Confession - I am so so so freaking glad I'm not friends with anyone from my high schools. I just don't think I could live with the long term drama.

Follow-up Confession - While I'm glad h/s and all that is associated with it is far behind me, I miss having local girlfriends. All the women I've become close with as an adult haven't stayed in the area and they've all moved away for new jobs. I love my internet friends who have also become IRL friends but I wish I had more women I could hang out with at random versus having to take a flight to see.

I judge that my boss wants to hire a senior admin for our office and doesn't think experience with Excel is a necessary skill.

I judge myself for wearing peep toe pumps when it's raining outside.

I confess that I avoid getting in the elevator with some people because I don't want to have to make idle chit-chat with them.

I confess that I have been eating really healthy all week (I know it's only Thursday), but I really want Mexican food and a big margarita tonight.

I just don't understand the dislike for fruits and vegetables?! Even as a kid, I ate all of them. But honestly, IDGAF how bitchy this comes off, if you're trying to have a healthier lifestyle and lose weight, you NEED to eat more fruits and vegetables and less of everything else or you'll just gain back any weight you lose.

@labro you want a confession? I confess that I have a huge confession but don't want to confess it because it makes me a terrible person. And you all might judge me for feeling the way I do but you will most certainly judge me for vague knotting so I'll go ahead and confess this but might DD it later so please don't quote (or judge too much, either me or my family).

Some background, my sister has always been the family favorite and I'm honestly at peace with it for the most part, she enjoys being the center of attention and I'm ok with my role too of being more in the backdrop. This has been the case from really early on and outsiders to my family have point blank stated it (to me, my parents, etc.). Just by way of example, my sister's wedding was paid for by my parents (the first comment literally out of my family’s mouth when I got engaged before “Congrats” was “You know we aren’t financially helping with the wedding, right?”), the down payment for her first house was paid for/the house she currently lives in is our family’s home that my mom gifted to her (I’ve supported myself completely since 18), if she has a health issue the family is very concerned/worried/stressed (if I have a health issue I'm told to "buck up" essentially). The long and short of it is my sister is pregnant. I'm happy for her (genuinely and I really love her so please keep that in mind) but her kids are 16 and 10, she struggles with my BIL to afford the kids she has, she has major health issues already (high BP, clinically obese, borderline diabetes, etc.) and when I told her I was going to try to have a kid her immediate response was "I miss having a baby! I want one!". When I found out I was pregnant I told her and my mom and both were genuinely happy for us after 8 or so months of trying...and then my sister went to her doctor to get her IUD removed (I believe, based on when she got KU, within a few weeks after I told her I was pregnant) so she could get pregnant too. She is due in August and was supposed to be my support person along with H in the L&D room (I was hers for her pregnancy). Of course, now she has even worse BP, has gestational diabetes already confirmed, etc. .... my ultimate confession is I feel really selfish saying it but I guess I’m a little sad that my family’s focus now is of course on my sister and her pregnancy and not mine. I don't get calls to see how I'm feeling very often and I guess I'm feeling sorry for myself. They plan on throwing me a shower still but I'm more than a little nervous it is going to turn into another version of when I was getting ready for my wedding day (where the focus was on my sister, how uncomfortable she was, she didn't want to give a speech, she didn't want to take pictures, etc.). I'm going to be thrilled that our kids will grow up together but I'm also worried that Ani is going to get the same/similar treatment vs my sister's kid (i.e., the favoritism) and that would BREAK my heart.

I think that is a big enough confession for the next two years so there you go...I'm a terrible sister for thinking/feeling it.

@beachyone15 I enjoy showers too unless they are awkward but if they have alcohol then it's always a plus lol.

@untouchablets - I still don't understand why you'd be upset about that but... I guess it's a confession for a reason.

@beachyone15 - Can you get something like a burrito bowl? Or if it's a restaurant that doesn't have those, how about getting fajitas? Those aren't terrible! Load the shit out of 2 tortillas instead of the 27 they put in front of you! I will NEVER EVER EVER disapprove of a marg.

Yeah it's not like I'm not eating any veggies, I eat the ones I like every single day, at least twice a day. I understand the importance of having a healthy diet, I make up for the lack of variety by making sure I eat a lot of what I do like.

@minskat30 Hugs! Don't ever ever feel bad for making a confession like that. Everyone deserves to have the same attention and excitement during these special moments of their life. You're amazing and doing such a great job already! I expect you to be an amazing mother and your baby will get so much attention and love and will know nothing of getting anything less than that. If I lived near you I would probably annoy the shit of you wanting to snuggle that child and give you all the hugs! I promise I'm not a creep.

@minskat30 that does not make you a bad sister at all! My grandmother very openly chooses favorites and we butt heads because of it. My cousins can do no wrong, meanwhile my sisters and brother get treated like garbage. Just give Ani all the love and support you can, and teach her to be strong. And plus also, she has a ton of aunties all over the country who will already spoil her lots!

I do know that I plan on visiting you guys at some point in the near-term future if we can't get you both to a GTG otherwise.

@minskat30 I'm pretty sure I'd feel the same way and I don't think that makes you a terrible person at all. That's my opinion.

I don't get why people think it's so unbelievable that some people don't love veggies. If you try something and don't like it, what's the big deal? I'm not going to force myself to eat carrots if I hate them and be miserable about it. Not everyone likes the same things.

@minskat30 - I don't think you're horrible at all. Quite the contrary, I think it's horrible for parents/family members to openly say one of their children is the "favorite"/treat them as such.

@minskat30 I think you're brave for standing up and saying something like that. I won't lie, I tend to judge people who are all "It's my day (wedding) and it should be about meeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!" or even "She got pregnant and it's supposed to be about meeeeeeeeeeee" but I think it's so clear that your family obviously plays favorites. And IMO, she's your sister, she should be there for you and she isn't!

Less serious confessions/judgments...

II: The plumber is at our house finalizing the bathroom fixtures/water heater/toilet and will likely be there well into the evening. I can't relax at home with someone in our house who isn't a friend/family so I'm II at him for being there tonight even though I want this bathroom DONE.

Confess: I confess that I have a love/hate relationship with Craigslist. I found a STEAL of a dresser on craigslist...$150, mint condition, real wood, perfect height to double as a changing table, already painted white, etc. I emailed the lady within 2 hours of her posting it for sale (I would have texted but she posted it at 9 pm and I saw the post at 11 pm), followed up with a text this morning and she already sold it. Then I found a non-steal of a deal but still a decent enough one for a baby item I wanted to get and the lady keeps setting up times to meet to exchange money/the item and then flakes out on me EACH TIME but still wants to meet. WTF Craigslist people. WTF.

I know, I make H come with me any time I meet anyone up...I have an irritation fear of ending up being cut open by someone who wants to take my baby or some weird shit like that. Some people are so cool and decent on CL and then some are just bizarre and I wonder if they are legitimately trying to sell some of the things they are "selling" or just "testing the market" so to speak.

Confession: I've been working at my friends dog grooming shop today and one of my dog training clients came in. I've been hiding from him because he keeps cancelling my classes and wanting to reschedule, even though we have repeatedly agreed upon dates and times that are supposed to work for both of us. I don't want him to see me because I know he's going to want to talk about it AGAIN because he missed class on Tuesday and it's just gonna have to wait until tomorrow.
