Herro!

It's warm but dreary/rainy here today which made it so hard to get out of bed!

Last night, I got home and made quinoa fiesta enchilada casserole with H then ate and read while H watched TV. He had hockey so when he left at 9, I got into bed and intended to read for a bit more but I got creeped out by my book while alone so I put it away after about 10 minutes LOL

Tonight will be much of the same. I have salmon marinating in miso, mirin, garlic, and ginger for dinner tonight which I am SO excited about!

Now that hockey is done for us and so many of my shows are over, I feel like I don't have anything going on! That'll be good for my reading goal for the year, at least!

@Swazzle, your salmon sounds really good!

Not much to say here. Ready to get this work day over with so I can go home and snuggle the pups. So sleepy today! Our housecleaner is coming tomorrow, so I need to pick up some stuff tonight before she comes so she can get right to the cleaning part. I love housecleaning days!

I had a friend that is a certified yoga teacher come over this weekend and she showed me some poses/flows, so I'd like to try some out tonight before we do an hour-long flow this or next weekend. Not sure if I'll get to it... I also kind of want to take a long bath with oils and scrubs. So we'll see which one wins out.

We had a bake-off at work yesterday for cookies. I thought mine would win! I made these babies:

But I ended up tieing for second place. The first place were crunchy chocolate oatmeal no-bake cookies. They were really good, I actually voted for them. But it's another month that the traveling chef trophy isn't living at my desk. We're thinking mini muffins for next month, so I'll have to start experimenting... I was on Pinterest last night and saw some for peaches and cream with a streusel topping. They sounded really good!

@Swazzle That dinner sounds fantastic for last night and tonight! I feel the same way...after Callie goes to bed I want to watch a good show but nothing is on until the end of the month.

Callie is seriously trying to pull herself up on everything. Last night she kept on crawling towards all the things that she could go put her hands on and stand up. This girl is crazy!

DH is finally home tonight so I'm excited I won't be myself again for the fourth night in a row. We are having Tilapia and broccoli and probably some of our leftover corn bread if it's still good.

Soooo I was totally stupid yesterday and figured out why the door on my van wasn't working lol. So apparently my gas door was open, not the cap but just the door and that's the reason why the door wouldn't slide open. My Dad being the smart man he is figured it out and I felt so dumb lol. So luckily we don't need to get anything repaired anymore with that.

@Swazzle What are you reading that creeped you out? I think you said the name this weekend but I forget.

Last night I went home, finished unpacking my suitcase, washed dishes, did some laundry, and took a nap. It was awesome. We had turkey burgers for dinner and watched WWE. We went to bed about 10:30 and I slept like the dead for the second night in a row. I'm still tired but not as debilitating as yesterday.

Tonight I have to take pictures of our fense and send them to a company and take Tess to get her nails cut.

@southernpeach89 - I am glad your car doesn't need any more work done to it. I've done stupid things like that, too, and then someone points it out and I have a "duh, I feel dumb" moment. Happens to the best of us!

@Swazzle and @southernpeach89 and @LizzyTish88- The cookies were delicious, but they were also quite a bit of work. Took a few hours (with H's help) on Sunday. I had some ugly cookies leftover, so H took them to work. The guys loved them, so I placed first there!

@LizzyTish88 - I'm reading 'Sacrificial Muse' by Maegan Beaumont. It's the 2nd in a series and the first was super creepy so even though nothing major has happened yet in this one (I just started it on my way home from work yesterday), there are references to the first and I got so freaked out being home alone last night! My vicious pitbull is NOT a good guard dog.

Probably won't be on much today because I'm in all day meetings FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK. ugh. But last night was great - we had that spaghetti squash dish (with spinach, bacon and goat cheese!) and I ran 5 miles and passed out early. This morning I woke up at 5 to do a 3 mile run because we have company tonight and I need to do laundry.

@PamBeesly524 Ugh I miss my morning runs. I really only have time to do them on weekends since I wake up at 5:00 to get ready for work already haha. They always made my days that much better knowing I got a good run in already.

@LizzyTish88 Yesterday the new s/n totally threw me off and I was really excited that we had a new lurky lurker hanging around here.

