@peaseblossom55 I'm sorry to hear about the exam 2 points, that's so annoying. Do you know what things you got wrong so you can focus on those for next time? I don't know anything about this kind of exam so not sure if that's helpful. Have a little pity party and then be happy because you're going to be celebrating at the announcement party tomorrow!!
@jenna8984 I really love YA books because they're such easy reads.
1) What are you wearing today? The purple shirt attached (I LURVE IT SO MUCH), a dark denim skirt, and my favorite rose gold sandals. And my fitbit (it's purple, too). ETA: Shirt link
2) What are you eating today?
For breakfast I have my shake. For lunch we are going to our favorite Mexican place and bakery. Dinner, no clue. We have game night at church tonight so we'll grab something before we head over there.
3) Are there any movies out that you want to go see?
I want to see this new movie called "Brooklyn" with Saoirse Ronan. I saw the trailer and it looks so good.
4) What's the last concert or show that you went to?
We went to Mary Poppins (it sucked, they completely rewrote the story and it was like a nightmare or something) and before that, Oklahoma!
5) If you could go anywhere in the world right this second and the whole trip was paid for, where would you go?
Funny you should ask!! H and I tease my dad about grandkids. He wants us to have a kid so bad. So we told him to send us on a trip somewhere cool and we'd have a kid for him. I mean, we're already TTC (he doesn't know that) so whatever, it was just funny. My birthday is in August, so my dad told me last night that for my birthday he wants us to use his CC to buy plane tickets to go somewhere so he can get a grandkid already. He was sort of kidding (about the grandkid part) but totally serious about buying plane tickets. Woo-hoo!!! We are thinking about going somewhere in February... We already have a tripped planned for October, and then the holidays are always crazy. I hate January-March (winter and it sucks) so I thought going somewhere warm around President's Day in February would be a great way to break that up. H suggested Puerto Rico. We gotta do some research.
6) How do you feel about 'Earth's bigger, older cousin' that was just discovered?
So cool.
7) If you could come back as any animal in your next life, what would it be?
My dogs. They live the life.
8) What is your dream job?
I am doing my dream job! I am a project manager. my job is to keep everyone organized and make lists and track dates and status of multiple projects. I love it.
9) How has the month of July been for you so far?
Pretty good! Except it's 100 degrees with 76 dew point. That sucks.
10) What are you looking forward to in the month of August?
So far we don't have any major plans for August. I want to go to the peach farm one more time.
1) What are you wearing today? Jeans and one of my favorite tops. It's red with ruffles and polka dots. Oh and a pair of blue flats.
2) What are you eating today? Good question...I hit snooze one too many times this morning and skipped breakfast. I think maybe a burrito for lunch.
3) Are there any movies out that you want to go see? I really want to see The Imitation Game and Ex Machina but they had limited releases so I'll just red box them. I want to see Jurassic World too, maybe next weekend.
4) What's the last concert or show that you went to? Hmm...it's been awhile. I think Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney a couple summers ago is probably the last one.
5) If you could go anywhere in the world right this second and the whole trip was paid for, where would you go? New Zealand.
6) How do you feel about 'Earth's bigger, older cousin' that was just discovered? I hadn't heard about this.
7) If you could come back as any animal in your next life, what would it be? A dolphin.
8) What is your dream job? Teaching.
9) How has the month of July been for you so far? Excellent!
10) What are you looking forward to in the month of August? Going to look at venues, more camping trips, hiking, getting closer to fall
@swazzle - The theater shooting is very upsetting. I know tragedies like this always bring up gun control but I wish as a nation we would take a harder look at access to mental health care and the stigmas that are attached to mental health. Obviously something needs to change but in my opinion mental health is a bigger issue than the gun control, if only because I think people who really want guns will always find ways to get them no matter what laws and safeguards we put into place.
@Lavenderfields13 - Your pictures are gorgeous! I really love the third one!
@Swazzle I can't believe your SA trip is so close! August is going to be awesome for you two.
@caseface5 Sounds like a really fun family weekend! One of those perfect summertime weekends, actually.
@hummingbird125 Please open your cafe/bakery in Texas and make ALL the blueberry pancake ice cream!
@lavenderfields13 Your pics are fantastic! I absolutely love the first one you posted of you two at the table. Wow!
