Monday already?

Good morning! I had a lovely weekend :)

On Friday, I was feeling really crappy so I went home, got in my jams, and straight onto the couch. H was on dinner duty (aka he went to Wawa for hoagies) and he also picked up my rings from getting redipped at the jeweler! They look like the day I got them and I'm happy to report that I'm no longer allergic to them!

On Saturday, H had off work so we had a lazy morning and then went to the Devils game where we won in a shoot out, woo hoo!

We rushed home and changed into our costumes and there were already kids out trick or treating. I tried to get a picture of the 3 of us but my raptor was just not cooperating. This is the best I could do:

We definitely didn't have enough candy (or maybe we just had a ton of kids?) but we ran out at 6:30. So we turned off all the lights, got changed, and headed to Asbury Park for a cover band show (Nirvana, Green Day, and Hall & Oates -- H LOVES Hall & Oates). It was actually a lot of fun, there were some really awesome costumes, and they had horror movie scenes playing in the background the whole night.

Yesterday was a day dedicated to laziness. H and I (and the babies) spent the whole day on the couch except for cooking. We had Home Chef meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Basically there was a lot of this:

Today I have to leave work early for a doctor's appointment. Hopefully I can find out what's been wrong with me lately and it's nothing serious!

I hope everyone's Monday is bearable today!

Re: Monday already?

  • Good morning!  I love all your photos, @Swazzle.

We barely got any trick-or-treaters.  We were handing out candy by the handfuls.  We have a little bit left, but got rid of most of the chocolate so I am safe.  ;)

Let's see, Friday I was off work...  I went to my PMDD appointment.  It went really well.  She's starting me my Cytomel for my thyroid, so I'm excited to see it start working.  It was cold and rainy all day Friday!

Saturday was busy, busy, busy.  I went to a Mary Kay thing in the morning (sigh).  There were two other girls there (and by girls, I mean 19 year olds... I felt ancient!) plus the hostess.  And if that wasn't enough for my poor, introverted soul, we had brunch plans with a new couple immediately after that.  H has a co-worker who just moved here and his wife WFH, so co-worker asked H if we could all get together so his wife could meet new people.  Wife was a total extrovert, so she and H gabbed the whole time.  H's co-worker and I smiled and nodded and interjected a comment every now and then.  I survived.

THEN!!!!  I had to teach some make-up piano lessons.  At least my students came in their costumes.  That was cute.  After that, I declared I was DONE WITH PEOPLE.  DONE.  So I changed to comfy clothes, worked out, cleaned the house while passing out candy, read, cooked soup, and did all sorts of quiet things around the house.

Sunday was another People Day.  You know it's bad when you categorize your days/weeks by if you have to deal with people.  We had a multicultural Sunday at church.  There was a lunch and then a service.  H and I had to be social from 10 AM until 5 PM (set up, service, tear down).  After that, I went for a run and did laundry.  I am so exciting.

I'm sure everyone loved the narration of my weekend.  Normally, I'd plan for this week to be quiet (schedule less meetings and keep my evenings open), but unfortunately it's a big week at work.  I will be working hard to earn a quiet weekend.  Can't wait.
  • P.S.  @Swazzle - the picture of your ring reminded me that I need to take mine to the jewelers to get it cleaned up.  Yours is GORGEOUS.
  • @CocoBellaF - Thank you! You had such a busy weekend! All of that people business sounds like too much to me too. I hate having to be "on" that much and I'm not even an introvert.

  • @Swazzle - SF question: how many days before your SF is scheduled to arrive does it ship?
  • @Swazzle - The rings look gorgeous! Do you have 2 wedding rings or is it like a wrap? Also your costumes look cute!

@CocoBellaF - Glad the appt went well. Sounds like a very busy weekend, you've definitely earned a quiet one!

Friday I worked out twice! Who am I? After FI was home we watched tv and went to bed early. Saturday we ran so many errands! BUT we finalized our cake and our flowers. Those were the last 2 vendors to book! Plus flowers came in under budget so yay! Saturday night we got massages and FI really liked his. Mine was just ok. I was bummed because I was really looking forward to it. Afterwards we went to dinner at this place some friends had raved about. We were both unimpressed and FI actually got sick afterwards. Another early bedtime for us. We are so exciting.

Yesterday FI had to work so I ran errands and did laundry. Woo. Daylight savings really messed me up, I was struggling to stay awake at 7:30! I'm ready for Friday already.

I can't believe it is November.  I feel like this year has gone by really fast.

    @swazzle your costumes look awesome!

@cocobellaf that was a crazy busy weekend. I hope you can get time to relax.  I'd feel so tired after having to be "on" so much.

Friday we spent the night working on electric.  Saturday, I spent the day cleaning.  I put a bowl of candy outside, hoping that would not make Callie as upset.  She still freaked out. And the kids that came were brats.  After I heard a parent yell at them, I walked outside and found the candy bowl knocked over, and pumpkins kicked off my porch.  So my porch light went off and went to my sister's.

Yesterday I went to my mom's to do laundry.  We had a lazy day and caught up on most of our shows. Tonight, my bf and I are going for massages.  His mom gave me a giftcard for my birthday last year, so I'm excited I can finally use it.

