So jealous of your wine and donuts! That's awesome! We're ordering cheesesteaks at work for lunch on Friday and I can't stop dreaming about them. There's a place in Hoboken that surprisingly makes pretty good ones (you know I'm pick AF when it comes to cheesesteaks).

@speakeasy14 I've heard about people going into labor once they set the appointment to induce! Maybe that will happen. If not then May seems like a perfectly good month to have a birthday! Best wishes to the new Momma and family!!

A side funny, when I came in and saw the flowers on my desk my first thought was that it was from my surprise person, and I was thoroughly confused as to how they would have my work address! I had a moment of being really confused/creeped out, so I went "What the hell is this?!" Seeing as it was from my boss/the Supt I kinda felt like an ass when he told us but funny none the less.

So this is crazy. Last week I mentioned a girl from my high school drowned in Puerto Rico. Well this week there's a lot of buzz going around that maybe it wasn't an accident and that her husband might be a suspect. She had a very recent restraining order against him...so did she get on a plane and go there with him or did he follow her there? A friend of theirs set up a gofundme to raise money to "bring their daughter home". Which makes no sense.....she's there with her father, why wouldn't they have return tickets home, why wouldn't she just fly home with him? Speculation is that he's not planning on coming back......? But again if that's the case you can't just take the daughter back here, the rights will be with the dad. So yea, I have no clue how much is rumor but the whole thing seems fishy!

@speakeasy14 aaw maybe she will go on her own before then, you never know! Exciting either way!

@lizzytish88 glad the dogs are getting along and not being too much of a hassle!

@pambeesly524 don't know if I've heard of him, I will look online because I probably have and just don't know his name!

Nothing last night. Actually the rub/marinate turned out really good! I use vegetable oil, garlic powder, onion powder and tried using a Wild Whiskey BBQ (club house) rub. I let the meat {usually pork but I also used chicken} soak all day and fry it up.
Best to shake it a few times and just careful when cooking, oil spits

Tonight isn't much. Might do vacuuming but need to finish grocery list mainly. Matt has banking to do.

@minskat30 That's true, I didn't think about maybe he's being held down there. He is from there and they would vacation there often so I guess that's why he would feel "safe" there even though it's still the US. Because he's with his parents and stuff like that. I dunno, I really hope some details emerge, and for the daughter's sake that it was just an accident & misunderstanding!!

Worked late, went home, crashed. Tonight is church, and H and I are planning to discuss (hopefully productively) how much each of us should be expected to put in around the house. This semester has been rough because I haven't been home very much and I have been unhappy with the state of the house (read: cleaning and cooking) and the remodeling. Wish us luck on finally resolving this!

@KeptInStitches I hope it goes well! H and I are in a similar situation, except he studies from home and I'm at work all day. He doesn't mind picking up the slack but I always feel guilty that I've barely cleaned anything in months. I try to do as much as I can on the weekends but part of me is always like "this is the only time I have at home, do I really have to spend it cleaning?"

@speakeasy14 - I don't know. The thing is, his truck is a 2001 and has over 200,000 miles on it. So it's just a matter of time before we'll need to get a new vehicle, even though he's been maintaining it well. The only damage the hail did was dent it up and crack one of the headlights. But other than that, it's perfectly fine. I guess we'll be talking about what to do tonight.

OUR TILE IS DONE!!!

Now we just need to grout the bathroom, fix all the holes we put in the drywall, paint, put up baseboard, install the new toilet, install the new lights, and install the new sink faucets and that's it!!!!

Last night I did not feel like doing any work at all in the bathroom so I focused instead on cleaning our floors because they were SO filthy after all of the in and out from contractors over the last week or so.

Tonight after work my mom and I are going to go for a run. She wants to do 3 miles and I hope I'll be able to keep up with her! Afterwards I'll go home and possibly grout a wall in the shower just so I can have something accomplished for the day.

I'm SO SO excited! In less than 3 weeks @GoldenPenguin and her H are coming to visit and she just booked us tickets RIGHT BEHIND HOME PLATE for the Braves vs Phillies game!!!!!!

I'm sorry for being a total AW today but I forgot to mention that today's my weigh-in day I am -1.6 this week from last putting me back at my -9.4 overall since joining WW! I've been here before but then I had a really bad week where I gained almost 4lbs back and it's taken me FOUR freaking weeks to get back to this point. Fingers crossed that I hit my -10lbs next week!

@LizzyTish88 I'm glad this Supt is so thoughtful and great. Hopefully something happens with your boss's attitude ASAP. RE: gym and pups. It's definitely hard to go at night after dealing with the dogs. For a while I wouldn't go at all with Zoey when she was still untrained and had separation anxiety, but these days I just go to the gym a little later after I've let her out, fed her, and played with her a bit. She goes back in her crate, but I give her a little dental chew bone thing, and she doesn't even notice I'm gone. You could try doing something like that with the dogs tonight so you both can get to the gym?

3 pages! That's what I get for coming in late today.

I'm WFH today and had my last training session with my personal trainer. It was such a great workout! I think I will be hurting something fierce tomorrow, but we'll see. I want to go back to the gym tonight and do some cardio since I didn't get to go yesterday.

Last night I got home and almost immediately focused on rearranging the garage so my car would fit. I moved a couch, a china cabinet, and a bunch of boxes all by myself. Obviously I'm a haus. After a lot of trial and error, I got my car to fit, so it was a success. Afterwards we worked on getting H's car protected in case of hail. At one point we had a bunch of heavy blankets tied down to his car, but the wind kept blowing the blankets up. We ended up driving to a random parking garage and paying to park his car there overnight. He's driving my car today because we were too lazy to wake up early and get his car this morning.

So, after all that media coverage and prepping, the storm was a dud. We had some amazing lightning that preceded the storm, and I spent a lot of time on the balcony last night watching it. Other than that, it was just a normal, heavy rainstorm. Nothing exciting at all.

We were too tired to cook last night after all the storm prep, so we picked up Freebird's on our way home from the parking garage. My favorite part about Freebird's is that I can get a burrito for less than 600 calories. Om nom nom.

Re: Anniversary gift-- H and I have not discussed if we'll do the traditional gifts or not. We're both ardent readers, so if we go traditional, we'll likely buy each other a bunch of books. Personally, I love the idea of tickets for a first anniversary gift.
