It's TUESDAY!

So spill!

I weighed myself this morning and I'm down 1 lb. Woohoo! I really need to make a better effort at being active (and running) since I'm running the Hot Chocolate 5k at the end of January though...

I spent 3 hours last night wrapping the ILs presents and I AM BEAT! Why is wrapping so hard? Does someone have any house elves they can loan me?

H and I had an unplanned dinner with my mom and dad because H had to help with some tech stuff. They were also babysitting Callie so I got some serious bonding time in with her. I got at least four massive gummy smiles which made me SO happy you guys. I just love this child so much!

Re: It's TUESDAY!

  • @labro Nice job down a pound! I bet your gifts look all perfect and beautiful. My wrapping takes 10 minutes but it looks like crap haha

So I'm flying to AZ for my cousin's wedding. It's in the beginning of February, evening wedding and the invitation says dress for outdoors. It's taking place at my uncle's house so it's not like there is no place to warm up, but I guess the majority of the wedding is held in the yard. I have no idea what to wear! The weather there at that time will be anywhere from 40-60...I'm thinking there's no way I can wear a dress, but I don't want to seem too casual in dress pants...what are your suggestions? (I'll have to buy a new outfit for it anyways since I'll have a slight belly by then)

  • @cu97tiger I love it! I hope you have fun with your niece and nephew this week! And I am glad you're staying in MD, moving west is too far even though I know your heart is in AZ!

  • @jenna8984 Why not wear stockings or tights with a sweater dress or a nice dress with a cardigan/wrap/jacket? I guess usually for me with winter wear it's more important to keep my torso warm because I can stand my legs being kind of chilly.

  • @cu97tiger - I'm glad you all finally know if you're moving or not... even if it is anti-climactic.  I can imagine how stressful it is, waiting for months to know if you're staying or going!
  • @labro being an aunt is the best.

@cu97tiger at least now you know where your placement is.

I am so tired.  I started up a new med I need to take for the next week and I think that is causing the tired and dizzy feeling.  I hope today goes by quickly. I have a few meeting at work.  Ughhh this morning H tells me we have a mouse.  He tried and failed to catch it last night and was up pretty late trying.  He is getting traps this morning.  I don't even want to go home after work until it's gone.  As I left the house I told the cats it was their job to find and kill it.  We never had this problem before, so no idea of how it happened.

I have to run a few errands after work and depending on my energy level, I want to make a soup for lunches, work on some Christmas cards and maybe hopefully make some chocolate meringues.  We will see.

    Anniversary

  • @peaseblossom55 I hope the new meds quit with their side effects!! I'm planning on working on Christmas cards today too.

  • Ugh. I feel sick. I'm so annoyed at my work friend who I'm almost positive gave this to me. She came in to work every day last week even though she had a sore throat and could barely talk. I DO NOT want to be sick over Christmas. Stay at home when you're sick people!!!

    *rant over*

  • @beachyone15 Ughhh I hate it when people come in to the office sick, especially if your office gives you sick leave. :( I hope you feel better soon and this doesn't linger through Christmas!

  • @labro - Thanks. If I don't feel any better tomorrow I'm going straight to the doctor. I have no hesitations about getting drugs so that I don't get any worse.

  • I went to bed a little early last night and I STILL couldn't get up when my alarm went off. I think I hit snooze twice and I even showered last night so I didn't have to get up quite as early.

@labro Nice job! I HATE wrapping. I always do a messy job, I'm just not good at it. This week  I need to pick up H's gifts that I had sent to my aunt's house so I can at least start wrapping.

@jenna8984 I'll go with @labro's suggestion for what to wear. IMO I think it's rude to expect people to hang out outside when it might only be 40 degrees out!

I don't really have anything going on today. I'm boring.

  • @lavenderfields13 @jenna8984 I'm pretty sure my wrapping looks like a 5 year old did it. I just try to hide it by adding ribbons and bows. ;)

  • @Swazzle - That pizza is epic.  YUM.
  • @labro I hope but only 6 more doses

    Anniversary

  • @TwoDimes OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You had better tell us right away!!!!!

  • @twodimes thank you. Yay baby watch is so exciting!

    Anniversary

  • @Peaseblossom55 - I hope you can get some relief from the side effects of your meds.  How are you doing?
  • @cu97tiger nice, at least you know now!

@labro yea true, I usually wear tights when it's like 65 out so it might not be warm enough but we'll see I guess!!

@peaseblossom55 Hope you feel better soon. We have mice in our new house, our cat only caught one upstairs though, the rest we have trapped in the garage.

@lavenderfields13 ugh same here, I've ben going to be at 9 and still at my 6:30 alarm (which should be plenty of sleep) I just cannot get up.

@twodimes yaaaay good luck for your whole fam

@cocobellaf did you mention how your apt went yesterday?

  • @jenna8984 - No I didn't, but everything was fine.  Thanks for asking.
  • @jenna8984 That's pretty much my schedule too. I am not a morning person and I require a ton of sleep!

  • Morning folks!

