In less than 12 hours I'll be in the air, on my way to Chicago to see @audrewuh @speakeasy14@minskat30 @TwoDimes @AlPacina @500days @caseface5 and Suzie!!!!

H is picking me up from work and dropping me off at the airport and my flight is at 6:30 and it just can't get here soon enough!

I'm SO excited for this weekend!

Callie was crawling around like crazy last night! I posted a video to FB but I'm not entirely sure how to post one on here. It was awesome.

I'm working from home today and I need to get some cleaning done especially vacuuming since Callie is all over the place. She is probably eating lbs of dog hair right now.

Saturday and Sunday DH is working all weekend so I plan to just hang out with Callie and my mom. We were invited to a Braves game on Sunday but it would probably be difficult to go by myself with Callie so we will probably just hang out at home.

It's finally here!!!! I'm at work until noon, then flying home to change and grab my bags, let Tess out, and head to the airport! My flight is at 4 and I get there at 6 tonight. I can't wait to see/meet/squeeze @minskat30 @AlPacina @Swazzle @audrewuh @500days @speakeasy14 @TwoDimes and Suzie!

I am so glad it's the weekend. I've got my normal short Friday, so I'll be leaving work at 11 or so.

No real big plans for us this weekend, mostly setting stuff up (bookshelves, crib, glider, etc.) because this weekend puts us in the official 100 days or less countdown... if we can actually make it to the due date. I bought some SUPER cute stuff to organize her closet, so that will be my project while H does all the furniture stuff. Hopefully I'll have something to AW next week. For now, here's a sneak peek...

Oh! I've got to brag on one of my piano students. She is in 7th grade, very very quiet, not a big personality type. I've had her for a few years. The past year or so, she's really started to open up and we chat. I tutored her in math for a while because she skipped to 8th grade math when she went to junior high. I also helped her with some applications for math and engineering camps this summer. She needed some extra help because her family is from Bangladesh, and so her English writing style reflects a more formal, obviously-a-second-language style and she wanted to be sure that what she was writing actually made sense to a typical American.

Anyway, she came to her lesson last night with some Ferrero Rochers... it was a thank you for helping her so much with the camps, because she got in!! It's for girls all over the USA, so her odds of being picked weren't great. We both got really excited and celebrated.

Also, we have recital coming up and this year I kind of let the girls be creative instead of picking out their pieces for them. She came to lessons a few weeks ago with a song she wanted to do, something from a famous Bollywood film. She saw a tutorial on YouTube and found the music for it and started learning it. Not only does she have the piano down, but this is the first song that I was able to get her to put herself into it. We talked about swelling the music, letting it ebb and flow, so that you're taking the listeners on a journey with you, and how to end it so that you slowly let the listeners come back down to reality. She played it yesterday for me, and it's just gorgeous. Normally she's a very mechanical player, all technique and no emotion or passion. But I'm so proud of her. It's a beautiful piece and it was mostly her... I just fixed a few things here and there and helped her pretty it up a bit. I can't wait for recital.

TL;DR: I have a piano student that is coming out of her shell and I'm bragging about her.

@cocobellaf I really want H to install some shelves like that! We just have the one basic bar right now but I already have things piling up in the room that need a place to go! Hope you get a lot done.

I am freaking jealous of every person going to Chicago! I seriously miss girl hang outs (my friends suck and are never available) Have a super fabulous time and for the love of God post some pics to facebook because if you come back Monday and post them here my work will block them!!

I was pretty successful at TJMaxx last night, got 2 maxi dresses. A plain navy one with pockets and modest neckline that'll be great for work. And a more funky pink/purple geometric pattern with cool crotchet detail in the back. And I found a perfect little 3x3 picture frame that said "love you more" so I got it and put an ultrasound picture in it on my dresser.

@jenna8984 - I want to see the maxi dresses. I've tried on a few, but they just make me look bigger than I am (I guess because I'm so short and all big belly). And I love the picture frame and ultrasound. That is so sweet.

@CocoBellaF - That is an amazing story about your student and just what I needed to hear this morning! My mom is a piano teacher and both my sisters are musicians, and it's always amazing to me how much music can impact somebody's life.

@Swazzle and @caseface5 - I am so jealous! Have so much fun in Chicago!

@southernpeace89 - Yay Callie! I think crawling babies are the cutest.

