IT IS JUNE. How did that even happen?! What's everyone excited for this month?

-PLL (and therefore my weekly FT dates with @GoldenPenguin) comes back tomorrow.

-I'm going to the Belmont Stakes this weekend! I went for the first time last year and it was so much fun. I'm going with a group of girls and we'll spend the day watching and betting on the races, snacking, and drinking in the sun. Perfection!

-H and I are having our first party at the house next Saturday. I'm so excited for our families and friends to see our home, some for the very first time, and everything we've gotten done, for those that have visited before.

-H turns the big 3-0 in a couple weeks. I'm letting him try it out first before I follow suit next month.

-At the end of the month, I'm going to a Big Brother party with @buddysmom80 and @hummingbird125 and I cannot wait! BB is the highlight of my summer every year and I'm so glad I got those two as obsessed with it as I am.

Yay for June!! It's going to start getting hot here really quick!

-We are going to the Beach FINALLY next week! DH and I haven't been to the beach together since our honeymoon and it rained most of the time so we are really looking forward to that.

-We will probably complete moving into our home and maybe have some family and friends over for a BBQ to celebrate!

-We will book our Nashville trip this month and anxiously await for that to come in July.

-We will get to see Callie again in a couple weeks with @labro ! I can't for her to see how big she is getting!

I'm so excited for June!

-Friday is my little brother's high school graduation. My parents are so excited to be empty nesters in the fall.

-Sunday is my bridal shower! It's ridiculously early (5 months out from the wedding!), but my mom wanted to schedule it when out-of-town family would already be here. I've got butterflies in my stomach just thinking about it.

-June 21 is the anniversary of my engagement. Can't believe it's already been a year!

-June 26-29 is my trip to San Francisco for a work conference. FI is tagging along too. I can't wait to explore the city in my (minimal) free time.

-June 28 is my birthday!

Hi Ladies!

I LOVE June!!!

-This Saturday I am running my first Cheer clinic of the year! I can't wait to see all my girls and gear up for the season!

-June 14th is my birthday! We are going to Martha's Vineyard for the day to celebrate!

-We have parties and gatherings almost every weekend this month! Most of them are surprises too! So that should be fun!!

Summer break

and frankly heading into my a second year of teaching. I'm still a "new teacher" but a lot more confident I'm excited for some summer tv: the whispers, probably PLL (I'm not as diehard as most folks here but tend to binge it after a few are on my dvr), the walking dead spinoff, etc Getting into shape! Did my first workout after school today and didn't die

Going to St Lucia at the end of June! We've never been on a beach vacation so it should be fun! Planning our next vacation after we get back lol. It will be domestic though

Seattle, Chicago, Atlanta, and our family visit trip to NY/NJ/MD/WV are on the list most likely

June here brings

(1) Summer festivals...and loads of them

(2) H and I are going to visit friends in Chicago next weekend

(3) Getting back to walking to/from work (or perhaps biking)...and gardening.

(4) H and I are contemplating a visit to Door County...which would be super fun.

June!

1) My mom's birthday is Friday, and so is my birdo's birthday. It wouldn't matter so much, except that we didn't think he was going to make it to his birthday, and he's doing SO WELL now. So we're just really happy and relieved that he gets to turn 7.

2) Cousin-in-law's graduation party this weekend.

3) IKEA furniture is coming in a week and a half! It's like getting a brand new apartment.

4) I'm working 5-10 hours to help out at a conference this month, for science lab education. I've got no idea what I'll be doing, but hey, sounds like fun, and I'll maybe make $50 or so.

5) Step-niece is turning 9 at the end of the month!

June is already looking crazy for us.

- Elijah has soccer tryouts all week this week and into next week. He's trying out for 3 different clubs. Fingers crossed that one of them likes him!!

- This weekend we're going to a going away party for two amazing friends. They sat with us in the hospital and then came over every day for a week to sit, drink, hold my hand, etc. I'm so sad that they're leaving, BUT they're moving to the ATL area. Just one more reason to visit there!

- Next weekend we have a housewarming party to go to.

- Hopefully this week/next week, we'll be getting everything with the house mortgage signed over to me and get approved for a refi/equity loan so that we can begin the kitchen and roof repairs.

- other than that we're just crazy busy meeting with potential wedding vendors and booking those.

June should be fun but also low key

-in less than two weeks is our one year wedding anniversary! We are spending the weekend in AC

-we get a fresh cake made from our bakery of our wedding cake. Yum cake!

- I got H tickets for The Book of Mormon on Broadway in August for our one year anniversary. I can't wait to see his reaction though when I give him the tickets

-home improvements we'll be working on, yard work and hopefully finally starting my closet room.

My June is already booked!

