Dreary Tuesday

We've had our heat off for about 2 weeks.  However at night, DH has been turning on our infared heater upstairs.  And then I'm waking up sweating.  With the heater, it feels like there's a 20 degree difference between upstairs and downstairs.  I may start sleeping downstairs.  Ha.

Also, DefConn has ended up in our bed the last 2 nights (which is not new, he shows up a few times a week).  I know to break him that I should be returning him to his room, but when it's the middle of the night it's so much easier to plunk him between us and keep sleeping.

I did get our first post-winter electric bill.  I can haz money again.

Now that we're ditching cable (if I can ever get them on the phone), I really want to find different phone/internet options.  But we hate ATT.  So, I think we're limited unless something new comes to town.

  • I got my sewing machine out to hem Son's baseball pants and now I'm in a DIY mood.  I'm trying to focus this motivation toward my sister's shower and find things I can make for it.

Speaking of Son and baseball, he hit his first homerun of the season last night.  I can't remember how many he has total now, but this one is cool because the size of the diamond/field is bigger this year.  There's a big difference in hitting it over on a little league field vs. easily clearing the 275 fence (though technically this is his second homerun on this field because he got one during fall ball six months ago).  Whatever, I'm really proud.

    Go Son, that's awesome!

It's dreary here too.  I have absolutely nothing interesting to say.

    Yay kid taw!

Nothing much today. My boss has me researching how to do an edible Spider-Man for some cake contest he's in with his son.

That doesn't sound like a bad gig, 6.  Not at all.

    I'm at work, a bit distracted---appointment today.

Though I'm also still upset because last night, H and I went on a walk with the dogs at a park by our house that we drove to (about 2.5 miles away) so we're walking-about to go back and WHAT?  No car keys? WTF.  We spent about 40 minutes dicking around and he called his brother, who took him home, got his truck, called a tow truck to unlock the vehicle, got my purse out, my work keys, and then had to drive to the office to get the spare set for the work vehicle.  It was awful.  So what started out as a relaxing and awesome night turned into a bit of a mess.  I know in the scheme of things it's not horrible but when my brain has a hard time turning off bad internal dialog, this isn't what I need.  And not before a big decision like today's appointment, because ugh...it can have ripple effects---my feeling irresponsible, etc...I won't even go down that route.

*HUGE SIGH*  So yeah...I didn't sleep well, and I'm trying to stay focused which was already difficult.  Pity party time.
  • It's dreary and I can't focus on anything. All I want to do is sleep.