@jenna8984 I was thinking same idea as @labro with the leggings part. I'm not familiar with the area, but maybe ask your uncle what weather is typically like?

@Peaseblossom55 side effects suck :( hopefully that fades off soon!

@beachyone15 boo sick!! I've been fighting a sinus thing for a bit now

    @TwoDimes whooo! Baby!

So almost late to my exam last night. 2 buses didn't show, but luckily by the time I was close to my apt Matt was home so I just hopped off the bus and into the car. BARELY MADE IT! Lol

Afterwards I went to Walmart to browse a few things and pick up a new laundry basket. Terrible decision to have McD's and I think that's going to be part of my New Years resolutions .... stop eating crap that makes me sick! :\

Tonight I have a dentist appt, and I'm definitely not looking forward to it, but glad I'll have it dealt with. I feel like they're going to tell me I have to have a root canal. *sigh* That's going to have to be held off on until later if it's a thing.

I'm hoping I'm not too out of it {I get nitro for the needles and sometimes I get spacey afterwards} because I was hoping to start organizing presents.
  • Morning!

@labro - WOOO down 1 lb!! That's awesome! I suck at wrapping gifts and usually leave it until the last minute and then want to cry.

@peaseblossom55 - I'm sorry your meds are giving you trouble. Also I would be freaked out about the mouse too!! Hopefully everything resolves itself soon!! Chocolate meringues sound amazing!

@swazzle - I didn't know breakfast pizza was a  thing but OMG NOMS.

@beachyone15 - Oh no! Feel better! I always stay home when I'm sick so it definitely irks me when people don't do the same. Don't they want to stay in bed in their jammies???

@cu97tiger - I'm sorry the job news was anti-climactic, but it must be nice to at least know where you'll be long term.

@jenna8984 - I second the dress with tights. Also I totally side eye the "outdoor wedding in 40 degree weather" thing. WTF are these people thinking?

We are getting our 2nd HelloFresh delivery today and I am excited! We had BA last week and hated it. I hate their packaging and the recipes were too complicated and 2 of 3 were not even good. Unfortunately I forgot to cancel BA so we are getting another box this week...so we will have 2 boxes this week. Oops!

I ordered a sweatshirt to wear when I'm getting ready on the wedding day that says Mrs. My New Last Name and it shipped yesterday! I'm so excited! It might be kind of cheesy but IDGAF. I also decorated shirts for the BMs/MOH. I thought it would be cheaper to DIY but honestly it probably came out even or close to even as if I had bought  them. Humph.

    Rant ahead:
FIs family is causing all sorts of drama and being really childish. The only thing we have asked of them is for the guys to get measured for suits. That is literally the only thing they have had to do for this wedding, and yet it was like pulling teeth to get them to do what we needed. FFIL kept just giving us his suit size even though we told him multiple times we needed him to get measured at a tailor. Then he lied and said he couldn't go to the tailor because he was sick, but then an hour later was posting pictures on FB of him at a bar getting drunk.  Then we told everyone that we are asking our guests to please not take pictures during the ceremony and he said "no one is going to tell me what to do any own son's wedding". Ummm except the people actually hosting the event can tell you what to do!! And you should want to respect your son's wishes for his own wedding!!! UGH.

There is also family drama with FFIL and FBIL and FI is worried they won't have it resolved by the time they come here in 4 weeks. I told him if that's the case then it is what it is and hopefully they can be civil enough to get through our wedding. I feel bad for FI because I know he is embarrassed and upset, but it's also made me even more thankful that FI is the Black Sheep of his family in the best possible ways.

And finally....FFIL wants to give a toast at the wedding. We have a lot of people already giving toasts (both my parents, best man, MOH, and plus FI wants to say a quick thank you)  and I know too many toasts can be boring, so I want to limit it. Plus, from everything I've seen and heard it sounds like that's not the norm unless the groom's family has contributed to the wedding, so I said that traditionally the groom's family speaks at the RD and he is welcome to give a toast then (even though they aren't hosting that event, either). He tends to throw a tantrum when he doesn't get his way and/or isn't the center of attention so we will see how this goes over......

OK, rant over. Thanks for letting me vent. Is it 5pm yet???
  • @labro I always go into wrapping with big ambitions and then start getting aggravated and finish the job with giftbags.
@jenna8984 I third/fourth/fifth going with a dress plus tights. That's my go-to for chilly weather.
@beachyone15 I hope you feel better! I can't stand people that wander the halls hacking their lungs up or hang out with other coworkers when sick. I isolate myself if I have to be at work and I'm not feeling well, I don't want others catching anything!

All day yesterday I had an intense craving for stuffing, so when I got home I made some and that was my dinner. (I had salad too, had to round out that meal). I crocheted and watched Netflix. Everyone's posts here have reminded me I need to do my Christmas cards, so hopefully I remember to do that tonight.

    I'm boring this week.

  • @swazzle breakfast pizza sounds so good.

@beachyone15 Feel better! I hate when co workers get others sick, they really just need to stay home.
