Friday The 13th

Re: Friday The 13th

  • @minskat30  does it also mean chances are high baby will have celiac?
  • @minskat30 - I've stayed with two host families in foreign countries where I spoke none of the language, so I totally feel you on the loneliness part. I mostly just hung out with the kids because I could make stupid faces and we wouldn't really have to talk, haha. I am so jealous you get to go to a wedding! Indian weddings have always seemed so incredible to me.

    @CocoBellaF - Yes! Dishes! That's a great idea.

@cu97tiger - Any idea of what shows you're going to see? Or are you deciding once you get there? It sounds so fun! That's a trip I want to take with my little sister some day.

@beachyone15 - If you end up in Portland, we should definitely meet up! Let me know if you need any suggestions for what to do when you're over here. I've lived in both cities, haha.

    @TwoDimes - My guess is 235.

    ---------------

What's on your agenda this weekend? Tomorrow I am going to visit my friends and their new baby. They're about an hour and a half north, but I haven't seen them since August or so. I can't wait for baby snuggles! (Also pretty excited to hang out with their two labs.)

What/where is next on your travel plans? Chicago!!! WHY IS NO ONE MENTIONING CHICAGO?!?........ That is my next trip.

Any suspicions you have for Friday the 13th or otherwise? I'm not superstitious. But I suspect nothing out of the ordinary will occur.

Would you have a personal cook if you could? Yes! But if it would be cheaper then I would rather just have someone do my dishes. What is the max you would pay a month for a cook to come every day? $250 a month. Which is unreasonable, haha. But that is the only way I would consider it.

  • @AlPacina - I might not be able to make it. My coworker is due at the beginning of March and I don't know that I'll be able to take off at all when she's out on maternity leave :disappointed:

  • TwoDimes said:
@alpacina, I thought about mentioning Chicago! I am definitely going, I just don't consider it a "trip" since it's so close to me. I am not giving up on this though!!
Oh. All your location says is Midwest, so I actually have no clue at all where you live, haha.

  • OH I forgot to tell you guys. I had my 2nd ADHD appointment yesterday. After all my questionnaires, H's questionnaire, etc. etc., I scored in the 99th percentile. I get an A+ in ADHD!!

So, now I have to meet with my primary care doc, taper off my Effexor, and start the Adderall. Unfortunately, I can't get in with my PCP until 12/1, which is frustrating, because I just want to start the other meds!

Does anyone else here have any experience with Adderall or other ADHD meds? I'm actually really looking forward to trying them and seeing if I can function like a normal adult.

    @helloliv Love your outfit today!!

@GoldenPenguin My sister is on something...and it could be Adderall now for her ADHD. She was on something called vivance? before. I don't remember, but she switched to another drug. She likes it. She takes it as needed, which usually isn't daily unless she has class or something. I think she had the typical loss of appetite on it, but I don't remember any other crazy symptoms.

@Twodimes WHY IS EVERYTHING IN ITALICS? You fixed it. <3;)

Can this count as inserting myself into your conversation. :P I would love it if someone professionally styled my hair every damn day. That sounds like heaven.

  • @minskat30 - Sorry your trip has been a little rough. The wedding festivities sound really fun! I've always wanted to get henna for an event like that, so I hope you do!

@cocobellaf and @KeptInStitches- Super cute headbands!

@cu97tiger - I can't wait to follow your bib # for your race! May your legs and lungs feel strong! <3

@beachyone15 - Glad that insurance approved your brand new carpet!

@twodimes - I am in love with that MOOSE! OMG!

@goldenpenguin - Fit me in your suitcase for your trip please? Also, I am with you in that if I had extra money I'd get a trainer and someone to do my hair. I JUST told my stylist last night that I wish I could hire her to make my hair look good. I can never make it look right after leaving the salon.

@helloliv - That's so amazing! That's about the amount of weight I need to lose. Sounds like I need to check out your blog.

  • @minskat30 I can't wait to see pics from India! I hear ya on the language barrier, when I was younger I would spend summers with my mom's family in Colombia and even though I understood, I was just sick of speaking and listening to Spanish and missed English so badly.

