GOOD MORNING!
Today is my engagediversary! H asked me to marry him 5 years ago which is insane to think about. I can't believe how quickly time flies by. I think a couple of you guys were also around back then. I'd been posting here for about 2-3 months at that point.
And while we're on the subject of time flying... how the HELL is tomorrow the last day of August and summer about to end? I can't wrap my brain around it.

I've been scrolling all through FB this morning, liking the shit out of back to school pictures. I can't believe that the first group I ever coached is starting their senior year of HS! Add that to all my current kiddos starting HS and I am all emotional this morning LOL. It's a good emotion! Tonight we do our "Back to school" themed practice where each grade wears a certain color, it's always a fun one!
This month flew by! I was actually thinking about doing a Sept thread.
@LizzyTish88 seriously, I think I liked at least 50 different photos yesterday of first day of school pictures. I love that everyone has their kid hold a sign that says what grade they're entering.
Last night we a relaxing night. My bf and I just hung out on our back porch. Then we took the dog for a walk and looked at some foreclosed houses in our neighborhood. We're ready for the next project house, and we want a bigger yard. After we got back we made some drinks and hung out on the porch again. It was so nice until a skunk wanted to join the party. Luckily we didn't get sprayed.
Tonight my family is having a bowling night. Should be interesting, since all of us get way too competitive haha
@Swazzle Happy 5 years of engaged and married bliss!! I wasn't here when you got engaged but I remember when you were planning your wedding and I was SO SO excited for you!
Yesterday was such a crazy day. @TwoDimes and I woke up early after a night of drinking to get packed up and on the road. I gave @minskat30 and Ani and Raj tons of hugs. My flight ended up being delayed by nearly an hour so when I landed in Atlanta I immediately had to jump on a phone call for work. I also missed an in-person meeting at the office..oops. Luckily book club was fun that evening. We discussed Girl on the Train and I ate all the tortellinis!
Next month's book is A Man Called Ove by Frederick Backman. So so so many feelings in this book but I really really really loved it! It's not a suspense/thriller but I think it's just some really well-written fiction. I would even read it again.
Today I'm listening to the contractors bang away at the siding. They're getting pretty close to finishing...maybe 2 or 3 more days depending on how today goes and then they'll paint and we'll be done!!! It's looking so good!
This is our first morning there, we went to Pearl Harbor and to the USS Arizona.
After that, we hiked to a waterfall which was SO incredible.
Then we discovered my favorite beach. We were driving down the road and went around a curve and I looked to my left and this GORGEOUSNESS was just there. I made H pull over and immediately made a run for it.
I can't even believe this is a real place.
I jumped off that and lived to tell the tale....

@LizzyTish88 ahh themed practices! Makes me nostalgic for high school. We also used to do 1 themed practice a year in college for rugby and it was the most fun practice of the whole season!

Last night was relaxing for us too. H and I re-made an old Blue Apron recipe we had gotten - it turned out pretty good! Then we watched the last episode of The Night Of.. I'm kinda "meh" about the whole season. I don't know what it is but I think the whole thing could have been done a lot better. I still would watch any future seasons though.
This morning I got up early and went for a 5 mile run, so that feels good to have that out of the way. I have 0 meetings today so I'll just try and crank some work out at my desk. It's my manager's last week in the office before maternity leave so I want to try and get her opinion on as much stuff as possible!
@PamBeesly524 - H and I just started watching The Night Of last night. We're 1.5 episodes in. I like it so far, though there are some pretty unbelievable/hokey (sp?) things that happen that I have been calling out. H does not enjoy me doing that.
Last night H grilled yummy steak and veggies and then we watched The Night Of. Tonight is hot dogs and corn on the cob (we're on a grilling kick this week). Today I'm going to make myself apply for two jobs in Charlotte. That's about it. I feel like a one trick pony track record these days.

@swazzle - Aww, I love that! Happy 5 year! And those pics are surreal. Glad you had fun and got home safely. It sounds like there are two hurricanes headed that way!

@speakeasy14 - Yikes. I've only seen 1 skunk in our neighborhood, but I'm sure he's part of a family that hides out somewhere!
@labro - That's exciting! I would love to see before/after pics when it's complete.
@PamBeesly524 - I wish I could be as dedicated as you! I'm sure a run in the morning is relaxing and gets you in the right frame of mind for the day. If only my bed wasn't so comfy...

@LizzyTish88 Glad I'm not the only one who felt that way about The Night Of! I feel like I'm supposed to love it or something. I wish I loved it more.
Oh I forgot to mention, maybe in December I'll just start sharing our annual list of bookclub books here. If anyone is interested in reading along then they can?
@labro - We are having everyone over at 2:00pm so we were thinking of just snacks/finger foods. H really wants those frozen pizza rolls (which is odd bc I've never seen him eat them before, lol), chips and veggies, dip, crock pot meatballs, queso, watermelon, and some sort of dessert. Any other ideas/things we are missing?
We are also having plenty of drinks (mostly beer/cider since it's mid-day) and we are putting out a bunch of lawn games. Hopefully it's not crazy hot!

@LizzyTish88 LOVE fleece lined leggings. My only beef with them is that they're perfect on my way to work, and then I'm boiling sitting at my desk. I usually wear them at home though.