- Next weekend we're staying at a cabin with my BF's brother (the one who talks down to women) and his fiancé. There will be a puppy there, so it was actually a fairly easy decision to make.

- June 13th is my little sister's graduation from college, so I'll be going up to Seattle for that.

- The 14th through the 21st my parents rented a huge beach house for all their kids and grandkids. It's the pacific coast, so I won't get in the water, but sand castles and kite flying there will be aplenty.

- June 26/27 we are doing a two-day climb to the top of Mount Adams. . . I may still back out of that.

- And in the meantime, we'll be getting all the stuff in order to buy our house!

2. a big father's day BBQ with some of my favorite family and friends on the 20th
3. nelly/tlc/NKOTB concert on the 25th
4. 1 year anniversary of the day i met BF on the 26th
5. my cousins wedding on the 28th

I love June!! It usually means we survived tornado season, and it's nice summer weather before it starts hovering over 100 degrees every day.

H and I are going to see Oklahoma! on stage later this month. I'm excited for that... it's one of my favorite musicals. I should start getting a lot of veggies from my garden this month. We put ourselves back on a tighter budget so we can pay off my medical bills quickly, so we'll have to figure out some cheap entertainment for the next month or two. Since it's summer, we'll probably spend a lot of time outdoors! If I have my way, we will grill out every night for dinner, sit at our back patio table under the solar light umbrella and hang out while the dogs play in their little pool. So relaxing!

@speakeasy14 - We saw Dave a couple weekends ago. We both really enjoyed the show (which is saying something, since DH has seen him 52 times and I've seen him 8).

@jenjen047 - I'm so jealous that you're going to the NKOTB concert. I couldn't find anyone to go with me when the tickets went on sale

@lavenderfields13 - Holy cow.... 13 days!!

AFM - June is relatively quiet for us. There is an art festival in town this weekend, which will be fun to check out. We fell in love with a painting last year and I finally found the artists info THIS WEEK. So I talked to him yesterday and he's bringing our print with him this weekend. YAY!

Next weekend is my nephew/godson's 4th birthday, so we'll head down to Richmond for a night. We'll do the bday party in the park and then that night is a soccer game for the team I used to work for. I always love going to those as a fan now.

We don't really have anything else planned in June, which is nice. Fingers crossed DH hears something on his job situation, but realistically, it's not going to be until July or August.

Oops - and a super exciting thing that happened in June (yesterday)....

New countertops! The only thing left to do in the kitchen is get the new chandelier installed, which is happening on Thursday. YAY!

- Ultrasound with @southernpeach89 and Miss Callie on the 15th!!!!!!!!!!!

- Summertime, no school traffic, and warm weather.

See my ticker below, as something exciting this month. It's still really early, the only ones who know are my parents, IL's and BFF. Later on this month we do genetic testing and once we know that is clear we will tell the world. I also believe we will find out the sex then as well. So this may explain why I'm constantly complaining about being tired. I also hope to be rid of the bad MS as well.

@swazzle - I went to HS with one of the winners... Lisa Donahue (season 3?). She MIGHT know me by my childhood nickname+maiden name, but she was a year or two younger than me. I wonder if she'll be there.

@Peaseblossom55 - YAY!!!! I love watching all the NEY babies grow and everybody plan for them. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

@CocoBellaF - The city does a lot of good free stuff during the summer--I know the Myriad does movies in the park and I'm sure there are lots of concerts and stuff. Also...we need to have our OK Knottie G2G. That could be something fun!

The thing I'm looking forward to most in June is that I have literally NOTHING major planned. After the insanity of last semester, I'm so glad for a bit more quiet time. That said, there are some things going on this month that I'm excited for:

1) Helping my mom out around the house. She wants to take advantage of the fact that I'm living there for a while to get me to help out on some projects she wants to do. My mom and I get along best when we're working on something and drinking wine, so it should be good bonding time before I move across the country.

2) Really buckling down on my weight-loss goals. I gained 10 pounds while I wrote the dissertation, and I want it gone! Plus, I want to feel comfortable in my own skin again. I'm treating the next 2 months sort of like a boot camp--upping the workouts, eating good food (we have a great farmer's market nearby), and just generally taking better care of myself. Hoping the habits will stick. I've finally gotten back into my running groove, and it's been so nice to clear my head that way.

3) Starting to work on the decorations for my new apartment. I loved how my house here was decorated, but I'm loving the challenge of decorating something I can't paint and with new color schemes.

4) BALLET classes start back up tonight. I'm super excited for that!

5) Reading for fun. I've decided to alternate fiction and non-fiction all summer. I started with the first book in the Outlander series, and now I'm reading a biography of my patron saint, Thérèse of Lisieux.

Mostly, June means that grad school is officially over and so I can finally breathe a little easier, for the first time in 7 years!
