If money was no object...

Re: If money was no object...

  • I'd have mine on a private ship in the Mediterranean. I'd fly my friends and family out there, too.  I'd also get lipo for the wedding.  Oh and Billy Joel would perform as well as George Strait.

    And ALL THE CAKE!

    Now we are talking.
  • New option!

    Shinedown "I'll Follow You" was our first dance. I would have them sing it instead.
    We also had 21 Pilots version of "Can't Help Falling In Love" live version as our aisle song. Again .... I would have them sing as we walked.
  • A time machine so we could bring Johnny Cash to the future so he could sing us "Rose of My Heart" for our first dance...  We would need a lot of money for that, because we'd also have to hire a team of quantum physicists and mechanics and string theorists to make that happen.

    "And when they use our atoms to make new lives, they won’t just be able to take one, they’ll have to take two, one of you and one of me..."

  • We (jokingly) looked at renting this place in france for our wedding. Had 26 bedrooms each with their own bathrooms, and worked out to like $100 per room per night, so it wasn't that bad. So our splurge would have been flying everyone over to come stay with us haha. I can't find the place now, but it was on one of those random lists '34 castles you can actually afford to stay in!' kinda thing. It was drop dead gorgeous. Alas a private jet was out of budget, so we are making people drive XD

    I would have gotten married on Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands (BVI).    I love that place.

    Other than that I wouldn't have changed much, if anything.   We had all the people we wanted to invite, great food, full open bar and lots of dancing.

    No amount of money can change the weather and really that was the only thing that was disappointing when it came to my wedding.
    Actually for about 100K you can get planes to fly over your venue to disperse any clouds!

    Interesting and a little disturbing.

    although we had a strong tropical storm (just shy of a hurricane), pretty sure that service wouldn't have worked in our situation.

    What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

    I liked having overcast on our wedding day. We weren't blinded by the sun while taking photos, and when people were outside it wasn't blazing hot {even though there was a tent for ceremony, some people wandered around afterwards}
