  The "Dirty Delete" is when an OP deletes the content of their original post, which is typically a useless move, since they've been quoted. It's also considered poor form and has the opposite effect that the deleter wishes for in that it draws MUCH more attention to the post.

  OP, what you have done is super rude. Just because people didn't react the way you wanted them to doesn't mean you didn't get good advice. Also, you were quoted. People can get the gist of what is going on from the quote trees.

  What a spaz!! And also I might add sounded like a brat. She wanted a "nice chunk of money " instead of paying for a wedding.. Well don't we all??? That's why you have the wedding YOU can afford rather that be just you and your hubby or 1000 people... So you can have what you want and avoid THIS stress. My prediction... There is a dollar dance, a cash bar, and no fans.

  My most Type-A, plans-everything friend planned a 200 person wedding in a major city in 6 months- including church and reception space.  I couldn't even figure out what OP was freaking out about.

  What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

  Oh, so that makes this little exercise in how to make a really bad impression on people you allegedly want advice from and act super defensive over every single issue EVEN MORE POINTLESS because now she really does have more than a year to plan.  Awesome.  Hope it was worth it OP.
  
  For lurkers out there reading this:  Let this thread and pretty much every other related thread be a lesson in why you don't plan your wedding backwards, plan your wedding around a DJ when you don't even have a venue for the DJ to set up, or call something "your date" until you actually have money down on a venue to secure your date.
  1.  Make a budget with real, actual, firm numbers.
  2.  Make a guest list.
  3.  Get a rough idea of when you would like to have your wedding.
  4.  Find a venue that fits your budget and your guest list.
  5.  Negotiate a date with the venue based on their availability.
  6.  Put a deposit down on the venue.
  7.  Start calling that date "your date" and go searching for the rest of your vendors.
  
  Seriously, it's not nearly as difficult or complicated as OP here made it out to be.  Lurkers who happen upon this thread because they are also worried about planning a wedding in under a year, I guarantee you'll be able to do it if you don't pick the most convoluted, backwards way to go about it.