@everyone else... sorry going to have post and try and come back later... coworkers keep coming in here and interrupting me, and my phone keeps ringing. I've been trying to write this post for like an hour now...
1) What are you wearing today? Jeans, mint shirt, grey sweater thing with black ballet flats.
2) What are you eating today? B- banana and chocolate PB2 plus a chocolate-flavored tea from David's Tea. It's not my favorite by any means, but it's suuuuper caffeinated. L- Turkey and cheese sammich on wheat bread, Babybel cheese, unsweetened applesauce, sugar free Jello Snack- Goldfish crackers.... no idea what we're having for dinner. Maybe ham steak and veggies if we stay in tonight.
3) Are there any movies out that you want to go see? Trainwreck!
4) What's the last concert or show that you went to? lol I really don't remember. I think it was Elton John in like 2010. I had floor seats!
5) If you could go anywhere in the world right this second and the whole trip was paid for, where would you go? The UK. FI and I have been dying to go there. I think we can make that happen next year.
6) How do you feel about 'Earth's bigger, older cousin' that was just discovered? I think it's funny that we'll likely be the big scary aliens that we've always been so afraid of to any life living there.
7) If you could come back as any animal in your next life, what would it be? A cat. They seriously have it made.
8) What is your dream job? A librarian or archivist for Disney, or Coke, or some other big huge, historical corporation.
9) How has the month of July been for you so far? Pretty great! Lots of stuff going on, but it's been hot as balls. I'm ready for fall.
10) What are you looking forward to in the month of August? Oh gosh, August is going to be so jam packed with awesome things. On August 1 we have a venue meeting, the weekend of August 8 we'll be in south Texas printing our invitations, on August 15 I have my second alterations appointment for my dress, the weekend of August 22 is my MIL's grad school graduation, and August 29 is my bachelorette! Also, @audrewuh's birthday is in August, so I need to plan something fun for that. I've already figured out what I'm going to get her, but I'll be out of town on her actual birthday, so I need to plan something around her birthday to make it up to her.
@swazzle, I was totally obsessed with Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats as a kid, which was my intro to the show. My mom also dragged me to a lot of theater, mostly musicals. It's affected me - I'm listening to "Man of La Mancha" this morning on Spotify.
Which is all to say "OMG Cats awesome show you saw on Broadway jealous."
@TwoDimes maybe he'll still send a check! lol. I ended up paying for at least 6 people who were no shows at my wedding. So annoying. 2 of them didn't show because of an illness so that's absolutely excusable. The others I'm pretty much done with because that was just kind of the icing on the cake in top of other shit.
@bethsmiles I agree we should be focusing more on mental health issues in this country, There's so many people in prisons that should actually be in mental health facilities, etc.
I guess I consider myself "pro gun" and feel people should legally be able to own/carry them. Stricter gun control is not going to stop criminals from getting access to guns - they're still going to get them and then law abiding citizens can't carry guns for protections- makes no sense to me.
edited to clariy- I think people should be able to own guns after passing extensive background checks, etc.
@swazzle@lavenderfields13 Ok I'm glad I'm not the only one reading YA books at 30 years old. In that case, yes, I think Paper Towns is good and I'm determined to pull mine out and finish it tonight! No I haven't heard of Good Reads
@twodimes ugh, well hopefully that is the last of your frustrations.
Geez, I hope so. We've actually had two other whole families cancel on us since we made the seating chart, but those were for more excusable, IMO, reasons: ill relative in one case and the other family has a new baby, thought they would be able to travel, and later decided it would just be too much. We also have one family member that called FMIL and broke down crying on the phone saying her husband has moved out, she thinks they might be getting a divorce, and she doesn't know whether she (the non-blood relative) and the kids (3 adults, 1 child) should even come. I feel so terrible for her. We will likely have a lot of awkwardly half-filled tables, or maybe even some completely empty, but I'm not worried about that.
Hilariously, this is ALL on FI's side. My side is normal!
Oh jeez. You need a drink or two after dealing with all of this. At least your family hasn't had any issues.
@TwoDimes - Since our wedding, H and I have gone on SO MANY DATES. Your post reminded me of how we basically didn't do that for the year and a half before the wedding (well, we still went out, but it was severely cut down due to our tight budget). This period of intense penny-pinching will make you enjoy having disposeable income SO MUCH MORE when it's over!