The last few days have been rough because I've been dealing (again) with all the damn depression, and I don't know why. It's been really frustrating. Yesterday I managed nothing except getting out of bed, making the bed, eating 2 real meals (I had popcorn for dinner), and taking Smudge outside to do her business. I'm feeling a little better today but still trying to take it easy because I don't want to do too much too fast. I'm lucky I have a job where I can work from home and nobody thinks twice about the fact I'm not at the office on days that I don't have class (because in my department...nobody is at the office on days they don't have class).

I did manage to make a list of things to do to kick this bout of depression. So I think starting to cross things off of that might help. They're not big things ("load the dishwasher" is on there), but I think even the action of doing things will help. I'm also going to try to mail a package to BF today, because that always helps when I'm feeling super lonely because he's 7400 miles away.

Also, when I looked at the title of this threat thread, I immediately thought it said "Frizzle," and now I want to watch the Magic School Bus.

@futuremrshistorian - I'm glad you liked it! I love "my kids" and they have really been the highlight of my week for the past few months. I have two sassy ones (one in 2nd grade, one in 6th grade) and then my 7th grade girl. Last night, the littlest was having a really hard time focusing. I had the dogs in the bedroom and Baxter rooed and the little girl stopped and dead-panned "I think that was a dying hyena, Miss Coco." I assured her it was only Baxter.

Also, let me know if some FaceTime would help you out! I get kind of lonely on the weekends since I'm still pretty much housebound and a lot of the time I'm just sitting around.

@futuremrshistorian ugh sorry you're going through that, seems like all of us have been having our bouts of depression lately. Do something nice for yourself like get a massage, or even I just bought one of those heat pads you put in the microwave (etsy) and it made me feel so relaxed just having it on my neck last night. I wish your bf was around for snuggles.

@cocobellaf I didn't take any pics in the dressing room, I'll get one tonight. I actually didn't own a maxi previous to this for the same reason, I thought they were unflattering on me. But they look adorable with a belly lol

@CocoBellaF LOVE all of your sneak peeks! Your color scheme looks perfect and almost exactly what I would do (I actually did mint and peach for our wedding, I'm so partial to it for some reason). And that's so cool about your student!

@jenna8984 I also want to see the maxi's! I absolutely love them in the summer - I can feel pretty at work while also feeling like I'm in my PJ's. And I hear you on girl time, I don't have a lot of girl friends in Boston and I spend way too much time with H. One of these weekends we'll have to grab lunch or shop or something!

@futuremrshistorian Sorry that you're having a rough day. The list sounds like a really good idea - even if it's easily attainable on a good day (i.e. loading the dishwasher) it will hopefully make you feel great today when you cross it off. Thinking of you!

I'm just so freakin' happy it's Friday. My manager was at jury duty on Tues, sick yesterday and is on vacation from today until Thursday of next week. So it's just me and my co worker covering a 4 person department... I'm just over it already and its 9am haha.

I did get to go to spin this morning which felt great - I met a coworker there so it was nice to have some extra motivation. Then of course we went to a nearby delicious bagel store and got egg sandwiches, because what's the point of working out if you can't nom on a giant breakfast sandwich after??

Not much happening this weekend - H asked me if I wanted to go out to eat tomorrow night so that should be fun. There's a restaurant in the city that gives you vodka-infused italian ice as a palate cleanser at the beginning of the meal, and cotton candy with poprocks with your bill. So obviously we're going there.

@futuremrshistorian I totally second @jenna8984's idea about the heating pad - I usually add a little lavender oil to mine or drip it onto the infuser near my bed (or sometimes I just wipe it all over my pillow). It's so crazy how a scent can have such a soothing effect but, it always calms me down and reminds me of sunny, happy times.

@futuremrshistorian At least your accomplishing some things! Good job with the list! I'm pretty much the laziest person and it's been bad lately- the apartment is a mess and i just don't have the will to clean it up. I've struggled with depression before and i can't tell if this is partly from depression or pure laziness.

Last night I was going to do my work out but it was pouring and dark out when I got home and I was exhausted. I napped instead. I'm not letting myself feel too bad about it because I will work out tonight and I still did 5 days this week.
This weekend H wants to go to the tattoo convention that's in town and that's about it. I'm supposed to go for a walk tomorrow with friends early in the morning and I really just want to sleep in and work out when I get up so I don't think I'm going to go.

