Re: ***removed*** at wedding. HELP!

  • Sheesh, this thread is done.

You guys are a bunch of shrews.

    Good job acting like men.
Oh ok, buddy, but you're NOT a misogynist.

What the fuck did you expect from us?  For us to act passive aggressively?  Is that how you think women act?

Sorry,  but I don't play those bullshit games.  I'm very direct with people, especially when they are being asshats.  I mean, isn't that typically how men act?

Pretend this is Reddit and we all have a Y chromosome.  Would you act all butthurt if a group of guys told you the same thing, that you're acting like an entitled brat?

  • Clearly this guy is a troll, since he changed the title and the original post. I want the record to show, I called troll on page 1.

@Lyndausvi @liatris2010 can mods ban or does it have to come from admins?

I don't know that it means he's a troll. He could still be a groom who foolishly believes that setting up a wedding is what the women folk do. But he may be in tune with the forums to know that words are better than a bat signal.

Did you read what he wrote in place of his original post? It has nothing to do with a wedding now. He's a troll.

There's some very passionate responses here.

Let me clarify a few things.

My fiancé is not a bridezilla. We are both very practical and frugal. This wedding is not a large, extravagant event. Close friends and family, under 100 guests.

The bridesmaids are not being used as "slave labor". My fiancé would like with the bouquets, makeup, etc.

The bridesmaid in question is older, has dabbled in 3-4 majors, and has just NOW graduated with a degree. She is up to her eyeballs in debt, and is now insisting on applying to Ivy League law schools. She actually did very well on her LSAT in February, but is insisting on taking it once again. She wants to become a civil rights attorney to "change the system".

This isn't some budding, mature female lawyer. Its your run of the mill naive Millennial.

This isn't a Lifetime special, ladies. The world doesn't revolve around unrealistic career aspects.

You all can believe what you'd like. I think its selfish to take a test on a wedding day, when you're scheduled to be IN the wedding.

I know there are some people with common sense who will agree with me.

You have absolutely no right to criticize the bridesmaid's desire to attend law school.  This is none of your business.
If your FI needs help preparing for the wedding, she should hire someone to help her.  This is what most brides do.
Sooo mature of you to change your original post.  You were quoted, so it doesn't matter.
Name calling is against the TOS.

He feigned butthurt far too early on to be a troll, imo.  Trolls, in my experience, keep on going at it and pushing buttons to get a rise.

  • Men, you're missing the point.

    Pumping is from the devil.

    We must all resist Satan!
  • So is this what modern, enlightened men do all night?

You should thank me for giving you men something to whine about all night.

I bet everyone here likes football, video games, and building yard furniture.

Why, exactly, do you think it's an insult to us to call us men?  What point are you trying (and failing) to make?  Why would that even occur to you to say?

I hate football but love hockey, I do enjoy video games and play several with my DH, and I like building all kinds of furniture.

    What's your point?

Not that I think you'll answer, but did you post this picture of Rachel Dolezal (a white woman who is apparently passing as black) thinking you were posting a picture of Laverne Cox (fabulous transsexual woman)?  ETA: Or are you straying from your bizarre "You must be dudes" roll and dipping into racial issues?  Or am I giving you too much credit by assuming that you are operating on some sort of logic, however twisted that might be?
