Re: Unpopular Opinions

  • I don't think Seinfeld is funny.

  • I don't like cupcakes.
  • I don't really know where Benedict Cumberbatch came from. And I think he is really homely looking.

I'm not really a fan either.  Or should I say I prefer mini-cupcakes.   Basically I don't like normal size ones because they are messy to eat.    Mini-ones I can just pop  in my mouth.

I'm the one who eats cupcakes with a fork. I also slice up a muffin to eat.

Everything @lyndausvi said! They're messy and I hate getting frosting on my hands. I'll eat them with my fork if I have to.

Me too. I also eat messy sandwiches, gyros, pizza, stuff like that with a fork. I rarely eat in public with my hands.

I use a fork too.  H does the cupcake sandwich thing for full size ones where you basically tear off (or cut) the cake part in half and squish the frosting between the 2 cake halves. Quite a feat with a GiGi's cupcake overflowing with frosting.
  • As long as it's not a filled cupcake, this is how I eat them.

Hey - I will eat cake any damned way you hand it to me.  Cupcake, mini cupcake, mega cupcake, slice of cake, a cake with a fork (preferred method) - makes no difference to me but the cupcake hate is pretty scary.

Seinfeld wasn't funny and I don't watch So You Think You Can Dance or whatever the Hell it is called.

The only reality TV shows I watch are on HGTV or cooking shows.    I've never seen Survivor, Big Brother, Amazing Race, Bachelor/Bachelorette, Dancing with the stars or any like shows.    I've only seen American Idol and The Voice because it was one at my sister's house and she loves those shows.

Oddly, I know who wins most of those shows. Reason?  Morning TV sees the needs to keep us up to date.  Like I somehow care.

  • I don't think Adam Levine is even the slightest bit attractive.
    This! And he's whiny.

I've never seen any housewives. Or any reality tv that isn't top chef.

I don't think little dogs are cute.
  • I don't like pizza
I don't either.  I thought I was the only one. It just doesn't do it for me - never fills me up.  It's either super greasy or fancy and fresh but not meaty enough.  I suck it up every once in while for pizza parties and keep my dislike on the DL.  But I should just own it.

I don't DISLIKE pizza, but it is never my first choice and I don't get why everyone loves it. If I am given two options for a meal and one of them is pizza, I almost always choose the alternative.

That is kind-of how I am.  DH can pizza everyday.  I see him eating pizza a few days a week.   I'm good for 1-2 times a month.  He says I hate I pizza.  Umm, no.  I just don't like every day like you do.  That does not equal hate.

DH is making homemade pizza dough for Christmas as just a snack.  I look forward to his homemade pizza.   But after one piece I'm good for another few weeks.

H makes homemade pizza too, and I definitely prefer it to most restaurant pizza - but still, 1-2x/month is more than enough for me.

  • I have so many UOs, its hard to choose.  I sometimes wonder how I can even function in our present world at all, lol.

Continuing the current food theme...I don't care for sweets, especially chocolate.  It's not that I don't like them or can't eat them, but most of the time I'm just "meh" and pass on dessert/cookies/candy bars.

I hate, hate, hate Steel Magnolias.  So sappy.  The main character (Julia Roberts) is stupid and irritating.  But, worst of all, it adds even more layers of myth and total misunderstanding to Type I Diabetes.

Keanu Reeves is the worst actor ever.  Why is he a grown man who still has a "valley boy" accent?  The only role he was halfway decent in was the Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure movies...because I think that character is pretty true to his own personality.  I don't understand the love for him.

I'd heard of Elf on a Shelf, but didn't even know what the deal was with him until a couple weeks ago.  I thought it sounded pretty funny, but my coworker with a young daughter assured me it is actually just a huge PITA.

    I don't like children singing.

I don't like street performers.  Even when they're great...which is rare...I'm busy going somewhere and don't want to be "entertained".  Double dislike if they are blocking the sidewalk/street and in my way.

On the subject of gentrification, I live in NOLA and this issue has been getting a lot of press lately.  I have found it stunning that people actually complain when the crack house on the corner gets fixed up and three blighted houses on their block...abandoned since Katrina...FINALLY had someone buy them and do something with them.  So, it's a bummer when the drug dealers on the corner have to move on because the neighborhood improved?  Ooookkkkaaayyyy.  I get that improvement neighborhoods come with higher rents, but that is 1000x better than a war zone.  That may not be the trade-off for other places, but that's the deal here...and people still complain about it.

The thing I've found I don't like about pizza is the sauce. Most places add sugar to their tomato sauce, which makes it too sweet for me. I do like pizza that doesn't have tomato sauce on it, but not usually my first choice on the menu.

I hate sweet sauce also.  Pizza or marinara.

I do not like Keanu Reeves either.   Or Nicholas Cage.

What do you mean, you don't like this face?!?!

Kidding. I find Nicolas Cage's face to be incredibly unsettling.

  • H calls his truck "THE dually".  It's never just "my truck".  It's "THE dually".  His dad does the same thing, but he at least has multiple trucks for his business so I can see the need to differentiate.  We only have one truck.

Unpopular opinion: I hate trucks with duallies. I think they make the truck look ugly, and they also suck for driving in snow.

Also, what I thought was an unpopular opinion but maybe not so much, H and I are planning to start our family later this year, and I am so looking forward to being a stay-at-home mom. I enjoy my job, but I'm very much looking forward to taking care of a baby, have a garden, maybe raise some animals (chickens or ducks possibly) and have more time to clean, cook, sew, put up food and just keep up our house.

I don't know what my problem is, but he just doesn't do it for me.  I rarely tell anyone I know because of the extreme reaction I get.  If you want to know, Kyle Chandler is my celebrity crush!

@Moppet82, he is mine, too! I am madly in love with him. Even though I'd seen him before, I think the day I fell madly in love with him was when he played the bomb squad guy in Grey's Anatomy. WHY DID HE HAVE TO DIE!?!?!?