@jenna8984 To this day my favorite books are the ones I read as a kid lol. I think my all time favorite is A Wrinkle in Time, followed by The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe haha.
@lavenderfields13 - I love The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe! And yes, I totally agree that the books I read as a kid are still my favorite! I just read books based on what I think will be fun/interesting to read not on what is necessarily written for my age group. Honestly I read YA probably more than any other genre.
For anyone looking for a good book and liked Gone Girl/Dark Places/Sharp Objects, The Girl on the Train, Luckiest Girl Alive, etc.... I just read The Kind Worth Killing in a day. It was SO good. And there were twists that I literally was like "WHAT?!?!?!"
So I have very limited time and won't have a chance to respond to everyone. Please forgive me. I do love all of you.
@swazzle I saw that about the shooting. It truly is sad that you can't seem to do anything in public anymore, without fear that something could happen. It drives my anxiety up more and more.
Tonight I'm going to @swazzle house where I get to see @hummingbird125 tomorrow, snuggle me some Snoos, and drink boozy root beer. Then we're going to see @goldenpenguin and I'll get to meet @labro! I am so stupid excited to see my friends and love on them tons!
I think for the most part, we discussed our weekends in yesterday's thread so I won't bore you with that again today and, instead, I'll ask you a billion questions. Or, 10.
1) What are you wearing today? Pink ruffle top from NY&Co. And khaki/camel colored slacks with black flats. AND MY NEW BRA. I got it especially for this weekend. Cause I don't want my friends knowing my bras are thread bare.
2) What are you eating today?
Cupcakes, Brownies, Mac and Cheese, Popeyes, and Red Drink (We had an impromptu food day. I brought the cupcakes of course.)
3) Are there any movies out that you want to go see? Jurassic World, Ant Man
4) What's the last concert or show that you went to? Shit, I don't remember. I'm taking Bean to see DCFC for his birthday in September.
5) If you could go anywhere in the world right this second and the whole trip was paid for, where would you go? Universal Studios, with park hopper passes
6) How do you feel about 'Earth's bigger, older cousin' that was just discovered? Wait, what? What the hell did I miss in science news???
7) If you could come back as any animal in your next life, what would it be? Horse.
8) What is your dream job? Pony Breeder
9) How has the month of July been for you so far? Its actually been pretty good. It has been emotional leading up to the one year anniversary of Mom, but not all days have been terrible. I have been suffering from more anxiety this month almost like I'm anticipating it happening again. Does that make sense?
10) What are you looking forward to in the month of August? August nothing. It will be the anniversary and I feel like its happening all over again.
Man I started this out on a high note and turned into a Debbie Downer. My bad y'all.

@bethsmiles@lavenderfields13 Huge yes about the books from when I was a kid. My favorite stories are still the ones I loved when I was younger. The saddest but most favorite book I ever read was called Mama, Let's Dance. To this day, I can't talk about that book without wanting to cry.
Okay, newest update in my creepy story. I called one of my best friends to tell her what happened, and when I was done, she asked a very specific question about him, and she was spot on. Turns out, he had approached her and husband two weeks ago. She told me she would call Chick-fil-A to make them aware if she were me since it's clear this wasn't his first time doing that. When I call and speak to a manager, I give her the story, and she asks for a description. I get one sentence out of my mouth describing the man, she says, "I know exactly who you're talking about. We have an order where he is not supposed to be on our premises. I will call the cops and have them pick him up today." This thing is getting crazier as the day goes on.
@casey1219 - I'm glad you followed your instincts last night and then called the manager this morning! Obviously, since they are already aware of him you and your friend aren't the only ones who have encountered him and been uncomfortable enough to make a complaint.
Not really a creepy story but just weird - once FI and I were leaving a Qudoba and this girl came up to us and started trying to sell us porn while we were walking to our car. It was bizarre.

@bethsmiles I couldn't help but laugh when I read that one. Don't think I've ever been approached by a porn salesperson. That's the weirdest thing I've ever heard! Lol.

@eilis1228 I'm jealous that you saw Sir Elton!
@twodimes No 1 million dollars? Add to the end of this "for canceling on my wedding"
