@southernpeach89 – Steak salad is the freaking best! And I absolutely hate when strangers want to brag to you. Like, who gives a crap, buddy? A waiter at a fancy steak restaurant kept telling us how we "have" to order our steaks a certain way, because he worked his way up from Applebees and knows best. . . He got a very small tip.

@hummingbird125 – Baby clothes are the freaking best! Everyone should just let me buy all their babies all the clothes.

@CocoBellaF – I totally remember watching Ben Hur with my grandma and thinking it was the longest thing ever! I didn’t know they were doing a remake, but I hope it’s good!

@500days – Man, I could eat cereal for every meal every day.

@jenna8984 – OMG, maple mayo on a burger sounds incredible!

@MissKittyDanger – I’m sorry Matt didn’t get interviewed! I hope something great comes his way soon. I’m glad your dinner was lovely though.

@beachyone15 – OMG, your painting is incredible!! Did YOU paint it? Do you sell your work? Cuz I want one!

Good morning, y'all! I had a very hard time waking up today.

- Friday night my BF got stuck in terrible traffic because a semi caught on fire ON THE FREAKING BRIDGE between states. We made it just in time to meet his brother, his brother's FI, and his mom for a dining month dinner. I had French onion soup, butternut squash and gorgonzola ravioli, and crème brulee. They were in town for their cake tasting, so we also got to have cake samples after!

- Saturday we went on a hike with the brother and FI because BF wanted to show them how out of shape they are, haha. They want him to take them up a mountain this year, so he thought killing them would make them realize they had work to do. Well, his brother's FI gave up almost immediately, so I went back down to the car with her and we played with the dog for over 2 hours.

- Sunday we were total bums. I finally finished Devil in the White City and LOVED IT. Although, fuck, they burned down basically the entire World's Fair so that it wouldn't just sit there and deteriorate. I thought there would be more left when I'd visit Chicago. Oh well, still excited!.... I started watching Married at First Sight and am ashamed to say I am totally hooked. BF won't be seeing much of me for the next few days..... We went out for dining month again and I had oysters, grilled chicory salad, and an entire half of a chicken that was completely falling off the bone. YUMMM. Plus, an amazing cocktail of vodka and blood orange something or other.

What foods are you planning to eat today? I just had a breakfast quesadilla, I don't know what's for lunch, and dinner is some sort of cod dish from Blue Apron.

Favorite alcoholic beverage? I'm just gonna go with vodka. I like it mixed with pretty much anything.

Favorite non-alcoholic beverage? Still Peace Tea.

Favorite kind of cake? Chocolate. Or chocolate with raspberry filling.

Favorite kind of cookie? The kinds that come from Girl Scouts. Samoas, probably.

Would you prefer to give up dessert, booze, or pasta? I am reconsidering my friendship with anyone who chose pasta (@speakeasy14). My answer is booze. If I want to get wasted I can always huff paint.

@swazzle - It's hard to compare because each workout is very specific (# of reps plus which movements we're doing), but I can probably say that if I had tried doing any of this a year ago, I wouldn't have gotten through the workouts, let alone put up the #s I'm putting up. I just want to be better!!

@untouchablets - Dessert, I barely eat it anyway? WHAT???!

How did you keep your mouth shut around your uncles? That would have driven me crazy!!

@lavenderfields13 and @speakeasy14 - My office used to be in the same building as a massage school. I went there once ($20 for a 60 min massage) and it was awful. It was like my four-year old niece just pushing on different parts of my body. I didn't have the heart to tell them it was awful in the moment, though. I'm sure I should have, since it's a school, but it was just so awkward.

@southernpeach89 - Yeah, I'm definitely not comparing myself to everyone in the world... just my box. There are a couple people that I've taken classes with over the past few months and I feel like our numbers should be close, and they have just been blowing me out of the water every week.

@minskat30 - I always thought not having alcohol if I got pregnant would be easy, but now I'm thinking about not drinking for the 6 weeks during IVF and I'm already wanting to cry about it! I love the colors of the room! Gray and turquoise are so soothing and pretty!

@pambeesly524 - Yep. my H would be jealous! We have a friend that is a brewmaster at a major label, but they live 2,000 miles from us, so it doesn't really help us.

I have a couple FWPs today.

