Friday! Weekend plans?

Re: Friday! Weekend plans?

  • Hooray hooray the first of May!

Gorgeous morning, remembered to say "rabbit rabbit rabbit" when I woke up. For good luck, because why, I don't know. I just go with it.
Roses are blooming in May. This is something new.
So happy May Day, Happy Communist Day, Happy Robin Hood Day (if anyone's in Nottingham) and Happy Beltane. (If anyone's Wiccan.)

My mama (the Grand High Poohbah of All Moms) emailed and told me to look in my bank account for a birthday surprise, and hell yes, surprise deposit!!! and I am sooooo going shopping. And out to dinner. And a nice bottle of wine. I'm just stoked. All hail to the Grand High Poobah of All Moms. I love my mama.
Not to sound shallow, but surprise frittering away money just vastly cheered me the fuck up.
    All good things.

Also, have you guys done the Microsoft "How old do you look" thing?
It's hilarious. You can even put in a group picture, and it guesses the age of everyone. It has a few wildly inaccurate moments. It identified my sisters as 12 and 82 in one picture. Off by a good 30 years for both.
I'm going to pretend it's working, because it says I'm 38. (Okay, Moose tests consistently as 30. I'm sure it's only because of the scruffy beard.)

Well, that's depressing. I put in a few of my wedding pictures: 44, 43, 37. I AM 25. It got H right as early 30s every time, though!
    (Sssssh. I'm pretending I believe. )
It gave my daughter a 40 in one picture. She still gets carded, so nope. What ever detection method they're using still needs work.

    Left (me): 26 Middle: 18 Right: 21

Got back, respectively, 32, 29, 27. Gee whiz.

ETA: Put in one of FILs, FI and I at a hockey game. FI got 39. FFIL got 66. They are 27 and... late 40s / early 50s. What even.

  • Clean. We're cleaning this weekend.

I should be able to get the patio finished, so we can start eating outside with the hummingbirds.

Many, I love the hummingbirds. Every flower I got at the garden center the other day was  for hummingbirds.

  • I'm wearing this and going to the track to watch the ponies with DH

    I LOVE THAT
  • Yay Friday! I am taking the afternoon off because I have vacation time I have to use this week or I will lose it. I may go get a hair cut. Tonight, we're going to sushi and karaoke to celebrate my birthday!

I think tomorrow I will go to the nursery and buy more plants. Every year my dad gets me a gift card to our favorite nursery, so I have $50 to spend on all of the tomatoes.

I will probably try to read a bunch this weekend - I am in the 3rd book of A Song of Ice and Fire (is it bad I have no idea what the name of the actual book is?), and FI really wants me to catch up to him so we can talk about stuff.

SoontobeMrsKlein, I see you live in a small town but if you ever get the chance you should find out if any theaters close-ish to you have reserved seating. It's becoming more popular, we ordered our tickets for tonight's 8pm show and since they're reserved we literally could walk right in at 8, no lines and have our seats waiting for us! I'm pretty happy about that. When we saw the last Spiderman movie the line wrapped all the way through the mall and I hated waiting.

I loveeeee the reserved seating! Before we moved to the middle of freaking nowhere we lived in Edmonton, AB and pretty much always reserved seats because of my dislike for lines (claustrophobia, an hour of standing, theres no way in hell im sitting on the movie theatre floor etc).

Sadly Edmonton is like 7 hours away now, and its the closest place that has it. It's pretty much the greatest invention ever.

  • I tried 5 different photos and it put me at 23 every single time. 5 years off isnt that bad.

Although the one picture I used of me and FI, said that he was 17! He's 30....

He usually has a bit of scruff, but when he shaves his face he does turn into this adorable little babyfaced man, so I can understand where the computer is coming from with his chubby cheeks and freshly shaven face.

(He's been going to the same chiropractor once a month for a year, always on his days off so he's scruffy. last time he went, he went after a flight so his face was clean shaven and the doctor didn't recognize him

    I frigging love Hibachi.

Sorry, I'm buzzed already. I couldn't sleep on my flight, got bored, and they only came through once with booze so I busted into the Irish Whiskey I bought at Duty Free at DUB. Sharing it with my row. I'm the hero of Row 19.

I'm also starving. I would send some hibachi straight to hell right now.

I have never wanted anything more than I want to be sitting in front of a screaming hot hibachi table with a grinning chef gleefully throwing food at my face right now.

    ...so...hungry
  • @onefootinthebayou, you are cracking me up!! It's the best, I already texted my friend that we're meeting and was like "so excited for dinner!" and it was 11:30am.

    This weekend I'm:

    1. Having a Kentucky Derby party. This is really just an excuse for MINT JULEPS!!!
    2. Helping my stepmother pick out a dress for my wedding.
    3. Seeing a new exhibit at the art museum with my FI that we're super-excited about.

And I'll just say that that "how old am I" thing is totally wonk. My friend posted a picture of herself and her husband (both in their early 30s) and their kids who are 3 years old and 2 months old on FB this morning. It guessed 40-50 on both the adults and 20 and 4 years old on the kids, respectively. That algorithm clearly needs some work!

  • I put in a wedding picture of DH and I and it gave us 31 & 39 respectively. We're both 24.

I am so on your level right now! Although they just came through with a teeny tiny sandwich and an itty bitty chocolate pudding so I've morphed back to myself from the big giant crazy hunger monster.

Y'all have fun tonight & enjoy that hibachi! I'll be thinking of you (but not in a creepy way. I just really like hibachi). Lol I'm drunk. Hahahaha
  • I got 45. I'm 21, but since I have short hair and wear glasses I must be older haha

I just got a coupon for Payless so I think I'm buying shoes on the way home from work tonight! I haven't bought new shoes since last summer.

I'm cleaning this weekend and just relaxing. My last final was yesterday.

I think me and FI are going to try and catch the Avengers movie on Monday. We're both off work that day so we might get lucky and hit a matinee.

We're bored so we're finally going to get around to using a restaurant gift certificate a friend gave us after I took Christmas photos of them, and credits at the mall of america aquarium and rides that I randomly won.

  • Tonight: getting dinner with my parents and sister, then watching FI play flag football

Tomorrow: apartment hunting with FI, then a baseball game. I'm hoping after the game we go get tacos for dinner because I have been craving tacos for weeks, but the opportune time to get them hasn't come up yet.

Sunday: church, then hopefully nothing the rest of the day.

This week has been a bear. Bring on the weekend.

Just hoping neither FI or myself burns our arms on it and need to be hospitalized, like Tori Spelling! Did you hear about that? Giving hibachi a bad name..glad you've got some food in you!

I wore my hair in a braid today without drying it first this morning.  This afternoon one of my students asked if I had been playing on the plastic slide at recess...

Tonight my BFF and her fiance are coming over to meet my pup and have some wine and dinner at my apartment.

Tomorrow morning I have a spin class and then a beauty blogger preview for The Makeup Show which I'm super excited about!

Sunday I have another spin class in the morning, then having another friend to come meet the pup and do brunch, and dinner with old friends.
Elle has a busy weekend planned! ;)
Elle has a super busy weekend.  Last night she was terrified of my hair dryer and went and hid in her crate, which was hilarious since she never uses it and sleeps in my bed.

I think there's something very old school, Snoopy-esq about her expression in this pic. Very cute.

    Hahahahaha, that's awesome.
  • Exactly one out of 6 photos I put into that thing got my age right. Another was 31 (I'm 29). The rest were 34-45, and my personal fave, the very first shot I tried, told me that my friends and I are all in our 50s. Took that photo yesterday, in Mexico. SUN DAMAGE IS REAL, Y'ALL!
