stamps, but the whole thing only weighs 1 oz, so I only needed to get regular stamps! I just got the "Forever" hearts, which are cute. The flowers would have been pretty, but I mean, honestly... they're stamps. 1. I can't remember what any stamps on any invitations ever have looked like and 2. they're just going to get thrown away, so, it's fine.

I'm going to number the RSVPs tonight (pencil a number on the back to keep track of them, in case people don't fill them out), stuff the RSVPs into the big envelopes, and get them out by the end of the week! AHH!! I'm so nervous - the post office had better not screw them up!
    Smartest idea ever!

@nycgal65 That's very generous of you! We didn't invite second cousins at all, except for a couple random people that H's mom put on the guest list that I didn't even realize were second cousins (I just thought they were family friends of hers). They didn't come anyway. Why is your H discussing the guest list in such a level of detail though? I feel like this is information his sister doesn't need to know.

  • @KeptInStitches - Thanks! I just found out on of my committee member's father died this morning (so sad) so the head of the department is substituting for him and my nerves just shot through the roof! He always seems really angry and makes me nervous :(

@labro - His family is UBER close...like we see his second cousins quite often (we see his 1st cousins and aunts/uncles probably several times a month), and they're a very close knit group. They also love weddings, so there's already been some passive aggressive comments from some of his dad's cousins (people who are actually invited) in response to a friend of ours who told us to elope about shame on him for suggesting that to us and that he obviously has never been to one of the family's weddings before and they are epic.

Honestly, I said a long time ago that we would have the wedding in NY since that's where we live and I didn't want to try and plan a wedding remotely, but the more I think about it the more I am liking the idea of having it in Ohio where my family is. I told FI the compromise would be either a) we have it in NY and we make a lot of cuts to the guest list, or b) we have it in Ohio and we can invite everyone (because it's significantly cheaper and lots of people won't travel there). Thankfully he's 100% on my side about this, but it's still really stressful.

  • @eilis1228 - Unfortunately, I have ZERO leftover invitations. I don't even have one to keep for myself! I'm going to have to beg someone (*cough cough* @swazzle) to save theirs so I can put it in a frame!

  • @bethsmiles, I'm sorry to hear about your committee member's father. Good luck with the department head. I'm sure you'll do well!
  • @TwoDimes Yes, you can definitely host your own rehearsal dinner. That sounds like a fantastic idea!