@pambeesly524 YES, mine totally came with lavender oil already inside it. Got delivered last night and I can see using it daily lol. And yes to hanging out, I love lunch and shopping days, or even just hang out and order pizza days and nobody is ever free. omg that place you're going tomorrow night sounds amazing!

Oh yea.......when I was about 2 my mom brought me to the beach and I kept saying beach ball! We didn't have a beach ball and people around us didn't either so she didn't know what I was talking about. She finally figured out I was referring to my round little belly in my swimsuit!! So when I saw this online last night, I absolutely had to order it! hahah

Tonight will be a super early, like 7:00pm, bedtime. I have to get up at 1:00 to drive down to Philly to catch my flight to Chicago. I'm so excited to see everyone. I went to check into my flight this morning and my boarding pass wouldn't print. Last time this happened was when we were leaving Mexico and I was randomly selected for a search. Not exactly how I'd like my 5:00am to go.

Good morning. I stopped at Starbucks this morning for some good coffee and I'm drinking it back in my old office which is so nice. Today will likely be a slow day bc all the bosses are out of the office.
Tonight is date night so I'm sure H and I will be out doing something, just not sure what yet. But I love date night because I don't have to cook/clean!
I'm not really looking forward to this weekend though. We have brush pick-up on Monday so we'll be working in the yard. And H is dead-set on fixing our chimney stack that has some rotted wooden boards on it. He's been talking about fixing it for a month now, but I just hate the idea of him getting up on the roof. Ugh, is it too late to book a flight to Chicago?!!

@beachyone15 - I am a stress cleaner. My apartment is almost always super clean and organized because I go a little crazy when I get stressed. (Like, wiping down the ceiling fan blades crazy.)

I can't even express how glad i am that today is Friday. I have been absolutely exhausted ALL WEEK and I have no idea why. I'm going to do nothing tonight and sleep in so hard tomorrow.

Last night I got home to realize my garage door wouldn't open, I thought it was a dead battery in the opener until it occurred to me that the power might be out. Luckily I had left my side screen door unlocked and had both keys to the side door. Sure enough, power was out.

I had to get ready in the dark for my friend's bday dinner, but managed to pull together an outfit and touch up my makeup. I even put on some bright pink lipstick, something I hadn't done in months. I love fun lipstick, but really can only wear it for a girls' night unless I forbid BF from kissing me.

It was good to hang out with girls. I didn't realize how badly I needed the girl time. We got to talk about things like boobs and dating and crazy exes and how we want to eat all the bread but know we shouldn't. Very important stuff.

I spent the rest of the night laying on my bed staring at my phone screen. I had no energy to move, and it took all the effort in the world to force myself to roll off the bed and go wash my makeup off.

Have I mentioned I can't wait to sleep in tomorrow? I love sleep.

@jenna8984 I live in maxi dresses all summer. Mainly because I don't have to wear a bra and can put in zero effort and still look nice.

@beachyone15 good luck this weekend, I'm sure he'll be fine on the roof, but yeah I'd be freaking out too.

Oh I have a mini vent: Last night my bf was working on the trim for the windows in the addition. While he was doing that, I made dinner, did dishes, and four loads of laundry. At one point I sat down on the couch, because I was exhausted, and he had the nerve to walk in the house and say "Why don't you do the dishes?" And then got pissy when I glared at him. Seriously dude, you have food and clean clothes so you don't have to take care of yourself while I'm away this weekend. Don't tell me to clean something when I want to sit down and relax.

@speakeasy14 oh man, I wish I could not wear a bra. That's the first thing that comes off when I get home every day. I haven't worn a bra in our apartment since we moved in unless we have company.

@wink0erin no, it's not available at all. Basically, I checked in and the next screen was the unable to print boarding pass screen and it said for me to check in at the airport. I made a pdf of the screen, but yeah this is exactly what happened last time and then as I was boarding the plane I was asked to step aside for a full pat down and search.

@speakeasy14 oh yea, he should know better than to say that! My H will always say "oh sweetie, don't worry about that I'll get it". Vacuuming, dishes, etc. And then 3 days later it's still not done.....and I end up doing it now with more. I finally stopped listening when he says that and just do it on the spot.

@speakeasy14 - I swear sometimes men do not think at all about what they are saying. A few weeks ago my H offered to clean up the kitchen after I went to bed. I woke up and saw that he had put the leftover food in the fridge, but that was it. WTF?