  • @speakeasy14 - We had one little girl, maybe 4 years old, that actually tried to come in the house because I wasn't fast enough getting to the door with the candy.  It was freaky.  They had no parents with them.  AH!
  • @speakeasy14 - Wow sorry the trick or treaters were so rude! Enjoy your massage!!
  • @cocobellaf 4 years old and no parents with her?!! I can understand the older kids, but that's too little.   And creepy that she tried to walk into your house.

@jenjen047 your cake sounds sooooo good.  Especially the strawberry Grand Marnier filling!

  • @swazzle Sounds like you have a lot of kids in your neighborhood! We didn't get many this year.

@cocobellaf Damn girl you are busy!

@jenjen047 Yay for cake and flowers! What kind of flowers are you having?

Good Morning! Another work week, ugh. I laid low all weekend trying to get better from when I was sick last week. I feel better, but I still feel very tired. My H ended up working major overtime this weekend so I basically just stayed home and watched TV, read and ate nachos all weekend. Not bad!

The only thing that is awesome about this week is that it is dress down week! I'm feeling cozy in my ugg boots and jeans. I just have to remember to bring in my $10 donation by the end of the week lol Hoping that this day goes by super fast so I can go home and snuggle on the couch.
  • @twodimes we also got way too much candy lol we live on a dead end with a bunch of kids on it but nobody comes down here so once the kids on the street came by the candy flow out of here ceased. I hope my roommate takes it to work, because my sweet tooth can't handle the presence of candy.

@cocobellaf uhhh I'm all for kids trick or treating when they're a little older and with friends but a four year old by herself? WEIRD!

@swazzle your lazy day sounds AWESOME and I love the pic of your dog under the blankets lol
  • The 4 year old was with her siblings, I just meant no parents.  MY BAD.
  • The 4 year old was with her siblings, I just meant no parents.  MY BAD.
Oh. In that case, I think that's pretty normal. I used to take my sibs when they were old enough to trick or treat. But I wouldn't let them attempt to go inside anyone's house!!
  • I am getting my first flu shot after work today.  I'm a little nervous.  Won't be doing a work out with arms tonight I guess!!
  • @Peaseblossom55 - Let's see your new hairs!!
  • @twodimes - Your food is super cute, especially the peppers! Sorry you didn't have as many trick or treaters as you expected, but extra candy is always a good thing!! Also that wedding pic is amazing!!

@500days - I know nothing about flowers so I appreciated that the florist went through all the flowers with us at first. I chose roses, ranunculus, lisianthus....and I forget what else haha. My bouquet will be mostly creams with some pops of purple/lavender. My BMs will be the opposite. Enjoy dress down week! Do you teach at a private school?

@untouchablets - PUPPY!!!! Adorable! Remind me when your pup arrives? Also that plumbing situation sounds awful, I bet people were cranky about not getting their coffee. Also wait....are you not allowed to wear nail polish at work?
  • @helloliv I'm sure you looked absolutely gorgeous in the photos your friend took for your blog! I don't think I've seen a bad photo of you ever!

@peaseblossom55 Ugh...it's so disappointing when wedding food is blah.

  • @minskat30 Obviously you should have been an Indian princess for Halloween and worn one of your gorgeous saris or something!

  • @labro it is.  The cake wasn't too bad.

I can't do a hair pic right now I'm at work and it's getting busy.  Hopefully tonight I can.

    Anniversary

  • @peaseblossom55 ugh I hate leaving a wedding hungry

@minskat30 How to get away with murder, Reign, and Once Upon a Time are my current obsessions.  Also, Breaking Bad and Dexter were really good.

  • This is a P&R because I have a meeting in a little bit, but I will read through everyone's posts afterward!

Friday BF and I went to a Halloween party which was at a friend of a friend's home. It was a ton of fun, partially due to an open bar, and mostly because the people were a lot of fun.

Saturday I stayed home and crocheted. BF did an evening 5k (zombie run) and I had considered meeting for the after party, but found out that this big Halloween pub crawl was happening at the same time and I didn't want to get stuck in that mess. I'm glad I stayed home though. I'm almost done with a gigantic scarf I've been working on, I might finish it tonight!

Sunday I woke up SUPER early (thanks time change). Around noon I went to pick up BF and we drove a couple hours to go visit my Grandpa and my older sister. My mom was up there too. My Grandpa loved BF... but my sister did not seem to like him at all. She takes a while to warm up to people though (she's on the spectrum), and this is the first time she has ever met a BF of mine, so I figure eventually she won't mind him being around. Grandpa talked a lot about his career, he had worked as an engineer and contract negotiator for 35 years which sent him all over Europe and the USA. It was so interesting.

I thought this morning I would be able to wake up easily due to the time change, esp since I woke up early yesterday with no trouble. NOPE. It took everything in my power to roll out of bed! I wish we could stay one time year round... preferably DST since I like evening sunlight.

  • @jenjen047 My puppy is coming sometime in the spring, but my breeder is expecting a litter around Christmas that I am trying so hard to resist because I don't want to start potty training in the winter time lol. And no, because it's technically food service I can't wear nail polish, rings, or bracelets.
  • @jenjen047 Oh I love that color combo for flowers! I teach in a public school in RI. We do dress downs all of the time for charity. I love it!

@minskat30 Raj looks so comfy in bed! I'm sorry about your phone! Maybe try the cell phone guys at the mall? I know near me that they have their kiosks where they fix broken screen and jailbreak phones.

Soo I got a coverage for this period. It's a super quiet study and everyone appears to be doing what they are supposed to be doing. Only 6 more hours to go...