@goldenpenguin I'm glad you got some answers about ADHD. Most of my students have a diagnosis- some respond to meds and some respond to routines and strategies. Regardless, I don't deal with the meds (not a doctor) but I constantly have parents asking me if they should up the dosages and what not. It's tricky.

It makes sense that it is Friday the 13th. I am so exhausted because I have been covering for my coworkers all week while they are away at a professional development. I will be at PD next week so I'll get a break from the kids soon. It's so hard being "on" all day. This is the first prep I have had in a long time.

Tonight I want to start watching How to get away with murder. Is it on netflix? Everyone tells me that it is the best show, so I definitely want to check it out.

Saturday I want to go shopping for my secret santa! That way I can give myself extra wrapping time, because I'm not super crafty- but I will put in the effort for my NEY SS!
  • @labro - My psychologist said he really likes Vyvanse, but that a lot of insurance companies don't cover it. I looked it up on my insurance today, and a 90-day supply of Vyvanse is $300, and a 90-day supply of Adderall is $12.50. I'll take the Adderall, please and thank you.

@alpacina - I really do need the help. My day-to-day and work life have suffered as a result of my inattentiveness, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. I could be much more productive & thorough. I have thought I've had ADHD for YEARS, but back in January or February I made a huge mistake at work (my old job) and got in really big trouble for it (I was supposed to do something, didn't do it, lied about doing it, and got found out), and that really prompted me to look into getting diagnosed. I can't risk making that big of a mistake with my current job.

  • I even hesitated posting today. I am in such a down mood.
What's on your agenda this weekend?
I have to be at the theatre tonight and then yoga tomorrow and errand running.  Nothing else is really planned for the rest of the weekend.

What/where is next on your travel plans?
    No idea.

Any suspicions you have for Friday the 13th or otherwise?
    None

Everyone here has a cook...would you have a personal cook if you could? What is the max you would pay a month for a cook to come every day?
I'd love to have one because I'm so lazy right now.  Not sure what I'd pay for that really.

    Anniversary

  • I forgot to the do the questions, silly me.

What/where is next on your travel plans?
We will probably make an NYC trip for the holidays but I would love to go somewhere during my April vacation.

Any suspicions you have for Friday the 13th or otherwise?
I just know that every Friday something goes wrong or some drama happens, so at least when it's the 13th I can blame it on that haha

Everyone here has a cook...would you have a personal cook if you could? What is the max you would pay a month for a cook to come every day?
I would love this but in reality I would probably get sick of it after a week. I agree with other PP that I like cooking with meal deliveries and I would rather allocate money for house cleaning!

@goldenpenguin I have heard of Vyvanse and Concerta as the latest and best drugs for ADD/ADHD. But remember, I am not a doctor lol but have to deal with 24 ADHD kids everyday. I think once you figure it all out you will be so much happier and productive!

@minskat30  does it also mean chances are high baby will have celiac?

Unlikely...both parents have to have and manage to pass the gene. Indians (H) rarely have the gene (Scandinavians like me are the most common with it I think) so baby minskat will likely be fine.
  • @500days - My psychologist said he doesn't like to put women on Concerta because it makes them SUPER moody. I've also read a few things that said people (women especially) can get MEAN. I don't want that. I think I will try Adderall first and hope that does the trick, because I also really don't want to have to spend $100/month for Vyvanse!

Unacceptable. :( I will call your work myself to complain if needed.
  • @eilis1228  that does not sound enjoyable at all

  • Omg @eilis1228 I'm getting an IUD next week!! I have no idea what to expect, but if you almost fainted I'm worried! I faint all the freaking time.
  • @helloliv Congrats on the weight loss and reaching that milestone!

@TwoDimes I have a coworker like that. She's just obnoxious in general anyways.

@eilis1228 Welcome back! Ugh I will never get an IUD because I'm too much of a baby. I really don't know how I'm going to get through childbirth someday.

I had some sharp cramping during insertion, and mild cramping for the rest of the day. I went back to work after. It's different for everyone! Take some ibuprofin or other painkiller ahead of time.

  • @GoldenPenguin thanks! I never thought about pain before. I'm sure I can handle it but I'll have to bring soda with me or something in case I faint. To give you an idea, I fainted during my first time getting acupuncture and nearly went down when I got my first tattoo. Better safe than sorry lol
