  • @goldenpenguin - LOVE that photo!! cant wait to see the rest

@eilis1228 - im sorry for your uterus :( i got a IUD in january and had really bad cramping for about 2 months afterwards. it was miserable. but nothing else since march except the occasional cramp or 2 out of the blue so it was totally worth it.

@cu97tiger - yeah i dont always notice it either until its too late. im trying so hard to stop, especially bc i want to have nice hands when i have a nice ring on my finger.
  • @GoldenPenguin - AH! I'm so excited to see the rest!!

@GoldenPenguin AHHHHH! I didn't know that photo was taken in a PUDDLE! Gorgeous!!!!!!

    @eilis1228 Yay for money!!

  • @eilis1228 - Far from it... I count it as a good week if I get three workouts in, but usually I'm at 1-2. I have to constantly jumpstart my workout routine, because I get lazy very easily.

@jenjen047 - Go buy the cream called 'Control It!' from amazon or wherever. It tastes terrible so the second you start biting your nail or cuticle, it's an instant reminder to stop. It worked for me (but I ran out).

  • @goldenpenguin - im just glad im not the only one. its such a bad habit and so embarrassing. and i hate when a friend is like oh wanna go get a manicure and i cant because my fingers are mangled :(
  • @jenjen047 - honestly, the only thing that keeps me from totally ripping them apart is getting gel manicures. I'll still find little things to pick at, but it's WAY better than having them totally undone.

  • Dear students,

We only have 11 more days. Suck it up and hang in there. Summer will be here before we know it! And I will miss you all (ok, most of you).

    Love,
    your nerdy math teacher

    Dear BF,

I wish you weren't working tonight, although having the bed to myself once in a while isn't the worstttt thing in the world! :) I really do miss you though.

    Love,
    me

    Dear self,

Please try to wake up on time tomorrow! It is not summer yet!

    Love,
    Snooze button for days
  • @jenjen047 @goldenpenguin - I can demolish a gel manicure in a week. I got a manicure on Friday and already (i.e. about five minutes ago) tore off the nail polish on one finger with my teeth. And jenjen#s, I totally feel you on the manicure thing... most of the time, I would be embarrassed to walk into a nail salon. I also hate when people try to shame me into joining their jamberry parties.. ummm hello, I have no nails to put jamberry on!!

I love gel manicures. They last FOREVER, but I've never been a nail biter or picker. They are fantastic, and I highly recommend them to everyone here.

Confession: I'm absolutely terrible at getting them as frequently as I should though... I've had the same polish on my fingers for almost a month now:

My fingernails are too long for me to work the clasp on my necklaces. I have to wake up FI and have him do it in the mornings. I'm just too lazy to trim them or go to the nail salon. If I didn't have those family events this weekend, my nails would probably look like this for a few weeks longer.

  • @goldenpenguin - tottally agree re: gel manis. im able to keep them for 10-14 days. the thing is if i get more than 3-4 in a row my nails get all weak, so i feel like i need to take a break once in awhile. when i take a break all hell breaks loose and then it takes a couple weeks before my nails are presentable for a manicure again. just like @cu97tiger.

@eilis1228 - so jealous of your nails! i have friends who have strong nails and dont pick or bite them and they can also make a gel mani last 4+ weeks (which makes the cost that much more justifiable). youre lucky!

OMG I'm getting anxious just looking at these lol. I would have ripped them off weeks ago. When I got back from our honeymoon, the first thing I did was go get my nails redone because they were SO LONG, I felt like a secretary from the 40s click clacking away at my computer.

@jenjen047 - the hardest part for me was leading up to the wedding, and wanting my hands to look nice, not red and bloody! I started getting my nails done a few weeks before, and they looked great on the wedding day, so it worked!

  • @goldenpenguin i plan to do the same thing haha
  • @GoldenPenguin I'm really embarrassed by them. Luckily the color is so light that you can't immediately tell how bad the nails are. I'm just lazy and cheap right now... but at least they haven't chipped?