1. I arrived at Chipotle at 10:45 and they don't open til 11 so I had to sit and wait for my lunch.

2. I dropped my wedding and e-ring and H's ring off at the jewelers today for some regular maintenance and now my hand feels naked. I keep rubbing my fingers together expecting to feel my rings and it's SO WEIRD!!!!!!!

I HATE forgetting to put my ring back on (not an e/w-ring obviously, just my every day ring), and it makes me feel like my hands are off balance or something. Not pleasant.

@cu97tiger Well I held to it for awhile but I didn't keep my mouth shut entirely unfortunately! I lasted through the really terrible racist stuff somehow...but then when my one uncle started going off on how people shouldn't be protesting Trump I definitely lost my cool and couldn't keep it in anymore!

@wink0erin omg I can relate! My mom filled her dining room with stuff that was "mine." I ended up leaving half of the boxes because it was stuff I didn't want or have space for. She still keeps trying to pawn it off on me. I just keep telling her to sell or donate them.

@wink0erin I would have been very stressed out having all that stuff dumped in my house as well. I'm already worried about MIL trying to buy us a bunch of crap when we finally get a house. I think gift giving is like her love language but I want us to pick out our own decor/furnishings for our home. It's kind of an irrational irritation of mine- having to keep something and display it because it was a gift.

@AlPacina - I love Married at First Sight, but it's frustrating as hell to watch. I feel like all the couples do really stupid things that are obviously going to hurt their marriages. But I still can't turn away.

@beachyone15 - I'm only halfway through the first season, but seriously, if Cortney and Jason don't make it I'm probably just going to give up on life.

@Swazzle - I smile a ton when I'm watching the show because so many sweet moments happen. But at the same time, I can't believe that there is any way you'd feel a genuine connection to this new person with cameras in your face the whole time. I dunno. I don't think your friend should go on it, haha.

@cu97tiger - I went during the "two week wait" without alcohol for several months when trying to get pregnant and it was terrible combined with the stress of negative tests. I gave that up after a few months of no luck and I, honestly, had a little bit of a blow out weekend a few days before I got a positive pregnancy test with Ani (I was testing every day so it was probably 10 days into fertilization or so, so I'm not worried since I gave it up cold turkey when I got the faintest of faintest lines). I would say don't worry about it because IVF is difficult enough to do without drinking but I know how much time/money/heart you have invested in this process and there is a little (little being the key word here) evidence that alcohol (BUT what I've read said "excessive" alcohol not any alcohol) can inhibit the fertilized egg attaching. I doubt a glass of wine or two is going to impact much to be honest. If you give it up, I'll be right there along with you on the sober train if that helps.

@labro - My bathroom is doomed, I agree. Damn project is taking forever. At least the nursery is starting to come together. I need to get a side table for the glider and am thinking of THIS one.

@speakeasy14 My mom even brought a bag of groceries, things I would "definitely" use. I won't use any of it! I appreciate the thought, but it will all go to waste unless I donate it. Most of the things I end up tossing or donating are things my well-meaning mom has given me.

Her new thing has been unloading family heirlooms on me, which passes the guilt to me. Yes, I have a house. But it is NOT a mansion!

@cu97tiger I eat deserts on special occasions but that's basically it lol otherwise I live day to day dessert free! I eat pasta and at least twice a week and an alcohol-free existence sounds horrible to me!

@minskat30 - The only reason I'm giving up alcohol completely during the IVF cycle is because I tend to be dehydrated. Alcohol only exacerbates that, so I'll err on the side of caution and not drink at all during that time. I have a wedding to go to around 10 days after what would be considered 'conception' and I do plan on having a couple sips of champagne to toast the couple.

Also, you're totally in the clear! Blood flow to the fetus doesn't start until around 5 weeks, so your alcohol at 3 weeks + 3 days is NBD

@wink0erin OMG you are a genius! Shopping online with a Visa gift card is a pain in the butt anyway because you have to treat it like a credit card. So much easier to buy one or two gift cards and then put any overage on a legit credit card.

@AlPacina I was really bummed that most of the buildings from the World's Fair were burned too. I visited Chicago a few years ago for a conference and stayed at the Hilton directly across from the park where they held the World's Fair. It's a gorgeous park and a really nice walk. They have a replica of the statue there. As morbid as this sounds, I was more upset that they demolished the murder house. I would looooooove a tour of that place. A redditor just did a really amazing Kickstarter with a recreation of the layout of the house, and I contributed and got a puzzle of it. It hasn't been mailed yet, but here's the LINK to the Kickstarter.
