What shows do you guys stream on Prime?  Other than binging on Downton Abbey I don't think I've ever watched shows on there.  I would consider renewing but I haven't found much I want to stream on there.  Maybe it has changed in the last year or so though

I was wondering the same to try and decide whether it would be worth it to get or not.
FI signed up for a month long trial because there was some show he wanted to finish binging on that he couldn't get on Netflix (we do the mail order Netflix not streaming).  After he watched that show we kept searching for something else to watch but never found anything.  A couple of shows (forget which now) would only have 1- episodes for free on prime and then the others either weren't available or had to pay so it didn't seem worth it
  • We use it constantly. We're on Prime student which is half price but we'll keep it when that cuts off.

We use it constantly. I buy HBC and fresh stuff myself (couponer and near great produce markets) but frequently use it for gifts, books, kitchen stuff, and various supplies. This week alone we used it for: new sneakers for DH, batteries, a toilet brush, porcini mushroom powder, and a bunch of stuff for MIL (case of diabetic shakes, home medical care equipment, warm socks, smaller size pjs). For MIL (really SIL who is caring for MIL) I can get things delivered faster than she can get to the store.

I have student too! The nice thing is, that even though I graduated last June, my student ID is good through this December (15), so I can get student benefits for a lot longer. Not sure why my school does it that way ha.

  • SO JEALOUS.

Prime isn't worth it up here because a ton of stuff doesn't ship to Canada and/or isn't eligible for Prime, regardless of whether I go through .com or .ca. It's laaaaaaaame.

I buy everything possible online anyway though. Stores and human interaction are overrated.

But I live in an apartment so it pretty much always means getting little slips from UPS/Purolator/FedEx/Canada Post telling me to go pick up my parcel from wherever, rather than actually getting the thing delivered unless it's small enough to fit into one of the "parcel" boxes in our mailroom. Still worth it, though.

  • I just texted H and told him that we need Prime after seeing everything that you guys buy. I checked a few of the things we purchase on a monthly basis (tide detergent, dog food, my shampoo and conditioner, etc) and I can save SO MUCH MONEY by getting Prime and ordering it on Amazon. Plus it'll stop me from buying everything I see in Target/Wegmans if I don't have to go in there to buy the household goods.
  • A couple of years ago I signed up as a student for Amazon Prime, which means it's free.  It was only supposed to last two years, but it's going on four now and I'm just not going to say anything. Free shipping is the best.  I think my favorite time to use it is around Christmas, when I absolutely loathe going to any stores.

  • Ok so there are current shows that you can stream then right?  Because right now I have hulu, and Netflix, and I would really like to be able to just use one streaming site.

  • We are a little crooked, but I split a Prime account with my BFF.  I don't actually buy that much from there, or stream much, but it's nice to have the option and I just give her half the yearly subscription cost and use her log in and password with my credit card info.

    Not currently airing seasons, no.

Ummm... I graduated 4 years ago. They still haven't cut me off. In fact, when it said that my year expired, I went back and renewed for regular Prime and they billed me for student. I'm on auto-renew and haven't gotten it turned off.

I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the fact that I changed my email address to my non-student email from the start.

I got Prime in 2011 and I graduated college in 2007, I just used my school email to sign up! I just finally got moved to regular renewal I think late last year when I was due to renew.
  • I love my Amazon Prime. Easily worth the $ for the year of free shipping. Plus the various free content is a bonus. Amazon is such a time saver for me - instead of spending Saturday going to four stores to find things I need I just click. I order cat food and my cat's special litter on Amazon, which would require a trip to a Petco or PetSmart otherwise (which would be probably a 45 minute trip in total time). I order basically anything you can order on Amazon on Amazon.
