One of my friends is extremely protective of her wedding from 2 years ago. She thinks she owns every idea or detail from her wedding and gets so judgmental when she hears that someone else might be doing something similar to her. Her cousin is getting married this year and wants to have a pink peony bouquet. Friend had the same bouquet two years ago and has been snarking about her cousin's choice ever since finding out ("she's clearly copying me!" "She is copying my wedding!").
Now that a few details are coming out to her about my wedding, she has been sneaky snarky to me, a sweet voice comes out of her, but I know she's actually pissed. "Oh, you're doing lanterns for centerpieces, just like me!" "Oh you're doing pie for dessert not cake? That's like, exactly what we did."
I just shrug it off, but to be a little honest it does bother me that she has that big of a head to think that I'm copying her and not just doing what FI and I actually want to do (we love pie) or taking what our venue already provides for us (lanterns). And what I really want to say is: "don't worry, we're not copying everything you did. I'm not going to have a gap between the ceremony and reception or a cash bar."
Re: The girl who thinks everyone is copying her wedding
Did she have burlap and lace? Because NO ONE has done that before.
Please, please, please make the comment about the gap and cash bar. That would be amazing.
Cheese tower? Do explain!
Cheese tower? Do explain!
Yes, do.Saw it on Pinterest. A large bottom tier of something like a cheddar round, a smaller bleu cheese round, and top round of brie; decorated with grapes. Now, if any of you copy me and my Pinterest find, I'll cut you!
I don't want that for my wedding, I want that for my Saturday night! Bring on a case of wine for that.
ETA: my 12 year old self just thought enough about this and how you would be "cutting the cheese".