Mowing the lawn last night was a huge bust. It started raining on our way home from work so I didn't get to even get started. Ugh...it's so overgrown after vacation. Instead H and I filled our night with demo work on our master bathroom!! We pulled up all of the floor tile except for the stuff right around the toilet and we got all of the drywall around the shower torn down. Tonight we'll try to pull the shower out in one piece but I think we'll have to break it up...guess we'll see! We have a plumber scheduled to come on Thursday to do some work and then our contractor starts on Monday!!!!

@swazzleoh that sounds delicious. My favorite from cheesecake factory is their miso salmon. My shows also ended last week, so I ordered a book called "the shit no one tells you" about the first year of parenthood hahah.

@southernpeach89 hahahahaha that sounds like me with the gas cap, I don't notice the dumbest things sometimes! I actually called H from the gas station and said that my windows in my new car wouldn't work and that they must be stuck on lock. Yea...turns out I was getting gas so the car was off...power windows don't work when the car is off. lol

Um wow. So I just had a meeting with one of our customers from the UK. The man was straight up gorgeous- I felt like I was meeting with Colin Firth. I could have talked to him all day......hahahah

Yesterday I was training my boss all day (for my leave) so I couldn't check back in, and today we'll also be training from about noon-5 so I won't be around much. I don't feel that he has the attention to detail needed for some of these complex spreadsheets but I repeatedly yelled at him to follow my instructions step by step. I'm like I did not spend 50 hours writing these so you could just wing it- follow every f-ing step!!! I literally said that while banging my hand on the table lol. We have a few months so hopefully I can really drill that into him and feel confident leaving.

Also- H put his face on my belly before he left for work, and baby kicked him right in the head heheheh

Today, my schedule is full... I've got puppies ALL day and almost no time for a break but I will persevere

Tonight I was supposed to cook dinner for me and BF but he has an exam that is required for one of the nursing schools he applied to so I'll be eating solo. Don't know what I'll make though. After that I've got to get cracking on a 23-page business plan that's due in three weeks that I should have started a month ago. Luckily I've done one of these before and it's for the same kind of business so I already have all my financial forecasts and market research done... I may just pull my old one up and tweak it. Not sure yet.

@labro I'm so impressed all the time with all the things you accomplish on weeknights! H & I get home and eat dinner & watch tv. I can barely get him to do housework on the weekend, let alone get him off his butt after a 9 hour work day lol. Our mailbox was hit with a bat (punk kids) and it's dented and the door is half falling off. I asked him on Sunday if we could run to Home Depot and replace it and he said no. In my head I was like...but Labro re-did her whole mailbox on like a Thursday night....

So yesterday was a zoo at work. Absolute bonkers trying to catch up. Today I have a status meeting with my boss too to discuss goals/my mat leave/work flow/etc. In short, going to be another insane day. Yesterday H and I attended our first baby class (thankfully it wasn't canceled...it got taken off the online calendar for some reason but the teacher was there so "yea!"). Just learned some basics. The H's were clueless in the class for the most part and I felt like this....

...the entire time. Also, no one was answering ANY of the instructors questions so either they were really, really shy (H and I tried to start conversations with several couples during the breaks and they all looked panicked honestly) or they need the class more than I do. And she would wait around until someone answered her so to speed the class up, I ended up volunteering a good half of the time in class. We learned breathing techniques though and I think the class will be very helpful.

Yesterday I ate a gluten free chocolate cupcake (thank you Chicago GTG) and it was divine too...that deserves its own paragraph.

@minskat30 I felt the same way at our birthing class! The only important thing I got from it was learning what I was comfortable with for birth...positions and such. I learned that I did not want to sit still lol and that the bouncy ball was my friend and so were massages.

@jenna8984 Haha don't fool yourself! Most weeknights for us are the same. Go home, eat dinner, be a bum all night. In the spring though I really start to feel motivated and I feel guilty I guess if I just sit around all night so I always try to do something. Also LOL'ing over the mailbox story!

Good morning. I was dreading coming into work today. It's a slow week for me and I hate coming into work knowing I'm going to be bored. Thank God for you ladies!
Last night H and I went for a walk and talked about whether or not we should go ahead and get our new bed now, or wait 2 months until his bonus comes in. We are both just so fed up and uncomfortable that I think we are going to go for it. Plus we have one picked out that we like and we would hate for it to be discontinued. For dinner we had leftover pot roast which was great because there was no cooking involved. We also put a spaghetti squash in the oven to prep for tonight. I think we're having it with turkey meatballs and red sauce.
In other news, I can't wait for May 1st because it'll be my first paycheck with my raise!
